Having been together for so long, master and servant naturally had excellent teamwork, this could be considered one of their combination skills.
Miserable shrieks rose and fell in succession, under the incineration of the golden flames, those black shadows struggled painfully but could not escape.
However, there were simply too many of them, Adam and Cecilia didn’t know how long they had been burning them, the ground was already scorched completely black, yet it was still crawling with black shadows.
"Young Master, what exactly are these things?" Cecilia wrinkled her nose at the strange burnt smell.
Adam frowned tightly and shook his head. "I’m not sure either, but they are definitely not ordinary creatures, otherwise it would be impossible for them to breed so many in such a short time."
"Then what should we do? Just keep burning them?" Cecilia covered her nose, that strange smell was getting heavier.
Adam pondered for a moment. "We continue deeper and see what secrets are hidden on this ferry."
The two continued forward along the passage, the Great Sun Golden Flame didn’t stop either, continuously burning the black shadows.
On the ensuing journey, those bizarre black shadows grew more numerous, and the surrounding darkness made them feel increasingly oppressed.
Thump, thump! Suddenly, a muffled sound came from deep within the darkness, master and servant paused their footsteps.
Thump, thump! The muffled sound rang out again, the evil aura grew a fraction thicker.
"Young Master, don’t you feel the aura here is getting stranger and stranger?" Adam felt it too, he nodded.
"It seems something is gestating deep within the ferry!"
Thump, thump! Accompanied by the muffled sound, a strong gust of gloomy wind blew past, carrying a hair-raising whistle, it felt as if something was spying on them from the dark.
Adam and Cecilia instantly became vigilant.
"Golden Sun Flame Wheel!" The golden flame in Adam’s hand erupted like a giant golden sun.
Adam hurled the giant golden sun directly forward, a streak of golden flame shot out and struck that hair-raising figure.
The sound of burning echoed as the Great Sun Golden Flame swept through the entire passage.
However, this time the black shadow was not easily burned to nothingness, instead, it struggled in the flames, letting out miserable shrieks, the ordinary black shadows, on the other hand, instantly evaporated.
"What is this thing?" Cecilia exclaimed.
Adam looked closely and found that this black shadow was similar to the creatures they encountered before, yet also different, its body exhibited a bizarre contortion, with slender curved limbs, its head was also a slender black stick, but at the top grew a hideous human face.
The human face’s eyes were blood-red, even as flames ravaged its body, a cruel smile hung at the corners of its mouth, as if enjoying the pain and despair, but even if it could hold out longer, it was still quickly burned to ashes.
"The secret on this ferry is much more complex than we imagined." Adam’s tone was grave, his gaze pierced through the raging flames into the darkness.
Cecilia gripped her spirit sword tightly. "Young Master, should we retreat first?!"
Adam shook his head. "No, we’ve already made it this far, we can’t give up halfway, besides, I have a premonition that even if we retreat, this thing will still come knocking on our door!"
"A curse?" Cecilia thought of a fitting word.
"Then what should we do now?"
Adam took a slight breath. "We continue deeper."

Just as Adam was about to take a step, he paused, the system’s voice had rung in his mind.
"Young Master, what’s wrong?" Cecilia asked in confusion, controlling her flying swords.
"It’s nothing, let’s go!" Adam shook his head gently, not sharing the system’s information with Cecilia.
To think this place was actually the breeding ground of an Evil God, no wonder he kept feeling like something was gestating here, then these black shadows must be the guards of the Evil God’s breeding ground.
As they continued deeper, the darkness grew heavier and the bizarre creatures increased, however, none were a match for Adam and Cecilia.
This put the two slightly at ease, if the guards weren’t strong, the master wouldn’t be overly powerful either.
Finally, after walking for an unknown amount of time, they discovered an ancient altar at the bottom of the ferry’s hull, covered in complex runes and patterns.
Over those runes and patterns, thick scarlet blood was flowing, in front of these runes, all the bizarre creatures paled in comparison, an intense evil aura rushed at their faces.
Those black creatures were continuously crawling right out from that very blood.
In the center of the altar sat a giant black egg, radiating a fiercely evil aura.
Thump, thump! A red glow rippled across the giant black egg, accompanied by a muffled sound, like the beating of a heart.
"Is this the source of it all?" Cecilia frowned.
Adam furrowed his brows tightly, he could feel the immense power within this giant black egg, as well as its spine-chilling evil aura.
He took a deep breath. "This should be it!"
"Cecilia, we have to find a way to destroy this source of evil." Adam’s gaze was firm.
Cecilia nodded, she understood the significance of this giant black egg to the entire ferry, if it wasn’t destroyed, they might never leave this bizarre ship.
The two exchanged a glance and charged toward the giant black egg simultaneously.
The Great Sun Golden Flame and the spirit sword in Cecilia’s hand erupted with dazzling light, striking straight at the giant black egg’s vitals.
The giant black egg let out a sharp cry, and a powerful evil aura instantly erupted, the surrounding bizarre creatures seemed to heed a summon, surging toward them frantically.
However, under Adam and Cecilia’s combined attacks, these creatures were completely unable to resist and were annihilated one by one.
All that remained was the giant black egg, urgently flashing with a red light on the altar! It seemed to be condemning their offense.
