Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths

Chapter 123: Cruising the Celestial Lanes and the Fox in Distress

The majestic capital of Elysium Prime slowly shrank into a glowing constellation of jade and gold as the Aethel-Prime detached its massive anchor-hulls from the upper atmosphere, breaking smoothly into the endless, sapphire-blue sky of the deep celestial trade lanes.

Inside the primary command lounge—a colossal, crystal-domed observatory lined with plush velvet lounges and panoramic views of the swirling nebulae—Kang Min-jae was living out the absolute pinnacle of luxury.

He reclined comfortably on a massive, oversized imperial throne-couch carved from starlight wood, looking every bit the supreme sovereign of the cosmos. But right now, his divine authority was entirely dedicated to being thoroughly and luxuriously spoiled.

"A little to the left, Bylai," Min-jae murmured with a blissful sigh, closing his eyes as the Ice Goddess Gu Bylai stood behind his head, her cool, gentle fingers kneading the tense muscles of his shoulders with expert precision.

"You make it sound like conquering a planet and rewriting reality is hard work, husband," Bylai teased softly, a warm, affectionate smile gracing her lips as she leaned down to press a light kiss against his temple.

At his feet, Major General Ye-rin and Han Seo-yoon were seated on plush velvet cushions, working in perfect synchronization to massage his legs and feet. "Don’t spoil him too much, Bylai," Ye-rin snorted playfully, though her hands continued their firm, soothing strokes up his calves. "Next thing you know, he’ll expect us to carry him everywhere."

"I am a True God, Ye-rin. Walking is beneath my divine dignity," Min-jae replied smoothly, cracking a single eye open just in time for Han Chae-won to lean over him, holding a slice of sweet, glowing celestial dragon-fruit.

Chae-won popped the piece directly into his mouth, laughing as he chewed. But before she could pull back, Yoo Ji-a—who was currently sitting squarely and comfortably right across Min-jae’s lap, her slender legs draped over his side and her hand resting familiarly on his chest—snatched another piece of fruit from the tray.

"Hey! That was my tribute," Chae-won protested with mock outrage, crossing her arms.

"Executive privilege, Chae-won," Ji-a purred mischievously, popping the fruit into her own mouth while her other hand playfully adjusted the lapels of Min-jae’s loose silk shirt. She leaned down, pressing her face close to his, her violet eyes gleaming with pure amusement. "Besides, I occupy the prime real estate on the primary throne. You have to negotiate through me for fruit distribution."

Min-jae wrapped his arm securely around Ji-a’s narrow waist, holding her close against him while Medusa, Liu Xiao, the twins, and Vespera bustled around the lounge. One was pouring divine nectar into a crystal goblet, another was adjusting the navigation runes, and the rest were casually lounging nearby, keeping up a steady, cheerful stream of banter and teasing laughter.

Min-jae took a slow sip of his nectar, looking around the opulent, sunlit lounge at his ten breathtaking, devoted wives, all serving him hand and foot as they sailed smoothly across the infinite stars.

’This,’ Min-jae thought to himself with a deeply satisfied grin, ’is the life every man dreams of.’

No more apocalyptic dungeons, no more backstabbing regressor timelines, just infinite peace, supreme power, and a floating harem of immortal goddesses treating him like absolute royalty.

"Enjoy it while it lasts, ladies," Min-jae teased, his dark eyes sparkling as he looked around the room. "Because once we hit the outer sectors, I might actually have to put on pants and pretend to be a responsible emperor."

"Pants are entirely optional in the celestial lanes, husband," Liu Xiao laughed gracefully, adjusting her emerald-and-white silk robes as she walked past with a fresh tray of delicacies. "And responsibility is what your supreme divine council is here to—"

The entire massive hull of the *Aethel-Prime* shuddered violently. The panoramic crystal windows flashed a blinding, emergency crimson as the ship’s automated defense alarms shrieked to life.

[ Warning! Emergency proximity alert! ]

[ An unidentified high-energy biological entity is breaching the outer atmospheric shield! ]

The relaxed, luxurious atmosphere in the lounge evaporated in less than a microsecond. In a flash of motion, all ten queens were on their feet, their playful banter instantly replaced by the sharp, lethal focus of immortal warriors. Ji-a sprang off Min-jae’s lap, her hand instinctively dropping toward where her shadow spear materialized, while Ye-rin’s eyes narrowed toward the main navigation console.

"Someone has zero respect for scheduled appointments," Medusa muttered coldly, her icy-blue eyes flashing with irritation.

Min-jae slowly stood up from his lounge, brushing a crumb of dragon-fruit off his shirt with absolute calm. He raised his hand, silencing the blaring alarms with a casual flick of his fingers. "Let’s see who’s crashing our cruise."

With a wave of his hand, the main forward viewing screen shifted from star maps to real-time external surveillance of the ship’s lower starboard hull.

Out in the open, freezing vacuum of the upper stratosphere, tumbling frantically through the clouds, was a figure.

"Help me... please... someone save me...!"

A desperate, breathy cry echoed directly into the ship’s communication array—not through radio waves, but carried on a sharp wave of telepathic spiritual pressure.

Min-jae and his wives gathered tightly around the viewport. Skimming across the top of the cloud layer, desperately sprinting toward the massive shadow of the Aethel-Prime, was a woman.

And she was, without a doubt, one of the most striking creatures the multiverse had ever produced.

She possessed the distinct, ethereal features of a celestial fox cultivator—a pair of fluffy, snow-white fox ears twitched nervously atop her long, silver-blonde hair, and nine magnificent, sweeping tails trailed behind her, currently singed and sparking with residual lightning. But what immediately caught everyone’s attention was her outfit. She wore a tattered, skin-tight crimson-and-gold silk tunic that was ripped dangerously high along her thigh and torn across the shoulder, barely containing her voluptuous, heaving chest. Her skin was dusted with dirt and a faint sheen of golden sweat, and her wide, sapphire-blue eyes were swimming with pure, unadulterated terror.

She was visibly injured, clutching her side as a trail of golden fox-blood drifted into the wind, stumbling frantically across the air currents as she fled.

"Well," Ji-a crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow as she looked from the fox woman on the screen to Min-jae. "Your rescue radar is acting up again, husband. Though I have to admit, her wardrobe choice for a morning jog is certainly dramatic."

"She’s running from something massive," Chae-won noted sharply, pointing toward the heavy dark clouds boiling up behind the fleeing cultivator.

Right on cue, the sky tore open.

A colossal, nightmarish roar shook the upper atmosphere—a sound so deep and thunderous that the glass of the observation deck hummed in resonance. Bursting through the storm clouds was an Ancient Abyss-Scale Dragon, a monstrous beast stretching over two miles long, covered in jagged obsidian scales, burning amber eyes, and breathing gouts of toxic, reality-melting purple fire.

The dragon locked its massive, hateful gaze entirely on the fleeing fox cultivator, raising a titanic claw to crush her out of existence.

"Please...!" the fox woman sobbed, her legs finally giving out as she collapsed onto a floating platform just beneath the ship’s forward deck, bracing herself for the final strike.

Min-jae let out a quiet, unimpressed sigh. He shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "We’re five minutes into a peaceful cruise, and giant lizards are already ruining the vibe."

"Go ahead, husband," Xiao smiled softly, stepping up beside him and lightly patting his shoulder. "Show her how the empire handles uninvited reptiles."

Min-jae didn’t even draw a weapon. He simply raised his right hand toward the viewport and gave a slight, dismissive twist of his wrist.

[ True God Authority: Absolute Subjugation.]

Out in the open sky, the massive Abyss-Scale Dragon—a creature capable of leveling solar systems with a single tail-swipe—suddenly froze mid-air. A blinding column of pure, golden starlight erupted from the heavens, wrapping around the beast like an inescapable cage of divine judgment.

Before the dragon could even let out a whimper, the golden light compressed violently.

In less than a heartbeat, the two-mile-long beast imploded inward, turning completely into a harmless cloud of glittering golden experience particles and fine mist that drifted peacefully away into the cosmos.

The entire sky went silent.

Down on the platform, the injured fox cultivator blinked her large sapphire eyes in absolute disbelief, staring up at the titanic floating fortress that had just vaporized her worst nightmare with a flick of a wrist.

Min-jae pressed the ship’s intercom button, his voice carrying clearly across the open air. "You can stop running now. The lizard is gone. Portal chamber four is open—come inside before you bleed out on my hull."

Few Minutes later, the grand medical suite of the Aethel-Prime was filled with a soft, warm glow.

The fox cultivator—who introduced herself as

Lin Miao, a rogue sovereign-tier beast-cultivator from the eastern stellar domains—sat nervously on the edge of a velvet examination couch. She was still shivering slightly, her tattered crimson tunic wrapped in a clean linen blanket provided by the ship’s automated systems, her fluffy white ears drooping with exhaustion.

Min-jae and his ten wives stood around the room, watching with a mix of curiosity and amusement.

"So, let me get this straight," Ji-a leaned against a pillar, crossing her arms with a playful smirk. "You stole a sacred artifact from an ancient dragon clan just to prove a point to your ex-fiancé, and now you’re surprised they sent a two-mile-long scaled monster after you?"

Lin Miao flushed a deep, embarrassed crimson, pulling the blanket tighter around her voluptuous frame. "It wasn’t just any artifact! It was the Ancestral Pearl! And my ex deserves to be humiliated!" she stammered defensively, her nine tails twitching behind her. "Though... I didn’t think they’d deploy a primordial executioner..."

"Well, your executioner is currently stardust," Min-jae chuckled, leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed. He looked down at her severe side wound, which was still leaking a faint, glowing golden aura. "Your internal meridians are completely shattered, Miao. You’re lucky your soul didn’t fragment before you reached our shields."

Liu Xiao stepped forward gently, her green-and-white silk robes rustling softly against the floor. A warm, emerald-green healing aura began to bloom around her delicate fingertips.

"Let me take a look," Xiao said with a kind, soothing voice.

Miao looked up nervously as Xiao approached, but before the fox woman could speak, Xiao simply reached out and rested her bare hand gently against Miao’s injured side.

There was no complex spellcasting, no lengthy medical procedures. Just the pure, unadulterated touch of a True Goddess.

A breathtaking wave of brilliant emerald light flooded the room. In less than three seconds, the deep, ugly gashes across Miao’s body closed up entirely, knitting skin, muscle, and bone back together with flawless perfection. The glowing golden aura stabilized, and Miao’s breathing instantly shifted from ragged gasps to deep, peaceful sighs of relief.

Miao gasped, staring down at her completely healed side, and then looked up at Xiao with wide, jaw-dropping shock. "My... my meridians... they’re completely restored! In seconds?! Who—what are you people?!"

"We’re your hosts," Min-jae smiled warmly, pushing off the doorway and walking over to pat Miao gently on her white fox ear, earning a startled, cute squeak from the cultivator. "Welcome to the Aethel-Prime, Miao. Get some rest. You’re safe here."

Miao stared up at Min-jae, her cheeks turning bright red as she realized just how powerful—and surprisingly handsome—her mysterious savior truly was.

Ji-a let out a light, melodious laugh, walking over to wrap her arm around Min-jae’s waist while giving Miao a knowing, welcoming wink. "Don’t worry, little fox. You’ve stumbled into the safest—and most chaotic—ship in the entire multiverse. Make yourself at home."
