Greymoor Academy: I Accidentally Bonded With Four Lycan Royals!
Chapter 229. Non-complianceChapter 229: 229. Non-compliance

Mercer flicked his thumb over my clit in the same second he pushed in. I sank my teeth into his palm to keep my cry hidden as I came hard enough that my whole body seized. I quivered around him in pulsing waves, sobbing softly as tears rolled down my temple.
He didn’t ease up. His eyes bore holes into mine, giving me no chance of an escape as he watched me while he worked me through the spasms, forcing the orgasms to drag out until my legs gave out completely and the only thing holding me up was Soren’s arm around my waist.
Only when the last tremor left me did Mercer pull his fingers free, and he stormed out of the room without looking back, nearly taking the door off its hinges when he slammed it shut.
Jericho followed, leaving Soren and I alone.
Soren dropped me and I fell back against the cold tiles, cold and exhausted and hurt.
I rubbed the tears off my face and angrily and swallowed my rising sobs as Soren returned to his seat, pulling the gloves off his hands and straightening his cuffs like the last few minutes hadn’t even happened.
I rose on shaky legs and sank back into my seat.
"Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, we can proceed with the ground rules for the duration of your trial."
"M-my trial?" I asked, voice drained.
Soren nodded. "Your crimes aren’t just against the Lycan Court, but also against the Wolves and the humans who died that night. Under normal circumstances, this would call for immediate execution. However, you are still a royal. It took considerable effort to invoke the law that entitles you to a formal trial period before any final verdict, but some strings were pulled, and you were bought some time."
I didn’t ask who pulled the strings. I knew it had to be him. And I wasn’t sure I wanted to know what he traded to pull strings like that. No one was above the law.
"On that note," he continued, eyes on the tablet, "you will remain in our custody until the Council reaches its decision. There will be no more running. The tracker in your neck ensures that. The initial recommendation was a correctional facility. That has since been overridden and a more neutral location was chosen."
I let out a raw, humorless breath. "Let me guess. The Council’s dungeons?"
"The Academy grounds."
I stared at him. "You’re not worried I’ll snap and start murdering students?"
Soren tilted his head. "Things have changed since you left. There have been disappearances since the night of Samhain all over Ashbourne. Students to be precise. This called for more protection on the Academy’s grounds. Greymoor is now one of the most heavily guarded and secured locations in Ashbourne, second only to the castle itself–"
"Disappearances?" I echoed.
"That is classified information. Nothing a criminal should worry about," he answered, and I tried not to flinch.
He continued, "You will be monitored at all hours. Every place you go, every person you speak to, every interaction you have. There will be no unsupervised movement. You will attend all scheduled classes and maintain full academic participation.
"The Council wants proof that you are not a sociopath, a danger to others and are capable of existing within structure. Reverting to the obedient, high-performing student you once were will be noted in your favor. Any form of recklessness will not be condoned."
I felt a headache beginning to form.
"You will reside at the Lodgings, at the topmost floor. The four of us will take rotating responsibility for your supervision. At least one of us will be within the same building at all times. You are not permitted to lock us out. You are not permitted to refuse entry. A curfew will be set and communicated to you in due time. If your location shows you aren’t where you should be at any given time, you will be collected forcefully and confined to a cell for an indefinite period of time."
I bit back a snarl.
"Trial hearings will be held every ten days," he added. "You will be present, dressed appropriately, and silent unless directly questioned. Any outburst will be recorded as non-compliance."
He just kept going and I didn’t think there was an end to the list of rules. "You will not contact outside parties without permission. You will not leave the Academy perimeter. You will submit to weekly physical evaluations."
"Physical evaluations?" I spat vehemently, ready to throw hands.
Soren tilted his head. "The tracker will be checked for interference and replaced if need be. Your mental and physical health will be evaluated as well. Any signs of instability and unwellness will be reported directly to me."
"To you?"
He cleared his throat, ears turning a light red. "To the Council."
Before I could ask anything else, he cut in, "Any attempt to remove or disable the tracker, manipulate your guards, abscond, or break any of the set rules will result in the immediate revocation of trial rights and a recommendation for execution. They are not up for negotiation."
He said nothing else for a moment after that, watching me from across with unreadable eyes. Then his gaze lowered to my scarred neck again, and his eyes hardened. He stood, collecting his things. "You will be shown to your cell tonight and collected by morning by Quinlan. If you need anything–"
He stopped himself and shook his head, muttering something that sounded like, "Fucking pointless," under his breath. And then, he left.
I sat there in silence, staring around at the white walls. It might have been minutes. Or hours.
But when the door opened again, it was to reveal the one face I had been frightened to see again. One I wasn’t ready to face.
I stood from my seat on shaky legs as Jennifer stepped inside, Regina standing in the doorway behind her. There was Juliette with them, but my attention was on Jenny, my heart twisting with such horrible pain and guilt.
Her eyes were wet and bloodshot with tears and it took me a moment to realize they had probably watched the entire interrogation and heard what I said. It was in their dazed expressions and the anger I saw in Jenny. One that had never been directed at me before.
She crossed the room in three strides.
"Jenny–"
Pain exploded across my left cheek and blood filled my mouth as she struck me so hard, my lip cut. Her brown eyes–Lyon’s brown eyes flared with grief and anguish. "To think I stuck up for you." She grabbed me by my collar and wrenched me forward, so that all I could see was her face when she said, "You are dead to me."
