Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 136: Valley of Whispering LightThe luxury and big ship drifted smoothly away from the cold, violent echoes of the Veil Nebula, sliding through the silent currents of the outer galaxy until a new celestial body filled the massive panoramic viewing windows.
It was a planet unlike any they had conquered or visited before. From orbit, the world gleamed like a living jewel of emerald green and luminous sapphire, wrapped in a soft, ethereal halo of pale gold energy. There were no sprawling technological metropolises here, no floating citadels of war, and no towering fortresses of dark stone. Instead, the planet was an untouched primordial paradise—a world composed entirely of ancient, towering forests with leaves that shimmered like crushed crystal, rivers of liquid light that flowed like molten glass, and mountain peaks that seemed to pierce the sky, wreathed in clouds of pure spiritual mist.
As the massive starship descended through the upper atmosphere, the alarms and tactical readouts fell completely silent. In their place, the ship’s internal sensors registered a profound, cascading wave of natural resonance.
Inside the central starlight lounge, the heavy tension of the Void-Walker battle evaporated almost instantly.
Lin Miao was the first to react. She closed her eyes, her long silver-blonde hair gently stirring as a soft breeze from the atmospheric intakes filtered into the room. Her fluffy white fox ears twitched, and her nine tails fanned out completely, relaxing into a lazy, contented drape behind her chair.
"Oh..." Miao breathed out, her sapphire eyes widening with absolute wonder. "The energy here... it feels like the air itself is breathing. Every cell in my body is just... waking up."
"It’s not just energy," Yoo Ji-a murmured, leaning against the glass of the viewing port, her violet eyes reflecting the emerald forests below. "It’s a sanctuary. For the first time since we left Elysium Prime, my mind isn’t calculating combat vectors or tactical formations. It’s just... quiet."
Even Azshara, whose soul had spent ten thousand years marinating in the cold, harsh vengeance of the Abyssal Dynasty, felt the iron grip around her chest loosen. She placed her hand against the crystal window, watching the sea of glowing green trees drift by below. The dark, jagged thorns of her crown seemed to dim, replaced by a soft, warm resonance with the planet’s pulse.
"A world untouched by war," Azshara whispered softly. "I didn’t know places like this still existed in the cosmos."
Min-jae stood up from the central command dais, letting out a long, relaxed breath. The golden light in his eyes softened, matching the tranquil, verdant hue of the world outside. He looked around the room at his eleven wives, seeing the tension melt from their shoulders, replaced by a serene, breathtaking peace.
"Then I think we’ve flown far enough for one week," Min-jae announced, a warm, easy smile curving his lips. "Let’s park the ship. We’re staying here."
An hour later, the ship rested gently in a vast, open valley surrounded by mountains of shimmering crystal-quartz. The landing ramps lowered, but instead of the harsh vacuum of space or the sounds of an alien city, the air that rushed into the ship carried the sweet scent of night-blooming jasmine, crushed pine, and ancient, sweet nectar.
The queens stepped out onto the soft, luminescent moss of the valley floor, their footwear sinking silently into the plush earth.
The valley was a masterclass in natural beauty. Crystal-clear streams wound their way around smooth, glowing river stones, reflecting the twin suns of the system as they set slowly below the horizon, painting the sky in gorgeous ribbons of lavender and gold. Giant, bioluminescent ferns arched overhead, casting a soft, pulsing azure light across the glade, while flocks of multi-winged starlight-birds fluttered peacefully through the canopy, singing a gentle, chiming melody that vibrated in harmony with their heartbeats.
"This is incredible," Major General Ye-rin muttered, unbuckling her standard-issue utility belt and letting it drop to the moss with a soft thud. She stretched her arms over her head, letting out a contented sigh. "No armor, no weapons, no alarms. Just trees and quiet."
"And the energy here is practically begging for a dual-cultivation session," Liu Xiao purred smoothly, walking over to Min-jae and sliding her hand into his. She leaned her head against his shoulder, closing her eyes as the pure, ambient prana of the planet seeped into their shared spiritual matrix.
"No schedules today, Xiao," Min-jae laughed softly, wrapping his arm around her waist. "Today is strictly for unwinding."
What followed was a day of pure, unadulterated leisure and domestic bliss—a rare, peaceful pause in the grand, epic sweep of their lives.
They set up camp near the edge of a crystal-clear, warm-water spring that bubbled straight from the heart of a quartz mountain. The water was infused with natural spiritual essence, glowing with a soft, pearlescent sheen.
Without needing to be asked, the boundaries of formality completely dissolved. One by one, the queens shed their elaborate gowns, silk robes, and armor, slipping gracefully into the warm, inviting waters of the natural spring.
Min-jae sat waist-deep in the center of the pool, leaning back against a smooth, moss-covered boulder. The water massaged his muscles, washing away the lingering fatigue of galactic governance and interstellar combat.
Lin Miao was the first to swim over to him, her nine white tails floating behind her in the water like beautiful, glowing ribbons of foam. She rested her chin on his chest, her sapphire eyes looking up at him with absolute, melting adoration.
"You know, my lord," Miao whispered softly, tracing a wet finger along the line of his collarbone, "back when I was hiding from the dragon syndicate, I used to dream about finding a place where I wouldn’t have to run anymore. But I never imagined I’d find it sitting in a magic hot spring in a paradise like place, surrounded by an army of gorgeous sister and the most powerful man in the universe."
Min-jae smiled, catching her hand and pressing a gentle kiss to her palm. "You didn’t just find a safe place, Miao. You helped build it. The universe gives us what we fight for, but it takes family to turn a planet into a home."
"A sentiment I never thought I’d hear myself agree with," Azshara’s smooth, husky voice broke through the gentle splashing of the water.
Azshara swam closer, her ink-black hair plastered against her back, her crimson eyes softening as she looked at Min-jae and Miao. She didn’t hesitate; she slid right into Min-jae’s lap, her voluptuous curves pressing flush against him in the warm water, her arms wrapping securely around his neck.
For the former Blood-Empress, whose hands had known only the cold grip of steel and the heavy burden of a dying dynasty, the feeling of the warm breeze, the gentle chiming of the birds, and the absolute security of Min-jae’s embrace felt like a healing balm for her soul.
"My dynasty used to worship ancient gods of war and stone," Azshara murmured, resting her forehead gently against his. "They taught us that power is measured by how much blood you can spill to protect your borders. But sitting here... breathing this air... I finally understand what true power actually is."
"And what is it?" Min-jae asked quietly, his hands resting naturally on her hips.
"Peace," Azshara whispered, closing her eyes as she kissed him deeply, a slow, sweet, lingering kiss that tasted of sweet nectar and pure, unreserved devotion. "Having the strength to protect what you love, and the wisdom to actually sit down and enjoy it with them."
As evening descended over the valley, the dual suns dipped fully below the horizon, and the planet’s unique ecosystem truly came alive. The sky overhead didn’t turn black; instead, it bloomed into a magnificent, translucent tapestry of pastel auroras and glowing constellations that seemed so close you could reach out and touch them.
The natural spring was now surrounded by a ring of glowing moss-lanterns that the twins and other wifes had playfully coaxed out of the local flora using minor nature-starlight arts.
The atmosphere shifted from quiet contemplation into a warm, deeply intimate celebration of life and love. The air was filled with soft laughter, teasing murmurs, and the gentle splashing of water as the twelve queens gathered around Min-jae in the pool, creating a living tableau of absolute, divine luxury.
Yoo Ji-a floated lazily on her back nearby, using a water-manipulation spell to splash a gentle stream of cool spring water over Liu Xiao’s shoulders, prompting a playful splash-back that turned into a laughing water fight between the veterans.
Gu Bylai and Chae-won sat on the smooth quartz rocks at the edge of the spring, feeding each other sweet, glowing forest berries while watching the sunset paint the mountain peaks in shades of violet and rose.
Min-jae sat in the middle of it all, with Azshara still draped across his lap and Miao nestled securely against his side. The physical and emotional intimacy flowed as naturally as the crystal streams around them. There were no grand decrees to issue, no enemy fleets to obliterate, and no galactic councils to intimidate. There was only the warmth of the water, the fragrance of the alien flora, and the unbreakable bond of a family that spanned the stars.
"Well," Min-jae looked around at his wives, his dark eyes sparkling with affectionate warmth as he pulled Azshara and Miao closer, feeling their skin slick and warm against his chest. "If we’re going to stay on this planet and let our souls find peace, we need to establish a few ground rules for the valley."
"Oh? And what would those be, Emperor?" Medusa purred, swimming over and resting her chin on his shoulder, her emerald eyes glinting with playful mischief.
"Rule number one," Min-jae smiled, his voice dropping into a rich, teasing rumble. "No talking about taxes, trade routes, or void-fiends for at least forty-eight hours."
"Acceptable," Xiao laughed, swimming in close to wrap her arms around his neck from the other side.
"Rule number two?" Miao asked eagerly, her fox ears twitching.
"Rule number two," Min-jae whispered, his gaze sweeping over the breathtaking circle of women who had given him their hearts, their loyalty, and their eternity, "is that we spend tonight exactly like this—forgetting the universe exists, and letting this valley remind us why we built our empire in the first place."
The cheers and soft, breathless moans of agreement echoed softly off the crystal mountains. As the starlight aurora overhead began to pulse in time with the gentle rhythm of the valley, the night dissolved into a long, beautifully intimate symphony of romance, pleasure, and deep, enduring love—a quiet sanctuary carved out of the infinite cosmos, held together by a True God and his twelve extraordinary queens.
