Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 140: creatorThe silence that followed the unholstering of the ancient sword lasted only a fraction of a second.
When the blade cleared its spatial rift, the ancient runes etched into its obsidian length began to bleed a pale, blinding starlight. The golden sentinel did not hesitate; he lunged forward, his massive broadsword cleaving through reality itself in a silent, hyper-accelerated arc designed to bisect existence.
Min-jae didn’t dodge. He channeled every ounce of his infinite divine reservoir into the ancient weapon, his golden eyes flaring with absolute dominion.
The collision of the two divine blades triggered a shockwave so violent that the mirror-smooth obsidian floor beneath them shattered into a trillion glowing fragments, raining down into the endless abyss below. The sky-vault, already fractured, split wide open like a cracked eggshell.
The sentinel’s golden armor creaked under the pressure. The runes on Min-jae’s sword flared with a blinding, roaring intensity, eating away at the kinetic force of the blow.
"You’re strong," Min-jae growled, his voice vibrating with the terrifying weight of a True God pushed to his absolute limit. "And your blade is sharp. But you’re missing one thing."
"What... is that?" the sentinel’s voice echoed, sounding like grinding tectonic plates.
"I fight for a family," Min-jae roared, tightening his grip and pouring the combined, echoing power of his queens—their love, their devotion, and their dual-cultivation essence—straight through the blade.
A spiderweb of white-hot fissures fractured across the sentinel’s unblemished golden visor. The guardian froze, his golden aura flickering and dying out like a blown candle. With a final, deafening sound of shattering metal, the armor split apart, and the sentinel dissolved into harmless particles of golden starlight, leaving behind only the echoing silence of the Origin Point.
Min-jae lowered his sword, his chest heaving slightly as he exhaled a long breath of golden mist.
Before he could even turn back to check on his wives, the shattered sky above them re-knit itself, glowing with a soft, warm radiance. The air grew thick with a scent resembling blooming lotuses and morning dew. From the center of the blinding light, a figure descended slowly.
She was breathtaking—a woman of divine, ethereal beauty with striking, hypnotic yellow eyes that held the wisdom of a billion galaxies. She wore flowing, elegant robes of pure white and shimmering yellow silk that draped over her flawless curves, combining an aura of supreme, untouchable majesty with a deeply captivating, dangerous allure.
Min-jae narrowed his eyes, gripping his sword. "And who are you? The boss at the end of the dungeon?"
The woman smiled, a playful yet melancholic expression that crinkled the corners of her brilliant yellow eyes. She drifted gracefully down until her feet touched the floating debris.
"Put down the sword, Min-jae," she said, her voice sounding like a symphony of chiming bells. "I am the one who wrote your story. I am the Creator of this realm."
Behind Min-jae, the spatial rift parted, and Azshara, Miao, Liu Xiao, and the rest of the queens stepped through, their weapons drawn and ready to fight. But upon seeing the glowing, yellow-eyed woman, they stopped, sensing an authority that transcended even Min-jae’s divine weight.
"Stay back," Min-jae murmured, though he didn’t lower his weapon entirely. He looked back at the Creator. "You wrote my story? Explain."
The Creator stepped closer, her yellow eyes scanning him with a mix of clinical fascination and genuine awe. "Every step of your journey, Min-jae. Every trial, system, regression, and every power you unlocked—it was all planned by me. I engineered your path so you would break the cycle of mortal limitations and rise to the status of a True God."
Min-jae’s expression hardened. "You made me suffer through regressions? You orchestrated the wars?"
"I had to," she sighed softly, her gaze shifting briefly toward the dozen stunning women standing behind him. "However... they were not in my plan. The harem you gathered, the deep bonds you forged, and especially your unique dual-cultivation system—none of that was written in my blueprint."
She stepped even closer, the intoxicating scent of her divine presence washing over him. A small, amused smile touched her lips. "Because of them, you are far more powerful than I ever calculated. You bypassed my safety parameters entirely. You just destroyed my ultimate sentinel—a guardian that hasn’t fallen in a hundred million years."
"If you planned my rise, why?" Min-jae asked, his golden eyes piercing into hers. "Why build a god just to test him with a glorified executioner?"
The Creator’s smile faded, replaced by a shadow of deep, ancient dread. She looked up at the broken, starry sky.
"Because someone wants to destroy everything," she whispered. "A primordial destroyer of realities. Millions of years ago, there were many gods like me. We fought against him, and at a devastating cost, we managed to seal him away in the dark folds of the cosmos."
She looked back at Min-jae, her yellow eyes shining with unshed tears and heavy responsibility. "Before we sealed him, that monster cursed every god who touched him. One by one, the gods began to wither, their divine cores rotting away from the curse. Now, out of a pantheon of thousands, only a handful remain... and I am the last one standing here to guard this threshold."
Min-jae listened in silence, his sharp intellect connecting the pieces. "And you needed a successor. Someone strong enough to stand beside you and help fight him when he returns."
"Precisely," the Creator nodded, stepping close enough that he could feel the radiating warmth of her divine presence. "You were meant to be my ultimate successor but now ... perhaps you are something even greater than I anticipated."
She gestured toward the queens, who were listening with rapt attention. "And now, you have an advantage I never dreamed of. Your wives aren’t just companions; they are the anchors of your soul. Through them, through your shared cultivation, you can grow infinitely stronger than any single god has ever been. You already know why—because love and unity are the only things the destroyer cannot comprehend or consume."
"How much time do we have?" Min-jae asked, his tone shifting from suspicion to absolute, unshakeable resolve.
The Creator’s expression grew grave. "Only one hundred years remain. After that, the ancient seal will break completely. We are not confident we can seal him a second time. The pantheon is gone; only a few fragmented gods remain across the cosmos. We raised successors, but none of them match your growth."
She reached out, her soft, warm hand gently resting against Min-jae’s cheek. Her yellow eyes met his with a mixture of reverence and deep affection. "Now that we have only a century left, we must prepare ourselves. The real war is coming."
Min-jae looked back at Azshara, Miao, Ji-a, and the rest of his queens. They didn’t look afraid; they looked ready. They had conquered galaxies, shattered dimensions, and broken the rules of reality itself. A destroyer of worlds was just another target.
Min-jae turned back to the Creator, covering her hand with his own for a brief moment before stepping back.
"A hundred years," Min-jae said, a confident, wicked smirk playing on his lips. "That’s plenty of time for a honeymoon, a few more upgrades, and a warm-up."
The Creator let out a soft, melodic laugh, the tension in her shoulders finally easing for the first time in millennia. "I wouldn’t expect anything less from my favorite anomaly."
Min-jae turned to his wives, gesturing with his head. "Come on. Let’s go take a vacation. We have a planet to pick out."
As the thirteen of them turned to open a spatial gateway back to the known universe, Min-jae cast one last look over his shoulder at the beautiful Creator in her yellow and white robes.
"We’ll be back in a hundred years," Min-jae said, his voice echoing across the silent expanse of the Origin Point. "Keep the porch light on."
With a flash of golden-white light, the gateway swallowed them whole, leaving the Creator standing alone in the fractured starlight, a faint, hopeful smile gracing her lips as the countdown to the end of the universe officially began.
