Goblin Dependency

Chapter 1157 - 572: Reversal of the Situation (3)

At present, ordered to lead the troops to attack this large island occupied by humans, this Fishman Commander could almost be described as readily accepting.

Just earlier, in front of everyone, he executed two adventurers in a manner of near brutal slaughter. Though it was to demoralize and weaken the enemy’s morale, to say there was no influence from personal likes and dislikes is quite unlikely.

Now, as he alone entangles the four elite adventurers on land, listening to the sounds of slaughter cast by his subordinates, the Fishmen.

The Fishman Commander’s mood increasingly became joyous.

It’s as though he could already imagine in the near future, bringing the Fishmen under his command to the island to join forces with several other troops, slaying all visible beings of the Mysterious Race until none remain, and returning the island to the ocean’s embrace in purity.

However, before he had time to thoroughly envision his bright future, a scream filled with a sense of fear suddenly came from behind him.

Waving the fish spear, he forced the adventurers in front of him to retreat.

The Fishman Commander took the opportunity to instinctively glance toward the direction from which the sound came.

Originally filled with cruelty and brutality, the fish eyes suddenly froze.

The pupils contracted inward as they trembled fiercely.

At this moment, it had only been less than five minutes since he made the decision to mobilize elites to block intruders, while he personally led some subordinates to support the Fishman troops on the shore.

The originally wave-tossed blue sea surface had been stained with a shimmering blue hue that chilled his spine—that was... Fishman blood.

Fragmented broken limbs and heads with stiff, frozen expressions, like rubbish thrown from the deck of a human ship, loomed intermittently between the waves.

The one emitting the terror-stricken scream was a slightly hunched Fishman Priest.

It seemed to have used some kind of spell to escape, its body surface displaying a layer of illusion, briefly escaping the ocean and gravity’s constraints, hovering above the sea and slowly rising at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Its state was clearly off, as if scared out of its wits.

Uttering a sharp wail that even the most cowardly and humble human slaves did not make, its two hands tightly clenched its slightly rough Sea Rock Staff, as though it was a life-saving object, a pair of fish eyes firmly fixed on the sea surface below.

"What is that?"

The Fishman Commander was astonished.

A touch of mysterious and jet black shadow gradually thickened from below the sea surface.

Amidst the wave sounds, he vaguely heard an increasingly high-pitched strange wolf howl.

"Boom!!!"

When the shadow below the sea surface reached its zenith of intensity.

With strong impact, the water seemed to explode outward.

The water splashed glistened.

In that moment, the Fishman Commander was briefly reminded of his youth when accompanying his elders on his first external mission. The terrifying Demon Whale that viewed them as prey, swimming from the deep sea with its gaping bloody maw almost swallowed him whole.

A wolf beast entirely wrapped in a dark air akin to mist, exuding an indescribable terrifying aura, suddenly rushed out from beneath the sea surface.

Targeting the prey attempting to flee in mid-air, the Wolf Mouth opened, and at the highest point about to be pulled down by gravity...

It snapped shut fiercely!

"Crunch."

The dull, tearing sound of flesh and bone echoed in the air.

The Black Wolf Beast returned to the sea, carrying with it the body of the prey that was mostly bitten off by its Wolf Mouth.

While the Fishman Priest’s remaining head bore a face frozen in boundless fear, and half a shoulder, slightly lagging behind, powerlessly floated a few more inches under the remaining Magic Particles.

As if bits of rubbish, they freely fell downward.

With a splash, on the blood-stained sea surface, they raised an inconspicuous spray of water.
