Ignoring the subtle pain echoing throughout his body, he increased the panels of his other attributes to take a closer look at what each stat did. He already knew the bare bones of them all from his experiences with games, but it never hurt to check.

Strength:

Governs the user’s physical power and exterior durability. Might reflects the user’s physical strength, allowing to further enhance one’s capabilities for athletic feats, which also increases physical damage of either hand or melee weapon. Toughness reflects the defensive measure of the user’s body, allowing them to mitigate further physical harm and increase the overall defense against physical damage. Endurance reflects the user’s stamina, increasing energy flow when doing strenuous activities and increasing regeneration rate.

So if I wanna be an athlete, Strength is definitely the attribute to focus on.

Though considering his talent and dealing with magic stuff, this would be considered the dump stat for himself. Though if he was honest, there was nothing wrong with keeping up Endurance and Might, since having high energy and a strong body would always make things easy in the real world. Toughness would make even hitting the log barely an inconvenience, which he wished he would have a lot more than just a measly 2 considering how painful that was. If the wolves actually got to him, he couldn't imagine how bad it would be for those fangs to rip his skin and muscle apart.

Next is…

Agility:

Governs the user’s speed, coordination, reflexes and dexterity. Speed reflects the user’s general movement, allowing for quicker mobility. Reflex reflects the user’s ability to enhance their reactions, allowing them to move quicker than thought and sense incoming danger with ease, allowing one to sense bloodlust from any foe. Dexterity reflects the user’s coordination and precision, allowing more refined control of their bodies. It increases the damage rate of thrown or ranged weaponry.

If Aidan planned to be a sneaky fellow, then Agility would be his main attribute. Though there are a variety of ways that make this attribute useful no matter where you go.

This actually looks like the sort of thing I should focus on next. There’s no better defense than avoiding the danger all together.

If he were to increase his Perception then his Reflex, then he would be the kind of guy that could sense incoming danger from miles away. Considering that Perception falls under Intelligence, that sounded like the kind of build he could start with, considering he had nothing on hand, literally.

Finally there was Vitality. This one was the easiest to understand.

Vitality:

Governs the user’s general health and internal resistances. Lifeforce reflects the user’s current health, increasing the health pool and health regeneration rate. Vigor reflects the internal structure of the body, increasing resistances against status conditions and bodily diseases. Charisma reflects the user’s outside appearance, refining the body to be attractive to others of their race. It also increases the aura of likeability for the user.

The last one got him stumped. He should’ve figured Charisma would do that, but if he focused on it, would he actually become handsome? That alone got him to think whether to put his points in, but the last thing he needed to focus right now were his looks. Nobody is going to like a man who’s naked regardless of any social norm.

Okay so that’s all the stats. I got 1 AP and 3 SP. Which should I increase?

He thought about putting points into Lifeforce so that he could recover faster, but if his whole plan is to avoid danger all together, then it might be a waste of points. All he needed to do was to keep a better eye out in his surroundings.

Since he increased his Intelligence, his Perception also increased, which now that he thought about it, his vision did improve slightly. He could see the dark forest a bit better than normal, capable of even seeing the blades of the grass finely enough, including the bits of rock and wood that were scattered about everywhere. What he needed right now was protective gear; in other words, clothes.

Man he really wanted some clothes right about now. If someone were to spot him, he would be known as an otherworldly pervert gallivanting through the woods at night.

He wasn’t so tired that he needed Endurance, and while increasing Might and Toughness sounded pleasing, it was only because of his need to have a stronger body. He wondered if by just exercising, he could gain some stat points like that. So wouldn’t it be better to put points in the stats that seemed borderline difficult to increase?

Once again, Vitality seemed to be perfect for putting points into that, but he already put aside that idea. That only left Agility, and he had a feeling he knew where to put his different points in.

He increased Intelligence with 1 AP, increasing Intellect, Wisdom, and Perception by one, while putting two stat points into Reflex and one final stat point into Dexterity.

The stat points in the two stats would make it so that he could avoid any other dangers while traversing in the woods, allowing better movement. He didn’t need to get out fast, he just needed to get out safe and in one piece.

He looked back at his status page, seeing that his MP pool had regenerated a bit more. It was now 22 out of 90 MP.

“Okay, so what now…?”

He stared at the field before him, covered in wolf remains from the ‘fight’ he had. He didn’t really consider it a fight, more like an outright slaughter made by an incredibly incompetent mage. He never wanted to see that sort of thing again if he could.

At the very least, give him some clothes and he’ll consider it or something.

Then an idea wormed its way into his head. He had a spell called Craft that allowed him to alter anything he could put his magic on, and it was at a convenient low price of 5 mana points.

He looked over to one of the wolves that had been pierced by his earth spikes, laying on the ground with its mouth hanging open, its dull eyes looking lifeless.

“...Technically, non-living things don’t have any will, right?”

At least, that’s what his brain thought up as he kept staring at the corpse of the wolf. What if he used the spell Craft to actually make some new clothes for him?

He stood up, ignoring the pain of his foot and knelt closer to the corpse of the wolf below. He struggled to put his hand on it for a while before touching the matted fur. It was rough and coarse, but it had that soft touch that one can make clothing out of, like making pelts.

He lifted his other hand and channeled mana into it. It glowed with that light bluish color before placing it onto the wolf. Then he imagined the wolf’s skin getting reformed and getting rid of the blood and organs.

An indescribable noise ensued deep within the wolf’s body, the skin wriggling like there were worms currently eating through the wolf’s insides. Then the entire body followed through, shifting and contorting upon itself in a disturbing manner.

Aidan almost let out gagged chokes as the body deformed and changed itself into something else, something that closely resembled a furred coat, one that he imagined were made from such creatures in his head.

It wasn’t a good imagination, but it was certainly something. What he was truly shocked to find was that it literally transformed into a coat. He pulled the coat off, and dozens of bones scattered down like a disturbing rainfall. Aidan groaned in displeasure at the sight, but when he pulled the coat closer to himself, it really became an actual wearable coat.

“I wonder if… ah, there we go.”

A square notification came up when Aidan stared at the coat long enough, trying to bring out the information through the system. He decided to just simply call it a simple scan for now as he read the description.

Horned Wolf Coat (Inferior)

A simple coat created through the literal corpse of a horned wolf. Caring nothing for the creature, the crafter altered the very makings of the wolf’s body to create this coat. It provides a nice covering for the torso, and the fur enhances warmth in chilly weather.

Aidan was a bit taken aback by the description, wondering if he could make it into something else. Perhaps he needed to do it while he was crafting with the spell? That sounded like a lot of work for just a description, but he decided to put that idea to the side for now.

Hesitantly, he wore the coat over his shoulders, putting his arms through the sleeves. It felt right to the touch, and it fit him well despite his worries. He was still naked from the waist down, a truly important feature he needed to fix right away.

“Just cuz’ I’m alone doesn’t mean I have to keep being naked.”

He looked over at the last remaining corpse of the wolf, still intact despite the multiple piercings of the soil beneath. Though when he thought about the transformation process of his skill, he recoiled from seeing such a thing again.

“There’s gotta be a better way…”

He walked over to the second corpse, his mind churning for ideas. He snapped his fingers.

“Wait, maybe if I just transform it all into energy first, then reform it into how I want?”

Technically he directly changed the body of the wolf through the use of vibrations. However, perhaps there was a certain resistance to that as well. What if he just broke it down into a mash pile, then formed it into his liking? Following that idea, he brought up Craft again to the surface, but this time he directed the flow of mana away from his hand into the air.

It followed slowly at first, as though there was a bit of resistance to it, but then in the inner part of his chest, something ‘popped’ into place, then the flow of energy exited out of his hand, becoming a large ball of blue light energy. Aidan chuckled in delight after seeing the change, moving the ball of light from one hand to another with ease.

“And then…”

If he knew how his magic worked, then he could just pull the wolf corpse from the ground and just throw it into the mash, right into the orb of light. The wolf was a lot heavier than he suspected, but he managed easily enough without losing control of his spell.

The entire thing just got absorbed into the light, and there wasn’t a trace of it left. He can imagine the entire body being dissolved into pure energy, left for his imagination to foster into whatever he wishes.

He focused on his imagination, feeling the spell creating his desired wishes as sounds escaped from the ball of light, bits of squishing and muffling, but it was faint. He was certainly glad to not see the process from earlier, and it was a lot easier to form now that it became nothing but pure energy.

With a big smile, he felt the energy within settle right into place before putting his hand into the orb of light he created for himself. By the time he pulled out of it, he carried pieces of clothing–one long pants that was slightly ripped in places and actual underwear.

He wasn’t quite sure how he managed to get the specifics behind it, but he supposed none of that mattered when it comes to magic, or the magic that he could use. He stretched the underwear a little, wondering if the material was made out of cloth or through the use of the actual fur.

“I guess as long as there’s mass, I can change it into whatever material I want. Something about equivalent exchange?”

He remembered that nothing could exist without the mass that inhabits it. That might be the reason why he ended up losing more mana using Rend compared to Craft as Rend basically forces the vibrations of the world to collapse onto the wolf, while Craft merely changes and alters the shape of the vibrations within the material.

Putting on the pair he created, he scanned the items to see the descriptions on both.

Horned Wolf Pants (Inferior)

Pants created using the parts of a Horned Wolf. Comfortable to wear and easy to put on or off. The slight rips on the pants provides an aesthetic look that is easy on the eyes.

…..

Horned Wolf Underwear (Inferior)

Underwear created using the parts of a Horned Wolf. Stretchy and easy to wear, and promises to give comfort to anyone’s private area.

He didn’t know what Inferior means, but he supposed that’s to be expected of making something out of nothing. Perhaps there might be more to this, but right now wasn’t the time.

Now, he was fully clothed, but he was still in the middle of the forest with nowhere to go. He thought about doing one last Craft on the other wolf that he used Rend on, but he had a strong feeling that it would be a waste.

Actually, that feeling became stronger now that he thought about it. It was as if the scattered bits of the first wolf he killed wouldn’t work out, as though it barely contained the parts that he needed to use Craft on.

Does this mean I can sense vibrations or something?

He looked at the blinking notifications that was still apparent on his vision, so he pulled them up to find quite a few surprises.

Spell Upgraded! Craft (Copper) became Craft (Bronze)!

…..

You have gained a title!

“First Craft”

You have created your very first item! Infinite possibilities await your dexterous hands.

+1 Perception

+1 Dexterity

…..

You have gained a new skill!

Sense Vibrations (Copper)

Allows you to sense the inner energy that exists within the fabric of reality. With some effort, you can sense vibrations from kilometers away and even through obstructed views.

There was new information this time, and one of them was an improvement of his spell. That must be when he decided to just mash them all together to make it easier for himself, and it looked like the spell liked that path so it evolved to fit.

The title should’ve been expected, but at this point it felt like getting achievements for doing the basic things in this world. Would a child get this title if they made a mudball on the ground and called it a craft? The extra stat points were nice, though.

But a new skill? From the looks of it, there was no cost added to it, so that means that skills were free to use. What got his interest was that it allowed him to feel out vibrations that exist within the world, and now that feeling he had about the Rended wolf became clearer.

There wasn’t enough material left over for his Craft to use, no ‘vibrations’ strong enough for his spell to take hold and use for himself. He was fine with that, considering he had no idea what else he could use, and he was starting to feel a little bad for the wolves he practically desecrated for his own convenience.

Then again, they did try to kill him, so screw them.

“Now, I think it’s time to get the hell out of here.”
