Global PvP Tower: I Can Infinitely Merge My Units
Chapter 48: Match CompletionThe players thinned out fast after Uorop because Logan was at war.
Twenty-six left. Then twenty. Then twelve, players who’d been hiding well enough to survive this long suddenly finding out that hiding didn’t help much once fifty Mythics started actually looking.
Some surrendered the second they saw the army coming. A few tried to fight anyway, and none of them lasted long enough to leave much of an impression.
By the time the number dropped to two, there was only one name left on the leaderboard that Logan actually recognized.
Tronking was waiting for him this time, sitting on a low wall outside whatever was left of his base, Cataclysm Warbringer standing quietly beside him.
"Guess it’s just us." Logan stopped a few meters off, not bothering to draw his sword.
Tronking managed a tired smile. "Guess so."
"Before this ends." He stood up off the wall. "You should know who you’ve actually been dealing with."
"Julian Kesterfeld." He said it plain, no flourish to it. "That’s my real name."
"My family runs Kesterfeld Industries. You’ve probably never heard of it, but trust me, most people have." He let out a short, humorless laugh. "My father’s a Tier-8 player."
Logan went quiet for a second, doing the math on what that actually meant.
Tier-9 had been the ceiling, the last time anyone had told him anything about it. Tier-8 sat one rung below that, still further than anything Logan had any real frame of reference for.
"I know what you’re thinking. Rich kid, powerful family, should’ve walked through this match without breaking a sweat." Julian shook his head. "Didn’t work out that way. Uncommon-rank talent, Uncommon-rank class. Family’s got nothing to do with what you actually Awaken with."
He looked at Cataclysm Warbringer beside him, then back at Logan as he grinned. "I think it’d be better for me to form an amicable relation with you."
"My house is in the Aurelian District of Tier-1 City Darfan. If you ever end up there, or need any help, hit me up. Kesterfeld Tower, top three floors. I’ve seen your face, but I won’t spill any beans about you. " He shrugged. "There are more benefits that way."
Logan smiled. "Alright. Maybe I’ll help you get a Class Change Crystal."
’A rich kid with this backing is useful.’
"Alright, that sounds awesome." Julian grinned, then looked at something hovering only he could see, then let out a slow breath. "See you later."
’SURRENDER!’
The thought carried him out of the match before Logan had a chance to say anything back.
```
[ You have defeated Player Tronking. ]
[ You are the last player standing in this match. You may exit any time you wish. ]
```
Logan stood there a moment, looking at the empty space where Julian had been.
’Last one standing.’
It didn’t feel like the ending it probably should have. There was still too much map left untouched.
He spent the next twenty-eight hours proving that thought right.
Every dungeon still standing came apart under fifty Mythics and a class built to end things fast.
Every Field Boss still roaming the map fell the same way Vrashkull and Gorvakh and Akuvin had, buffs stacked high enough that most of them barely got a second attack in before they stopped being a threat at all.
Challenges he hadn’t bothered with the first time through got cleared on the way past. Monsters died in numbers too large to bother counting individually anymore.
By the time there was genuinely nothing left on the map worth his time, Logan pulled up the leaderboard one more time and looked at a number he still hadn’t fully processed as real.
```
[ Overall Score Leaderboard ]
Rank 1 | L | 122,330
```
He sat with that number for a long moment, the whole match laid out behind it, every raid and every relic and everything it had cost to get here.
’Mom. Dad. Vina.’ He closed his eyes. ’I’m returning.’
Taking a deep breath, Logan ended the match.
[Congratulations on winning the match. Please select the four summons you wish to take outside and own permanently.]
Logan looked at his Mythic Units.
All of them were spread about this area of the first Elite Boss he encountered, bathing in water bodies and playing around.
’I guess this is it. I’ll meet you all later in some other forms.’ Logan smiled.
’But you four are coming with me.’
He made selections.

[Exiting Match.]
In the next moment, Logan saw the scenery shifting instantly.
He was back at the academy’s large open ground. Students were all around him, mostly training.
He looked up.
The sun was right in the middle.
It was noon.
Logan started walking straight towards the exit gate.
He didn’t want to encounter any of his classmates, though he was sure there weren’t any by now.
However, Logan didn’t know something stupid had happened.
He would be out soon.
For now, he was looking at his rewards.

’I’m fucking rich.’ Logan couldn’t help but grin.
Just as he exited the gate, he bumped into a pair.
"Logan?" Elena called out, shocked.
"This bastard...wasn’t he declared dead?" Marcus looked like he saw a ghost.
Logan paused, blinked, and frowned. "What?"
"LOOOGAAAAANNNN! I KNEW IT!"
A loud voice arrived from an aircraft of sizeable shape.
Fast and agile, it made its way to the gate and hovered ten meters off the ground.
The black glass roof opened up, and Logan saw five heads pop up. Three of them were extremely familiar, and all three were tearing.
"Brother!"
And next to them was a girl.
’She...’ Logan’s eyes widened. ’She found me.’
In a blink, Alice arrived in front of him using a skill, a jolly smile on her face as her face reached past his face before she whispered.
"The stupid academy declared you dead two days ago. Don’t worry, I didn’t reveal anything about you just to refute them. I also had you expelled from the academy. Now, best we just get out of this place asap. What do you say?"
Logan’s perk, his calm-headedness and quick thinking that had no room for doubt, kicked in.
"Let’s go."
Alice grinned. "Wonderful, my darling~."
She locked her arms around his arm and jumped.
"D-Darling?" Logan blinked, speechless.
"You better play the part, boyfriend," Alice cheekily said. "I’ve been with your parents for over two days now, consoling and assuring them that you are not dead."
