The figure standing on the enemy Mothership’s deck looked less like a person and more like something that had crawled directly out of a nightmare and decided to stay.

Skin black as the space around them, features sharp and angular in ways that had nothing to do with any world Logan had ever heard of, twin horns curling back from a heavy brow. A staff rested easily in one clawed hand, dark energy coiling slowly along its length like something alive.

[ Tur’Ni Sian ]

Class: Abyssal Runeweaver (Mythic)

Talent: Legion’s Malice (Mythic)

```
Legion’s Malice lets him cast through every ship under his own command at once, turning a fleet into an extension of his own spellcasting instead of just weapons flying in formation. This talent allowed him to invoke the latent power of things after forcefully getting them under control, be they living or non-living.
Three Mythic-rank Spacecraft flanked his own Mothership, backed by twenty-eight more ranging from Normal up through Rare, and a single Epic-rank vessel holding position at the rear, all of them already rotating into an intercept formation.
There was no need for words. Right after Billy’s blocked strike, Tur’Ni Sian answered with everything he had.
His three Mythic Spacecraft loosed a volley in perfect unison, beams of dark energy crossing the distance in a spread wide enough that no single defensive maneuver could catch all of it at once.
"On it!" Billy’s wings snapped wide, Fractured Wings shedding into a dozen blade-fragments that intercepted half the incoming beams before they closed the distance.
Aegis Eternal!
Solveig’s barrier caught the rest, the impact converting straight into stored power he’d need for whatever came next.
Tur’Ni Sian’s own staff came up a moment later, dark energy gathering thick at its tip.
Class Skill: Abyssal Barrage!
A dense cluster of void-black bolts tore free and split apart mid-flight, each one hunting independently for a different target across the whole Mothership’s deck.
Billy caught three of them on his own hull-plating, Solveig’s clones intercepted two more, and the last one grazed past the Mothership’s own shielding with a crack loud enough to make everyone flinch.
Synthia was already back on her feet, Anvil’s Awakening constructs swarming back over the half-finished defense grid the second her HP cleared even a rough threshold, three tiny helpers picking up exactly where they’d left off before the ambush.
Logan watched the exchange from the deck’s center, close enough to help if things went wrong, far enough that neither side had bothered targeting him directly yet.
’Long as this stays a ranged fight, I’ve got time.’
He opened the Summoning Circle and started spending everything he had left.
Cards rolled out of the circle in waves, and he cascaded through them fast, barely glancing up from the process even as another exchange of fire lit the space above him.
’I should be able to merge more efficiently. Talents are supposed to improve the more we use them. But for this Talent, should I just will it? I suppose I’ve gathered enough experience by now.’
Logan locked onto ten Tier-4 Normal-rank cards and initiated a merge on all of them at once.
All ten merged simultaneously, and he only lost five hundred MP for it.
His eyes shone. ’I knew it. I’ve got Batch Merging now.’
Above him, the exchange kept building, both sides trading volley for volley without either one gaining real ground yet, the space between the two Motherships lit up in constant flashes of dark energy and crimson-gold light.
’Alright, let’s do this fast.’ Logan hurried.
That player had watched him fight off an entire army and multiple bosses in a row, and still dared to attack him anyway. He wasn’t going to underestimate someone that decisive.
---
"That player. Leon Flanke." Tur’Ni Sian raised his eyebrows. "His two Mythic-rank summons are quite strong."
"Looks like I’ll have to take the rough approach for this one."
His eyes glinted.
The twenty-eight Spacecraft of different shapes and sizes suddenly moved into formation.
Dooming Sacrifice!
He triggered his Mythic-rank skill, targeting all of his own units except the Mythic-rank ones.
Every one of the twenty-eight surged forward at once, engines burning far past anything their frames were rated for, driving straight toward Logan’s Mothership instead of opening fire at all.
"They’re not attacking!" Billy’s voice cracked with sudden understanding. "They’re diving!"
Dooming Sacrifice scaled its own damage by how much a unit gave up to deal it, and a full self-destruction sat right at the top of that scale.
Voidfall Cannon!
Billy tore into the incoming formation first, the beam catching four of them clean before they closed another hundred meters.
Bloodfall Destruction!
Solveig’s clones answered with a column of crimson light that swept through the pack, another six coming apart before they finished their approach.
Between the two of them, twenty went down before ever reaching the ship, hulls scattering into debris that drifted harmlessly in their wake.
The remaining eight didn’t slow down at all.
They closed the last of the distance too fast for a third strike to catch all of them, and detonated the instant they crossed into range, force and fire flooding outward and slamming straight into the Mothership’s own hull.
The detonation hit first, all eight explosions merging into a single blinding flash that swallowed half the sky, the shockwave slamming into the hull hard enough to throw Logan clean off his feet.
Sound followed a half-second later, a deafening roar that drowned out every voice on deck, and for one disorienting stretch the whole world reduced to white light and the ringing in his own ears.
Tur’Ni Sian didn’t give them a second to recover. His staff came up in the same breath, and his three Mythic Spacecraft fired in perfect unison right alongside him, three separate beams of collapsed dark energy converging into a single point already screaming toward the hull’s already-cracked plating.
The combined blast tore straight into what the detonation had just broken open, metal shrieking as it buckled, entire sections of plating peeling away and scattering into the dark.
Something deep in the ship’s structure groaned like it was seconds from giving out entirely, red warning light bathing the whole deck in a color that matched the panic climbing fast up Logan’s own throat with the sudden and powerful explosion.
Solveig and Billy were expending all of their forces to block and defend, while Logan also unleashed Grim Siphoning Edge wildly to reduce the chaotic energies wreaking about.
For one gut-dropping second, it looked like the ship wasn’t going to hold.
Then Synthia’s system came online.
It looked deceptively simple, a small exotic cube mounted near the ship’s core, but the moment it connected, a barrier bloomed outward across the entire hull in a single unbroken sheet. Dozens of small floating shield projectiles scattered out from the cube a heartbeat later, each one drifting to meet a specific incoming attack head-on and block it before it ever reached the barrier at all.
The combined assault broke against it and simply stopped mattering.
"Well done, Synthia. It came online right on time." Logan released the breath he was holding, clearly relieved.
"For real, man! I thought the ship’s core would be gone." Billy wiped the non-existent sweat from his face. "That player got some powerful strategy. I’m out of MP."
"The enemy is not resting yet." Solveig didn’t turn his head, eyes staring at the enemy. "But I’m also out of MP."
"No worries. We aren’t lacking in manpower anymore." Logan stood on the deck a short distance away, in front of a small crowd of newly formed shapes that hadn’t existed a minute earlier.
Nine new Mythic-rank Spacecraft stood arrayed in front of him, and combined with the one he’d already kept in reserve, that made ten in total.
Exactly the number he’d been aiming for.
Logan grinned, eyes sweeping across the whole assembled fleet, and then at the enemy as his pupils took on a blazing spark. "Now it’s our damn turn to attack."
He took a stance of his own, gripping his sword tightly and pulling it back horizontally.
"Everyone. Unleash a full-powered attack, each one of you. I’ll start."
As soon as he finished speaking, Logan’s arm blurred, and from his Grimlord’s Blade, a slash was unleashed, small at first, and then getting 100 meters long.
Level 10 Overgrim Slash! Which gained the additional effect of increasing the slash size per user’s will, up to 100 meters long!
