After confirming there was nothing of use, the group didn’t linger in Heishui Town and headed directly for their destination.

The water of the lake was a deep and mysterious color, as if it could swallow all light.

The shapes of the leaves were warped and deformed. Some were bent like bows in the wind, while others looked as if they had been stretched by an invisible hand. Their forms were varied, yet unified by a strange, eerie beauty.

Massive vines climbed over the abandoned buildings, their leaves and branches almost completely concealing the ruins within, hiding any trace of what lay beneath.

They were taller than ordinary plants, with thick, sturdy stems, as if trying to support the powerful life force coursing through them.

The roots of these plants dug deep into the ground, searching for every last bit of sustenance. Their leaves were large and thick, seemingly absorbing every trace of energy from the air.

The trees by the lake had not escaped the blight. Their bark was coarse and covered in cracks, as if they had weathered countless storms.

Their branches twisted toward the sky, as if silently recounting their suffering.

The leaves were no longer a simple green but were covered in mottled spots. Some even had a metallic sheen—a product of the radiation’s influence.

Everything around Heishui Lake seemed so unnatural, yet it had all found a way to survive in this extreme environment.

Seeing this bizarre scene, everyone’s expression grew solemn.

Many of them already had their hands on their weapons, ready to face any sudden developments.
