Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 95: separated from teamThe transition into the deep mouth of the volcanic range was supposed to be a straight march, but the Abyss did not respect the maps .
The moment Min-jae and his ten wives stepped across the smoking black ridge, the entire volcanic valley violently convulsed. It wasn’t a standard tremor. The ancient architects had left behind a massive, hidden trap array woven directly into the rising heat currents. Before Shin Ye-rin could calibrate a defensive barrier or Han Chae-won could pull out a spatial anchor, a blinding flash of pitch-black volcanic light violently erupted from the ground, tearing the spatial coordinates into a million pieces.
Min-jae felt a massive, crushing weight pull at his physical frame. He lunged forward through the thick smoke, his hand reaching out blindly to grab whatever silk sleeve he could find in the dark. The air imploded with a loud vacuum pop, and the frantic, screaming voices of his wives were instantly cut off.
When the blinding smoke finally cleared, the heavy heat of the volcano was gone.
Min-jae slowly rose to his feet. His loose black silk lounging shirt was damp from the sudden shift in humidity. He was no longer on the volcanic trail, and the other nine wives were completely nowhere to be found. The spatial trap had forcefully separated the entire family, scattering them across different layers of the underground rift.
"Min-jae... are you hurt?" a soft, breathless voice whispered right beside his shoulder.
Min-jae turned his face slightly, as a familiar wave of human shyness hit his chest. Standing right next to him was Liu Xiao. The silver-green haired Nature Goddess was pressing her exceptionally voluptuous hourglass figure and heavy chest tightly against his arm, her breathing shallow and her exotic emerald eyes wide with a mixture of fear for the others and deep, adoring relief that she was the one who remained by his side. Her long green-and-white silk gown was slightly rumpled, trailing gracefully across the damp stone floorboards.
"I’m fine, Xiao," Min-jae murmured flatly, his voice dropping into a low, flustered baritone as his neck flushed red under her close physical touch. "Keep your nature shield on low. The environment here is completely isolated."
Liu Xiao looked around the space, her slender fingers tightening around his arm with a deep sense of mystery and suspense. "This isn’t a natural volcanic cavern. My nature network is tracking ancient wood and stone structures buried deep beneath the rock. It feels... like an ancient mansion that was swallowed by the earth thousands of years ago."
Min-jae focused his thoughts, calling out to his newly upgraded cultivation interface to find a tracking path.
[Sovereign Cultivation Interface Active!]
[Current Location: The Forgotten Sanctuary of the Red Seal (Ancient Domain).]
[Warning: High-tier spatial interference is blocking the direct coordinates of the Divine Flame and your separate wives! Total Faction Synchronization is temporarily restricted to 30%!]
[Exploration Objective: Search the interior chambers to locate a central anchor point to clear the domain’s encryption lines!]
Min-jae’s dark eyes narrowed into a cold focus as he closed the interface. "The system is being blocked by an old seal. We can’t trace the flame or the girls until we find the core of this place. Let’s start moving."
"The others... do you think they are safe?" Liu Xiao asked, her voice carrying a trace of real, sisterly worry as they began walking down a long, pitch-black stone hallway. "Ji-a is strong, and Medusa has her royal gaze, but this place feels incredibly heavy with old restrictions. If they trigger an ancient trap without your reflection loop..."
"They are all in the Divine Soul Realm now," Min-jae said smoothly, his quiet voice carrying an absolute confidence that instantly calmed her rising panic. "Their lifespans are secure, and their foundations are anchored. Ji-a has the immortal spear, and Ye-rin knows how to coordinate a vanguard line. They won’t fall easily. Right now, our only job is to clear the core so we can get everyone back together."
They walked for what felt like hours through the silent, terrifying labyrinth of the underground mansion. The tension in the air grew thicker with every step. They passed massive, decaying wooden doors carved with faces of forgotten masters, empty armory racks covered in silver dust, and long-dead gardens where the spiritual herbs had turned to stone. Every corner they turned brought a deeper wave of high-stakes suspense, but no matter where they searched, there was absolutely no sign of the Divine Flame or a path leading back to the volcanic rifts.
"It’s like a maze built to trap a god," Liu Xiao whispered, her heavy curves pressing even closer against his side as the shadows along the wall seemed to deepen. "Every hallway looks exactly the same, Min-jae. My spiritual senses are starting to spin."
"Hold your field," Min-jae commanded flatly, his ears burning red again as her soft frame leaned fully into his chest space. "Look ahead. There’s a light coming from the end of this ridge."
At the very end of the corridor stood a single, massive iron door that was slightly ajar. A thick, suffocating wave of ancient aura was leaking through the crack, carrying a deep, pulsing density that made the floorboards beneath their boots vibrate with a low-frequency hum.
Min-jae gently pushed the heavy door open, stepping inside the chamber with Liu Xiao tightly clinging to his arm.
The room was vast, completely circular, and built out of pure, seamless white jade blocks. There were no columns, no furniture, and no hidden scripts along the walls. The entire space was completely empty, except for the absolute center of the floorboards.
Floating three feet above a small stone pedestal was a colossal, heavy weapon, A Golden Greatsword.
The blade was pristine, entirely different from the dark-alloy weapons of the lower plane. A brilliant, blinding golden aura was continuously pouring out from the metal like a miniature, roaring sun, illuminating the entire white jade chamber in a majestic, terrifying glow. The pure, un-fractured sovereign power radiating from the gold Greatsword was so immense that Min-jae’s own internal Vajra World-Breaker Core violently combusted in response, sending a sharp, crackling line of white solar lightning across his skin.
