Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 90: My ten beautiful wifes"Wait... what are you doing?" Min-jae said, his voice dropping into a low, slightly flustered baritone.
He was pinned against the garden wall. In front of him stood Medusa. Usually, she was calm and distant, but now her eyes were full of a deep, intense warmth. She wore a long silk gown of violet and lavender that shimmered in the moonlight.
"Why wait? I want to build a future with you. Let’s just stay here together," Medusa said softly.
She pressed her body firmly against him. Min-jae stood completely still, feeling the warmth of her presence. Her full, heavy chest pressed right against his shirt, and her thighs brushed against his. She was dangerously close, her breathing shallow and her eyes wide with a pure, burning desire that made his heart race. A deep flush crept up his neck as he realized how much she wants him.
Min-jae didn’t speak his thoughts out loud. Instead, his mind drifted back to how they had all reached this point.
’In my past life, I was just a low-ranking hunter, struggling every single day just to survive in a harsh world’, Min-jae thought as he looked past her shoulder at the stars. ’ After I was betrayed and died, I got a second chance. I woke up with a unique system cheat that helped me grow stronger than anyone could imagine. I defeated every enemy who stood in my way, won every single conflict, and even managed to bring down ancient gods.’
He remembered the realization that followed those battles. ’Even with all that power, I was still just a mortal. I knew I could still die of old age. That’s why I decided to break past the mortal limits, ascend to this higher realm, defeat the strong clans that tried to push us around, and build this safe house for our family’. Min jae thought.
His gaze softened as he looked down at Medusa’s face.
’ On my way here, I met women who were willing to sacrifice their own lives just to protect me. I couldn’t leave them behind, so I married them. I need them just as much as they need me. My system explicitly told me that if my wives cultivate and refine energy, I will automatically receive that exact same benefit without doing anything. It is a perfect dual-cultivation loop. At first, I thought about finding even more wives in the future to push my strength to a true God, but looking at them now... I don’t think I need more wifes ’ min jae thought and then he gasped.
Medusa took a soft breath, her fingers gently tracing the edge of his arm. "The other wives are all busy," she whispered, bringing him back to reality. "Ji-a is training her martial forms, Xiao is looking after the spirit gardens, and the others are reading books or searching for wild herbs. There is only the two of us right here. Let’s just do it."
’Medusa always keeps trying to find a quiet moment to do things like this’, Min-jae thought with a silent sigh.
He knew her past was hard—her father had never shown her a single shred of affection, treating her like an object. Finding Min-jae had changed her entire universe. But Min-jae knew that if his other wives walked into the garden and saw them right now, they would definitely demand the exact same thing. He didn’t want to lose focus yet. His only goal right now was for everyone to achieve true immortality.
Medusa grabbed his hand firmly, leaning her face closer to his, her lips parting as she tried to kiss him. But right then, a subtle ripple in the air caught his attention. Min-jae gently held her shoulders back.
"They’re already coming," Min-jae said smoothly.
’finally’, Min-jae thought with a wave of relief, a little smile appearing on his face.
Medusa was not happy at all. "Hmph," she said, letting go of his hand and stepping back. She turned around to look at the sky, her violet silk sleeves fluttering aggressively. "Why does everyone have to show up at a time like this?"
The light-gold clouds parted, and nine women descended smoothly into the courtyard. Each one was incredibly beautiful, their long, flowing silk gowns sweeping across the polished stone blocks.
Liu Xiao, the silver-green haired Nature Goddess, stepped forward first in her green and white robes. "What are you two doing out here in the dark?" she asked, her emerald eyes narrowing with a playful but protective trace of jealousy.
"N-Nothing... we were just getting some fresh air," Min-jae stammered, his face turning a deep, flustered red.
Right behind her was Yoo Ji-a, her long black hair tied back in a ponytail, her violet eyes staring sharp needles at the wall. "Fresh air? Pinned against the stone with the snake girl? Medusa, stop trying to steal extra time with the husband!"
Han Seo-yoon stepped up, looking a bit hurt as she crossed her arms over her voluptuous gown. "We’ve all bled through the lower sectors together. It’s not fair to hide away when we have work to do."
Gu Bylai, the stunning Ice Goddess, stepped forward to calm the rising bickering, her pale-blue dress drifting like frozen mist as she took Min-jae’s left hand. "We have actual news, husband. While we were sorting through the library, we found an important report."
Shin Ye-rin, the former general, nodded seriously. "It’s confirmed. In the West Continent, a powerful Divine Flame is about to appear in exactly two months. It is an ancient, legendary source of raw energy."
The rest of the core wives, Cynthia, Elena, Lady Crimson, and Han Chae-won, gathered closely around the bench.
"The texts say that after you refine that flame and make it your own, your soul power will become incredibly powerful," Chae-won explained excitedly, her cheeks puffed up with a happy smile. "No poison in the world will ever be able to harm your meridians again, and it will give a massive boost to our shared dual-cultivation speed!"
Min-jae listened, his cold, calculated focus returning instantly as he thought about the resource. ’A Divine Flame that protects from poison and doubles our family’s cultivation speed... If we claim it, the girls will be able to break through to the next realm even faster.’
"Then it’s decided," Min-jae said, his low baritone carrying a quiet, absolute authority that instantly put a stop to the harem’s arguing. "We cannot let the other ancient clans of the West Continent lay a finger on that flame. We leave tomorrow at dawn."
"Sounds perfect!" Yoo Ji-a declared, her jealousy instantly shifting into excitement for the trip. She aggressively grabbed his right arm, pressing her soft curves against his side. "But since we leave tomorrow, you’re staying with me tonight to review the map!"
"He needs to balance his elements with the nature garden tonight," Liu Xiao countered with a beautiful, dangerous smirk.
Min-jae sat completely trapped on the garden bench, surrounded by his ten gorgeous wives who were all talking at once, looking at him with absolute, fanatical devotion. He was a cultivator who could shatter world boundaries, but inside his own home, he was completely defeated by the romantic tension of his court. He looked at their beautiful, determined faces and let out a quiet sigh. "Just be ready by sunrise," he muttered, his face still burning red.
