[Congratulations on Completing your Trial.]
[You’ve earned 100,000 Gold Coins.]
[All your attributes have increased by 20 Points.]
Thoren stared at the notification hovering before his eyes in shock.
His deep blue eyes fixed on the golden words as if he needed to read them several times before he could truly believe what he was seeing.
Although he had expected a substantial reward after completing his trial, he had never imagined the Abyss would reward him with such an enormous amount of gold.
One hundred thousand gold coins.
That alone was an astronomical fortune.
Thoren had never possessed such a ridiculous amount of wealth at once.
But before he could even process the notification properly, the ancient voice of the Abyss echoed inside his mind once again.
[Will you like to ascend to the Third Floor or return to the surface?]
Thoren’s expression changed slightly.
Third Floor.
The words immediately caught his attention, but before he could think deeply about it, another notification appeared.
[Choosing to return to the surface, you can only spend 48 hours and you must return, otherwise you will be forced to descend and pay a fine.]
Thoren’s eyes narrowed.
Forty-eight hours.
Two days.
It was not a long period, but it was enough for him to accomplish what he wanted..
But he was not ready to leave immediately.
There were still things he needed to prepare before returning to the surface, and there was no reason for him to rush into another floor without making proper arrangements.
Even though Thoren was stunned by the huge reward from the Abyss, he quickly regained his composure and answered.
"I choose to return to the surface, but not immediately."
[Very Well.]
[When you are ready to return to the surface, follow the marker.]
The moment the ancient voice finished speaking, it vanished without leaving behind even the slightest trace, as if it had never appeared in the first place.
Thoren remained silent for a moment ready to laugh when a powerful surge of energy suddenly erupted inside his body.
His eyes widened.
"What..."
The energy did not come from outside.
It appeared directly inside his body, spreading through every part of his flesh at an astonishing speed while simultaneously rushing through his muscles, bones, organs and soul.
The sensation was so intense that Thoren instinctively clenched his fists as the overwhelming power continued circulating through his body.
His muscles tightened.
His bones trembled.
His blood began to surge.
Every cell within his body seemed to awaken at once.
It was as though an invisible force was breaking through the limits of his body and rebuilding his foundation from within.
Strengthening every part of him without causing the slightest pain, and with each passing second, Thoren could feel his physical strength rising at a frightening speed.
Every attribute was increasing.
And unlike ordinary cultivation where strengthening one’s body required years of painstaking training, the increase granted by the Abyss was absolute and immediate.
Thoren’s breathing became deeper.
His heartbeat became stronger.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The sound echoed inside his chest like a war drum.
He could feel his muscles becoming denser beneath his skin while his bones seemed to possess an entirely different level of toughness, and even his organs felt stronger than before.
It was as though his entire body had been pushed several steps closer toward another level of existence.
But the greatest changes were happening to his mind.
His Intelligence and Perception were receiving the same twenty-point increase as the rest of his attributes, yet the sensation was far more profound.
The world suddenly became clearer.
Much clearer.
Thoren’s eyes widened as countless details that he had previously ignored suddenly became obvious.
The tiny cracks along the ancient walls.
The faint movement of dust particles floating through the air.
The subtle fluctuations of energy buried deep beneath the blackened ground.
Even the faintest sounds within the ruined city became distinct, each one reaching his ears with astonishing clarity.
His perception spread outward almost instinctively.
The ruined city appeared inside his mind as though he were looking at it from above, every street, every collapsed building and every tiny fragment of blackened stone becoming increasingly clear.
His Intelligence also felt different.
Thoughts flowed faster.
His ability to analyze information became sharper and his memories became easier to organize.
Even the complicated information he had received from the Vorlath Blood Compass seemed easier to understand now, with connections that had previously appeared vague becoming much clearer inside his mind.
Thoren slowly exhaled.
"Interesting..." His voice was quiet.
Yet there was an undeniable excitement hidden beneath it.
And for someone like Thoren, whose fighting style relied heavily on perception and intelligence, twenty points in those two attributes were particularly valuable.
His gaze slowly shifted toward the Soul Lantern of Eternal Crypt floating beside him.
Even his connection with the artifact felt clearer.
Stronger.
It was almost as if the invisible barrier between his consciousness and his undead had become thinner, allowing him to sense their existence with greater clarity.
For several minutes, Thoren simply stood there and allowed the energy to circulate through his body.
The ancient building remained completely silent around him.
The strange darkness continued to surround him.
But inside his body, a transformation was taking place.
Then, gradually, the overwhelming sensation began to disappear.
The energy circulating through his body slowly faded, leaving behind a profound sense of strength.
Thoren opened and closed his fists several times. He could feel the terrifying strength hidden beneath his seemingly ordinary physique.
He looked down at himself for several seconds before checking his attributes.
[Attributes: Strength 75, Agility 74, Constitution 74, Intelligence 100, Perception 102, Charm 52]
Thoren stared at the numbers.
A grin slowly crept across his face.
"Not bad."
In fact, it was far better than merely not bad.
It was incredible.
With the increase, his Intelligence and Perception had reached levels he had never possessed before, while his physical attributes had also received a substantial boost.
He clenched his fist.
A faint cracking sound echoed from his knuckles and his grin widened. He could not help but feel excited about testing his newfound strength.
However, he quickly suppressed the impulse.
There was no need to fight something merely to test his strength.
He had more important matters to handle.
His gaze shifted toward the entrance of the ancient building.
The strange ruins had already revealed one of the most important secrets he had encountered since entering the Bleeding Desert, and he had obtained the Vorlath Blood Compass.
His gaze lingered briefly on the statue where the Vorlath Blood Compass had once been embedded, before he finally turned around and began walking toward the entrance.
His footsteps echoed through the enormous dark structure.
The endless black ruins stretched before him beneath the oppressive sky, while the undead Greater Dune Scorpion remained exactly where he had left it, waiting patiently for its master.
Thoren walked toward his undead mount and climbed onto its back.
He looked toward the horizon with his calm deep blue eyes. But beneath that calmness burned a firm determination.
’Move.’
The undead Greater Dune Scorpion immediately began moving forward, its enormous legs crushing the blackened ground beneath it as it accelerated across the ruined city and toward the horizon.
Gradually, the dark ruins disappeared behind him.
