Grand Return System

Chapter 414: The Arrogant Prince

The Arrogant Prince

"Who is this esteemed guest that dares to snatch my private room?"

The voice was arrogant.

There was no hesitation in it.

No uncertainty.

It was the kind of voice that belonged to a man who had spent most of his life being obeyed.

A middle-aged man stepped through the doorway.

He was dressed in expensive silk.

The fabric wrapped around his broad frame, embroidered with intricate patterns that made his royal status impossible to miss. Several pieces of fine jewelry hung from his waist, catching the light whenever he moved.

His chin was slightly raised.

His expression carried the unmistakable pride of a man who believed his identity alone should be enough to make everyone around him lower their heads.

This was Prince Fu.

He entered the private room without waiting for permission.

His eyes moved across the room.

He took in the tables.

The furnishings.

The people.

Then his gaze briefly passed over Selena and Rias.

He barely gave them a second glance.

To him, they were nothing more than attendants.

There was no reason to pay attention to them.

His eyes continued moving.

Then they stopped.

Leon was sitting calmly at the center of the room.

The young man hadn’t moved.

Fu’s expression changed slightly.

His eyes narrowed.

This wasn’t what he had expected.

He had imagined an old powerhouse sitting inside.

Perhaps some influential noble.

Maybe even an expert belonging to one of the powerful sects.

Someone with enough status to make the steward deny a prince access to the room.

But instead...

It was a young man.

Fu stared at him for another moment.

"Why is it a young man?"

The words slipped from his mouth before he could stop them.

His brows drew together.

For a brief moment, confusion crossed his face.

Could this young man be from some powerful household?

The possibility made Fu’s expression loosen.

A faint smile almost appeared.

If that was all this was, then there was nothing to worry about.

He didn’t need to make a scene.

He only needed to apply a little pressure.

After all, this was the Drake Empire.

And he was its prince.

Who here would dare oppose him?

Fu straightened his robes.

The confidence returned to his face.

He took another step into the room.

Then Leon moved.

Slowly.

There was no sudden motion.

No display of power.

He simply turned his head.

His long black hair slipped over his shoulder as he looked toward the intruder.

His purple eyes met Fu’s.

For a brief moment, the two men simply stared at each other.

Leon didn’t speak.

He didn’t frown.

He didn’t show the slightest trace of anger.

There wasn’t even any impatience in his expression.

Only a faint smile rested on his lips.

It was a strangely calm smile.

Fu couldn’t explain why.

But that silence made him uncomfortable.

He had expected an immediate reaction.

Perhaps an angry retort.

Perhaps fear.

Even a respectful greeting would have been understandable.

Instead, Leon simply looked at him.

As though Fu’s arrival wasn’t important enough to interrupt whatever he had been doing.

Fu’s eyes hardened.

He was just about to speak when hurried footsteps came from behind him.

A steward quickly entered the room.

His face had already gone pale.

A thin layer of sweat covered his forehead.

The moment he reached Leon, he bowed deeply.

"I’m sorry."

His voice trembled slightly.

"I didn’t stop him and let him break in."

His voice trembled.

The steward was terrified.

He had been personally instructed by Cavir Walton before leaving.

He had been told repeatedly to take excellent care of Leon.

Not merely as an ordinary honored guest.

He had to treat Leon with the utmost respect.

Almost like his own father.

That was the exact level of caution Cavir had demanded.

If Leon became displeased...

The steward did not even dare imagine the consequences.

The entire Treasure Pavilion could suffer.

And yet this Prince James had simply forced his way inside.

The steward had tried to stop him.

He had tried explaining the situation.

He had even begged him to wait.

None of it worked.

James had insisted on entering.

The steward’s heart nearly broke.

He silently cursed his luck.

If you want to die, don’t drag me down with you.

I’m still young.

I haven’t even lived enough yet.

His palms were drenched in sweat.

He stood there stiffly, waiting for Leon’s judgment.

Leon merely waved his hand.

He did not blame him.

There was no need.

The steward immediately understood the gesture.

He quickly stepped aside.

Leon then turned his attention back toward Fu.

His expression remained calm.

He wanted to see what this man intended to do.

James carefully examined Leon.

His eyes moved over Leon’s clothes.

The midnight robes.

The thin amethyst embroidery.

The calm posture.

The composed expression.

The complete lack of fear.

James quietly assessed him.

He must be a young master from some household.

Perhaps he had some background.

But judging from his age, he probably didn’t have much real ability.

Young people like this often liked to show off.

They wanted the best of everything.

The most luxurious rooms.

The finest treasures.

The greatest attention.

Fu’s eyes flickered.

He had seen many such young masters before.

They spent enormous amounts of money simply to prove their status.

This private room was probably no different.

He must have paid a ridiculous price to reserve it.

Thinking about this, Fu’s confidence increased.

Instead of immediately becoming hostile, he deliberately changed his expression.

His arrogance disappeared.

A friendly smile replaced it.

He walked a little closer.

"Little brother, which household are you from?"

His tone was almost cordial.

Almost.

But beneath that friendliness was the certainty that Leon would answer him.

James did not believe a young man could refuse the Prince of Drake.

He clasped his hands lightly behind his back.

Then he smiled again.

"I am the one of the Prince of Drake, James. I took a fancy to this private room first. Can you give me some face and let me use this room?"
