Global Lords: Building the Strongest Civilization with SSS Rank Talent
Chapter 326 - 326: Conflicted ThoughtsRubedo materialized on his throne inside the orbital sanctuary. He exhaled a long breath as the residual cosmic pressure faded from his form. The red warning prompts had vanished from his vision, but the terrifying memory block remained firmly entrenched in his mind.
He accessed his console and projected a digital, glowing replica of Isabella's sketch onto the central monitor.
The video feeds connecting Gorr and Sylara illuminated on the secondary screens. The two gods observed the drawing of the girl with white hair and solid silver eyes.
"This is the anomaly," Rubedo stated. "My former classmates claim I brought her to the ten-year reunion party in Miami as a guest. The system has actively erased her existence from my own memory."
Gorr rested her pickaxe against her shoulder and scrutinized the digital sketch. "The game engine attacked you for trying to uncover her identity. This implies she possesses a high-level systemic authority."
Sylara pulled her white hood forward and stared at the central monitor. She tilted her head and narrowed her eyes at the drawing. "I know this face."
Rubedo turned toward her quadrant on the grid. "Where have you seen her?"
"She is not an entity from within the server," Sylara explained. "When the teenagers on Earth initially purchased Project Civilization, they showed me the external digital storefront where they bought the game. This exact woman was the primary character featured on the official cover art of the game."
The revelation settled over the sanctuary in complete silence.
"The cover art," Rubedo repeated.
Gorr gripped the handle of her spectral pickaxe. "You brought the literal mascot of Project Civilization to your high school reunion on Earth."
Rubedo stared at the silver eyes staring back at him from the sketch. The mathematical discrepancy finally made sense, but the logistical implications were terrifying. If the girl on the cover art had physically attended a party in Miami in the year 2024, it meant the boundaries between the digital server and the physical world had broken down completely long before the summoning spell ever activated.
"She orchestrated the extraction," Rubedo concluded. He interlaced his fingers and leaned closer to the monitor. "She is the one who trapped us here."
Rubedo leaned forward and studied the silver-eyed girl on the central monitor. He needed concrete information from the physical world to understand how a digital entity crossed into reality.
"We cannot fight the game's architect from inside the server without knowing her real-world origins," Rubedo stated. "Gorr, Sylara, compile a comprehensive list of questions regarding the external lore of Project Civilization. When Radiant Monarch and his friends finish their school exams and log back in, I will demand they research the real-world development studio."
Sylara nodded from her video feed. "They can look up the lore behind the cover art character and dig into any hidden developer credits. The teenagers have full access to the 2067 internet, and they can act as our investigators on Earth."
"That covers our external strategy," Gorr pointed out while tapping her fingers against her pickaxe. "We still have an entire decade of downtime inside the server before those kids return."
Sylara shifted on her wooden throne and leaned closer to her camera. "That requires us to wait a decade inside this server. The system actively retaliates against your mind if you try to remember her directly."
"I refuse to let the game engine dictate my access to my own past," Rubedo stated. He dismissed the digital sketch from the main screen and stood up. "I will bypass the mental quarantine and force the system to reveal the anomaly."
Rubedo walked to the center of his orbital sanctuary. He extended his hands and activated his creation abilities. Violet light flared from his palms and cascaded across the empty floor.
He pulled the uncorrupted memories of his past and began physically manifesting the 2024 Miami banquet hall inside his divine realm.
Walls of simulated drywall rose from the ground. Round banquet tables draped in white linens materialized in perfect geometric alignment.
Rubedo meticulously recreated every detail of the room, down to the spilled drinks on the floor and the scattered party decorations hanging from the ceiling.
He then formed twenty-eight featureless mannequins out of white stone. He placed each dummy in the exact location where his former classmates stood the moment the summoning spell activated.
He forged a twenty-ninth figure to represent his younger self and positioned it near the exit doors. And the thirteenth figure beside him, as his classmates claimed.
Gorr and Sylara watched the simulation take shape through their video feeds.
"Is that how you looked?" Gorr asked curiously.
"Maybe he made his with extra care, hmm?" Sylara chipped in a remark, which was unusual for her.
"Thinking about it, he is a few decades older than us," Gorr stated. "But we were summoned before he was. All this feels so weird, just like the first time I opened my eyes in this game."
Rubedo was getting disturbed by their remarks. "I will mute you guys if you keep this up."
"You are building a physical map of the event," Gorr observed. "But how will that help?"
"Yeah, we know that you were summoned after that. And even if that girl was with you, nothing would change."
"The system blocked my internal memory," Rubedo explained while adjusting a mannequin representing Marcus. "The game engine cannot block a physical recreation of spatial geometry without breaking its own rendering rules. By mapping out the space perfectly, I leave a physical void right beside my younger self. The system will be forced to render the missing thirtieth variable as a spatial glitch to fill the paradox."
Rubedo stepped back and observed the completed simulation. He focused his divine senses entirely on the empty space standing directly next to his stone counterpart. The area remained completely blank for several seconds.
The cosmic space inside the simulated banquet hall suddenly warped. The system registered the perfectly recreated environment and detected the mathematical void.
A cascade of glitching pixels sparked to life right beside the twenty-ninth mannequin, from the mysterious girl.
