Through the thick walls of flesh, Li Wei heard a dull sound like thunder striking a great bell.
The sound made his ears ring. An inexplicable sense of dread washed over him as he listened, as if he were approaching danger.
Li Wei guessed the sound was likely the Ice Emperor’s heartbeat.
’The corruption has reached this far? No wonder the Ice Emperor was crying out in grief and begging for help.’
The Shadow Attendant stopped and turned to look back at Li Wei.
"It’s blocked ahead."
Their path ended here; there was no way forward.
Li Wei’s Spiritual Power barely managed to penetrate the substance blocking the blood vessel ahead.
After seeing what lay beyond, he didn’t hesitate to order the Shadow Attendant to break through.
BAM!
The Shadow Attendant broke through the substance clogging the blood vessel, and a large amount of bright red blood gushed out from the opening.
Li Wei and the Shadow Attendant pressed forward, pushing against the gushing torrent of blood to enter a major vein leading to the heart.
SQUELCH!
The moment they passed through the opening, the vessel behind them was crushed by an immense force, instantly flattening and staunching the gushing blood.

Blood streamed over Li Wei’s Magic Shield and poured into the Blood Lake below, looking like a waterfall of red silk.
The waterfall ceaselessly poured blood into the lake.
Yet the blood never overflowed, its destination unknown.
Li Wei turned and saw that there was more than one such waterfall of blood in the chamber.
More than any of this, Li Wei was concerned about Saint Xi’s whereabouts.
He concentrated for a moment, and a look of delight appeared on his face. Saint Xi was nearby.
They were so close that they could already communicate via their souls.
"Saint Xi, where are you? Are you in danger?"
Li Wei quickly asked about Saint Xi’s current situation.
Saint Xi only responded a moment later. "I’m safe for now. I’ve found the problem plaguing the big guy."
Li Wei’s expression flickered. "Stay where you are. I’m coming to you right now."
"Let’s go."
Li Wei said to the Shadow Attendant, and the two of them quickly flew toward Saint Xi.
After flying for a while, a red cliff wall appeared before them.
The path was blocked.
Now that he was closer, Li Wei could clearly sense Saint Xi just behind the cliff wall.
But there was no way through.
Li Wei approached the cliff wall. As his right hand touched its surface, he felt the immense Power contained within and its incredibly tough exterior.
’This must be the Ice Emperor’s heart.’
Li Wei hesitated. ’Should I punch a hole through it?’
’This is a critical area, a matter of life and death for the Ice Emperor.’
’If I do anything here, there’s no telling how the Ice Emperor will react.’
That’s why Li Wei was hesitating.
He wanted to find another way through.
Suddenly, Li Wei sensed a trace of pain from Saint Xi’s soul.
His heart tightened, and he quickly asked, "What’s wrong?"
Saint Xi replied, "Hmph, it’s nothing. I’ve just been caught."

He no longer had time to consider the consequences and ordered, "Shadow Attendant, break through here."
The Shadow Attendant obeyed, unhesitatingly launching an attack on the tough cliff wall before them.

It slammed a heavy fist into the cliff wall.
The incredibly tough wall trembled a few times, but that was it.
Seeing this, the Shadow Attendant pressed its fingers together, fusing them into razor-sharp blades.
SHINK!
The sharp finger-blades pierced the incredibly tough wall of the heart.
Li Wei urged, "Hurry."
A tiny flame flickered in his eyes. As the Shadow Attendant attacked with all its might, he too prepared for battle.
At his words, the Shadow Attendant’s hands moved like Lightning, creating countless afterimages.
In an instant, it seemed to have hundreds of arms.
SPLASH! RUMBLE!
Earth-shattering sounds came from the Blood Lake behind them; the repercussions of the Shadow Attendant’s attack on the Ice Emperor’s heart had begun.
Monstrous waves of blood surged toward them.
The hole the Shadow Attendant was carving began to shrink, and an immense Power pressed down, making it difficult for the creature to maintain its assault.
Li Wei’s eyes narrowed; he couldn’t worry about that anymore.
"Shadow Attendant, move!"
The Shadow Attendant zipped out of the hole.
A pillar of fire erupted from Li Wei—a Phoenix Fire Line conjured from Cyan Flame, its power terrifying to behold.
The heat, hundreds of thousands of degrees, instantly pierced the heart’s muscle wall, carbonizing the surrounding tissue and preventing the opening from closing.
Li Wei and the Shadow Attendant took the opportunity to pass through.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
The moment they were through, the charred flesh behind them began to crumble, crushed together by an immense Power.
Li Wei didn’t have time to worry about what was happening behind him; he looked forward.
"Li Wei!" Saint Xi’s voice was choked with sobs.
Spotting Li Wei, she cried out and flew toward him at top speed.
Li Wei’s gaze hardened as he looked past Saint Xi. Behind her was a figure radiating an overwhelming, evil aura.
