*BOOOOM!*
With a deafening boom, the crystal mountain came crashing down. A dense curtain of dust rose into the sky as a rain of gravel and energy fragments echoed throughout the valley.
Priam didn’t waste a single second. Moving like a blur, he began gathering and breaking apart the remaining chunks, turning them into small Wild Spirit Stones and storing them inside his spatial rings.
One by one, the storage rings were filled to their limits. Fortunately, like any prepared Mage who anticipated unexpected treasures, he carried dozens of spare rings.
Within a few minutes, the colossal mountain had been completely wiped off the map. Without looking back, Priam shot into the sky, disappearing over the horizon at maximum speed.
...
Some time later, sheltered inside a natural cave far from the danger zone, he finally took the gigantic egg out of the Life Ring.
Mirra hurriedly emerged from his inner space, running toward the rocky structure to channel nature energy through the shell.
However, her expression immediately became serious.
Although the Calamity Toxin was present only in a subtle amount, its nature was truly sinister. Her power was useless.
However, when she turned anxiously toward Priam and saw his calm expression, the girl immediately felt relieved.
"Pry... when my power comes into contact with it, it just makes the poison react even more violently!"
Priam nodded with a calm smile. "Great, that’s exactly what I need. I have a plan."
Taking a deep breath, Priam began manipulating two stored energies. Pure Yin and Yang, combined with the natural essence of a medicinal herb.
He synthesized them, then created the *Power Rune: Yin-Yang Absorption*.
This was one of the advanced syntheses he had recently learned. The concept was brilliant in its simplicity: the rune created a point of attraction capable of sucking in and sealing any energy or power based on the polarities of Yin and Yang. Afterwards, he could use it as if it were a rune originally made from whatever had been absorbed.
"Mirra, use all the nature power you have at once," Priam instructed firmly. "I need the toxin to react with full force so I can eradicate it all at once."
Mirra nodded, her eyes shining with determination. She converted all her Ether into pure nature energy through her own Jade Core.
Priam preferred for her to use her own energy instead of the power of her Pristine Core. The intention was to provoke the Calamity Poison just enough—as if poking a sleeping tiger to make it leap.
The Calamity Poison had no real consciousness, but it behaved in an almost predatory manner: whenever it sensed purifying energy trying to neutralize it, its natural tendency was to rise violently and devour it.
That was the most terrifying characteristic of this poison. Normally, healers used their energy slowly, healing little by little. But if you didn’t have overwhelming power capable of removing it immediately within seconds, the poison could devour that energy to strengthen itself, making it increasingly impossible to remove.
Mirra pressed both hands against the egg’s shell, releasing a vibrant wave of verdant energy.
As expected, the millisecond her nature energy seeped through the cracks in the rock, the awakened poisonous aura reacted violently. Black, putrid tendrils burst from the shell, expanding like tentacles to devour Mirra’s strength.
It was the perfect opening.
Priam activated the Power Rune.
The instant the toxin fully emerged to attack, the rune in his hands transformed into a true black hole. An irresistible vacuum locked the toxin in the air, sucking every last trace of the poison out of the rocky shell and sealing it inside.
Within seconds, the air stilled, and the process was complete.
Priam let out a satisfied sigh as he stored the Power Rune, now saturated with poison. ’Nothing goes to waste. This concentrated poison could be pretty useful in the future...’
He thought for a moment. ’Once I have more points, it would be a good idea to prioritize expanding my stock of Power Runes.’
Currently, Priam could maintain only two Power Runes simultaneously. But now that he knew several new syntheses that would be good to keep stored, having an extra slot would be valuable.
Mirra carefully examined the egg with her senses. Upon realizing that the poison had been completely removed and the fetus’s vitality had begun to stabilize, she broke into a radiant ear-to-ear smile.
Priam smiled softly at the girl’s genuine excitement. To Mirra, those beasts were like distant relatives; after all, she was a Beast too, in theory. Seeing her joy proved just how empathetic her heart was.
With the treatment finished, Priam put the gigantic egg back into the safety of the Life Ring.
"This Heavenly Beast is still going to take quite a while to hatch. When we meet Dandara again, I’ll give it to her. She’ll definitely know how to nurture and train this little creature properly," Priam said calmly.
Mirra nodded in satisfaction and returned to the inner space.
They couldn’t afford to waste any time. After all, they had already lost precious months in that abyss.
Walking to the cave entrance, Priam gazed at the horizon, calculating the direction.
’Hmm... according to the geographical information I gathered from the Impure Beasts, if I head west, I should reach the Azure Forest.’
With a light leap, he began running continuously.
...
Priam knew of three ancient training and trial grounds in that Inner Realm.
The Azure Forest stretched for millions of kilometers, constantly radiating a bluish aura over the vegetation. The phenomenon was due to the deep connection between its flora and the Water element, making it the perfect birthplace for the formation of extremely rare Yin treasures.
Under the dense canopy of the trees, unimaginable dangers lurked. Although it looked like a peaceful forest at first glance, a careless Mage could lose their life in the blink of an eye.
The visible dangers were easy to deal with; the real threat lay in the invisible ones—where a single poisonous ant or a hidden splinter could melt a Mage’s flesh in seconds. By the time the victim realized the danger, they were already a corpse.
Despite the risks, the vastness of the Azure Forest held relics from forgotten eras and invaluable medicinal herbs. In that realm, the deadlier the territory, the more incredible the rewards.
Priam intended to explore every corner, but time was working against him.
After a few hours of running at high speed, a bluish horizon finally appeared before him.
The visual contrast was hypnotic. While the sky throughout the entire Inner Realm had a strange scarlet hue, the forest glowed with a mystical blue aura, creating a scene of pure magic.
However, as soon as he reached the edge of the vegetation, Priam stopped after noticing three presences. One man had cornered two other Mages, blocking their escape.
"I’ll only say this one more time: hand over your spatial rings and get the hell out of my sight," the aggressor said disdainfully.
Priam’s eyes flashed. He recognized the guy. He was one of the Faction Leaders of the 8th Branch. At the entrance, he had been standing near Validar and Dioma, making his status clear.
"Zagnior, how dare you?! We’re disciples of the same Sect!" one of the young men roared indignantly.
Zagnior was the name of the faction leader in the center. The mere aura he emitted kept the two young Mages completely paralyzed with fear.
"You’re a Faction Leader from the most influential branch, and you’re extorting ordinary disciples? Aren’t you afraid of ruining your reputation?" the other young man protested, trembling.
Zagnior gave a mocking smile. "Come to think of it... you’re absolutely right. In that case, to preserve my precious reputation, I have no choice but to kill you two!"
His aura exploded with icy violence. With a casual gesture, Zagnior struck toward the pair with a palm-shaped attack.
The pressure was overwhelming. The two young men stood frozen like statues, unable to react. They could only watch in horror as the energy palm approached to tear them apart.
"You bastard! You won’t die peacefully!" At the height of his desperation, one of the disciples burned the last bit of his strength just to curse his attacker.
Zagnior sneered. Although these two weren’t from the 11th Branch, he had no hesitation whatsoever about killing them. Besides, the two seemed to have gotten lucky in the forest, and their spatial rings surely contained some profitable surprises.
His attack was just inches away from hitting them. It was exactly at that moment...
"I’ll help you. After all, a dead man can’t lose his reputation."
A dry voice echoed in Zagnior’s ear.
He froze in the middle of his movement and turned his head in surprise.
In that instant, all he saw was a black branch shooting toward his face like a deadly bolt of lightning.
