The Heaven-Class Room
Thinking of this, Selena’s heart warmed. She silently followed behind Leon and looked at the back in front of her. She felt that it had become majestic and tall.
The corridor of the Treasure Pavilion snaked onward, under a ceiling carved with a formation that was as intricate as can be. Soft, golden light came from the lamps on the walls, and was reflected in the clean surface of the polished jade floors below. A faint scent of incenses was hanging in the air, mingled with the subtle fragrance of exotic treasures and medicinal herbs.
Leon walked without hurry in the lead.
His midnight colored robes moved softly with each stride, thin amethyst embroidered edges reflecting the light whenever the two were under a lamp, his shoulder length black hair cascading over the fabric of his robes. There wasn’t anything particularly done by his gait, yet Selena couldn’t help but watch him.
Maybe it was because she knew what sort of person he was.
He had never considered her a burden.
He never looked at her like somebody that was repaying a debt because he had brought her in.
He had given her a chance.
He had given her a place to stand and be in her own power.
And maybe that’s why when she looked at the girls doing their work in the Treasure Pavilion, she suddenly realized how precious that kindness had been.
A moment later she said to Rias, "Rias, you are right. This is the rule. However, I was lucky to have encountered Teacher, I would’ve become one of these workers if I hadn’t."
Her voice was quiet.
There was no resentment in it. Only gratitude mixed with a faint trace of fear.
Selena’s fingers curled slightly inside her sleeve.
She had never seriously considered what her life might have become if Leon had not appeared.
Now she had.
And she did not like the answer.
Rias smiled gently and reached out to stroke her fellow sister’s hair. Her long red hair flowed over her shoulders as she walked, catching the warm light of the Treasure Pavilion. Her large red eyes softened as she looked at Selena.
"Aren’t I the same?"
The words were simple.
But they carried more weight than they seemed to.
Compared to Selena, Rias might have been a little better.
At least, she had been born with a family and had possessed her own identity.
But how much better could she really have been if she had been married into a foreign country and turned into a tool for marriage?
A political agreement.
A beautiful bride.
A living symbol exchanged between households.
The thought alone made Rias’s smile fade for a moment.
She had seen enough of the world to understand that a cage did not always have iron bars.
Sometimes it was made of silk.
Sometimes it was called duty.
Sometimes it was called family.
And sometimes, the door was never locked because everyone expected you to remain inside willingly.
Selena looked at Rias.
Rias looked back.
Neither girl said anything else.
They simply exchanged a small smile before silently following Leon toward the private rooms.
Ahead of them, Cavir Walton continued leading the way.
The grey-haired man glanced back occasionally, making sure that the three guests were following. His black eyes remained respectful, and he did not dare to move too quickly.
After all, the person walking behind him was not an ordinary guest.
He was Leon.
A figure whose strength alone was enough to make even powerful sects cautious.
The Treasure Pavilion was bustling today.
Experts from various powerful sects had gathered inside. Occasionally, the aura of a cultivator would sweep through the corridor before being restrained again. Servants moved quietly between rooms, carrying trays covered with silk cloth. Somewhere deeper inside the building, the faint sound of bells announced the preparations for the coming auction.
Eventually, Cavir stopped before a magnificent private room.
He turned around with a polite smile.
"Respected One, this will do! This is one of the most luxurious private rooms in the Treasure Pavilion, the Heaven-class private room."
His voice contained a trace of pride.
This room was different from the ordinary guest chambers.
The door alone was carved from spiritual jade, and several defensive formations had been engraved into its surface. The moment Cavir pushed it open, a gentle wave of Mana swept across them.
Inside was another world.
The room was spacious and elegant. The floor was covered with a soft crimson carpet, while the walls were decorated with paintings of ancient mountains, rivers, dragons, and phoenixes. A crystal formation embedded in one wall allowed the occupants to see the auction stage below without exposing themselves.
Cavir actually wanted to say that only members of the highest level could enter this private room.
But the words stopped before they reached his lips.
He had already learned enough about Leon to understand one simple fact.
Some rules existed for ordinary people.
They did not necessarily exist for someone standing at Leon’s height.
With his Pinnacle Realm strength, not to mention a mere private room, even if Leon wanted to remain in the Treasure Pavilion indefinitely, there were very few people who would dare stop him.
So Cavir wisely kept that thought to himself.
Leon slowly walked into the private room.
His purple eyes swept across the furnishings.
A low table stood near the center, covered with delicate tea utensils. A spiritual incense burner released thin strands of smoke. Comfortable chairs were arranged around the room, while a large crystal screen displayed the auction hall below.
Everything was quiet.
Everything was refined.
Everything had clearly been prepared for people who were accustomed to being treated with extraordinary respect.
Leon looked around once more.
He was very satisfied.
"Okay, let’s do it here!"
He walked toward the luxurious armchair and sat down.
The moment his weight settled into it, the soft material sank slightly beneath him.
Leon blinked.
Then his shoulders relaxed.
"Yes, comfortable!"
