Global PvP Tower: I Can Infinitely Merge My Units
Chapter 88: Event EncounterTheir energy levels and all parameters were scanned and translated into accurate inspection by this Mythic unit.
"One is Level 40, and the other is Level 13, and both have a bonus 3,200 stats."
"Both got freaking Mythic-gear sets? Tsk. I could only afford Legendary. Should we still try to take them on?"
"We can try to snipe one of them." The one who said this was the red-haired young man in his mid-twenties, the one with a Mythic-rank gear set and the Mythic-rank spacecraft.
But the moment he finished speaking, something flashed.
As if starlight itself was shaped, and then set ablaze.
An arrow.
Before anyone could react, it came, silently, thirty-four times faster than sound, and struck his chest.
With a speed of eleven kilometers per second, the arrow arrived in 0.43 seconds after Alice released it.
BOOM!
Sound arrived later, and the player was already flung away, who knows where, with a severe injury that put him near death.
But before he died, before the arrow did the full work on his body, he surrendered, leaving his partner alone. He also knew the enemy could have targeted his head, but had instead hit his chest to give him a chance to surrender.
Five kilometers away, Alice grinned.
"Humph. Snipe us when I’m the ultimate sniper here? Dream on."
```
[ Match Announcement. Player Darth Vingol has achieved the first Player Elimination of the match. +500 Tower Points. First Blood achievement acquired. ]
```
"Wait, what?!" Alice was dumbfounded.
"This... so someone else killed a player just half a beat earlier than you did?" Logan smiled wryly.
"Damn it! We missed an achievement." Alice pouted.
"Meh, what’s done is done. We’ll get the others." Logan shrugged. "Also, I don’t know about your two new skills. You should learn mine too, so we can actually work together better."
"True. Here it is." Alice pulled up her own panel. "Hehe, I can’t wait to get more skills. I’m going to level up fast until I hit Class Level 30, at least."
Both of them opened their status.
---
They spent a good ten minutes just trading panels back and forth, Alice narrating each of her own skills while Logan did the same, occasionally interrupting each other with a question or a half-formed idea about how two of them might actually chain together in a real fight.

[ Talent ]
> Blazing Starlight Physique (Legendary)
[ Active Skills ]
> Comet Step (Lv5) - A blink in any chosen direction within a 150-meter radius. Speed +100% for five seconds after skill use.
> Starpiercer Volley (Lv1) - Fires three arrows in a tight spread, each one splitting toward a separate target if more than one is in range.
> Meteor Nock (Lv1) - A single heavy shot, slow to charge, devastating on impact.
> Horizon’s Requiem (Lv5) - A charged shot wreathed in starlight, ninety-five percent Omni-Penetration on seven hundred fifty percent damage. The impact spreads through the entire body of the target, then to two more targets connected to it. If the target loses more than 50% of its structure with this attack, refill MP by 50%.
> Radiant Snare (Lv1) - Unlocked at Class Level 10. An arrow that blooms into a cage of solid light on impact, rooting anything caught inside it in place for a few seconds and applying a two-second stun.
[ Passive Skills ]
> Starlit Vigil (Lv1) - Extends her own detection range noticeably while standing still, and sharpens her accuracy the longer she holds a shot before releasing it. Range: ten-kilometer radius.
> Threat Detection (Lv1) - Unlocked at Class Level 5. Detects the direction of any incoming threat. If targeted by killing intent, Starlit Vigil pinpoints the exact location of whoever’s aiming it at her.
```
"Wait, so if I mark someone with Radiant Snare, and you land Frostfire Edge on the same target-"
"The frost should hold even better with them already rooted in place." Logan grinned. "Worth testing."
"We’ll test it on the next thing that tries to kill us." Alice snapped her panel shut, already grinning back.
"Speaking of which." Logan glanced at his own status again, the unclaimed slot still sitting there, patient. "I never actually picked my Level Thirty skill. Might as well sort that out now."
```
[ Select a new Class Skill ]
> Unyielding Grim Heart (Passive) - When your HP drops below 30%, incoming damage is reduced by a significant margin for a short duration and prevents your death for five seconds if your HP hits zero. 12-hour cooldown.
> Grim Harrowing Chains (Active) - Binds multiple enemies within a chosen radius in dark chains for a few seconds, rooting them in place.
> Grim Vengeful Retort (Active) - Damage taken within the last five seconds is banked and added to the next successful strike you land.
```
Logan looked them over. Every fight that had actually threatened his life so far had come down to numbers, not raw power, five players landing hits he couldn’t answer fast enough, an entire coalition closing in from every direction at once.
"Unyielding Grim Heart." He didn’t hesitate long. "I’ve got enough ways to hit back already. I could use something that keeps me standing long enough to use them."
```
[ Unyielding Grim Heart. ]
```
Alice raised an eyebrow. "Smart pick, actually. Now, you won’t be forced to surrender that easily."
"Mythic skills are indeed on another level entirely." Logan grinned, tucking the panel away.
Which also meant Mythic-rank skills belonging to other players’ own Mythic Classes deserved exactly that same kind of respect and caution.
They fell into an easy rhythm after that, working their way deeper into the island’s interior while the sun climbed higher overhead and the jungle around them thickened into something almost primeval, vines thick as a grown man’s arm looping between trunks wide enough that three people couldn’t have circled them hand in hand.
The rabbit herd found them again an hour later, twice the size it had been the first time, and Alice tore through it without breaking a real sweat, her bow singing steady and constant while Logan hung back and let her keep the kills.
A herd of Dark Flame Bisons found them next, most of the pack Rare-rank and Level 35 to 45, two Epic-rank leaders anchoring the group. Alice made short work of the whole thing in a matter of seconds.
```
[ Player Ruby Starviel has reached Level 22. ]
```
"That’s more like it." Alice flexed one hand, watching gold light curl faintly off her own fingertips from Blazing Starlight Physique’s low hum. "Only eighteen more to go before I catch up properly."
They found their first real event an hour after that, a shimmering rift hanging in a small clearing, pulsing soft blue light in a slow, patient rhythm.
```
[ Event: Rift of Fortune. A random Relic for the winner.]
```
Right as they found it, a beam of light shot straight up into the sky above the clearing, bright enough to be visible from a fair distance, an open signal to every other player on the island that something worth having sat right here.
