“Cole, please leave, okay? I...ahh...feel very uncomfortable with you here.”
Cole looked at her again.
At that moment, she was in the steamy hot spring pool, her long, jet-black hair dripping wet, with a few strands clinging to her delicate face.
Her cheeks were rosy, like a delicate blossom, and she was breathtakingly beautiful.
Cole couldn’t help but recall the moment she had appeared before him in that purple swimsuit...
It had been nothing more than a fleeting glimpse, yet it lingered in his mind, tugging at his heart.
He never imagined she could be this beautiful. But the thought that this beauty no longer belonged to him, but to another man...
Cole clenched his fists. “Lana...”
Alana seemed to guess what Cole was about to say and couldn’t help but interrupt, “Cole, please, just leave, okay? If you don’t leave now, I’ll call for help!”
Cole saw the anxiety and fear in her eyes and took a deep breath. “Alright, I’ll go.”
After a moment’s pause, he couldn’t help but remind her, “Everyone’s looking for you so we can all go out to eat together. Get ready...don’t keep them waiting too long.”
Alana nodded eagerly. “Okay, okay. You go ahead and leave. I’ll get ready and meet
up with everyone right away.”
Cole could tell she was trying to get rid of him as quickly as possible. His gaze swept over the pool once more; he pursed his thin lips but said nothing, simply turning to leave.
As he left, he closed the door behind him.
Seeing that Cole had truly left, Alana finally let out a sigh of relief.
But suddenly, Stephan had stopped moving.
There was no sign of moving in the pool.
She couldn’t help but feel anxious again. “Stephan?! Stephan, Cole has left. You can come out now!”
“Stephan, come out now!” Alana called out several times in a low voice, but Stephan still didn’t emerge from the hot spring pool.
She instantly felt a wave of fear wash over her.
Could it be that...he’d already...
The more she thought about it, the more terrified she became.
Alana swam around, but sensing no sign of him, she couldn’t help but burst into tears. “Stephan, don’t scare me like that!”
“Waaah, what am I supposed to do if you’re dead?”
Just as she was panicking and feeling helpless, the man’s jet-black head suddenly popped up out of the water.
Seeing his handsome face emerge from the water, Alana was both startled and overjoyed.
She couldn’t help but swim up to him and hug him tightly.
“Stephan, you scared me to death! For a moment there, I thought you had drowned.”
Stephan propped himself up, cupping her face with one hand.
Seeing her reddened, tear-filled eyes, his gaze darkened.
“Are you crying? Were you that worried about me?”
Alana clenched her fists and gave his chest a hard punch. “Stephan, I won’t let you play jokes like that again!”
He was such a big man, yet he suddenly vanished into the water, and she couldn’t find him...she was truly terrified.
She was afraid she wouldn’t find him, afraid of losing him.
Seeing the girl’s reddened eyes, Stephan’s heart stirred. He couldn’t help but lean down to kiss the wet corner of her eye, gently soothing her.
“Okay, I won’t joke around anymore.” Alana sniffled pitifully and continued, “And you’re not allowed to act so recklessly like that again!”
He fixed his dark eyes on her, feigning ignorance.
“Which part exactly?”
Alana couldn’t help but glare at him, her almond-shaped eyes brimming with annoyance.
“You know exactly what I mean!”
“Anyway, if you ever dare to mess with me like that again, I’m punishing you with a month of abstinence!”
Stephan frowned. “A month of abstinence? That’s practically a death sentence!”
“I don’t care!”
It was because she’d been too easygoing that this jerk had gotten so out of hand.
Just now, if she hadn’t quickly pushed his head into the hot spring, Cole would have caught them.
Just thinking about that scene...it was both dangerous and thrilling.
She was scared out of her wits.
Stephan pinched her pretty little cheek with a smirk. “Well, if that’s the case, I’ll just
have to force my love on you.”
Alana blushed and glared at him in disbelief. “You...you...you...”
That’s just too much!
“I’m going out. I’m not talking to you anymore!”
Stephan chuckled softly. Seeing his little white rabbit about to lose her temper, he knew when to stop and didn’t tease her any further. “Sweetheart, my dear wife, I was just joking. Don’t ignore me, okay?”
Alana said, her face flushing with embarrassment, “Anyway, just stay away from me for now. I don’t want anyone to find out you’re here.”
He smiled and retorted, “What’s the matter? Afraid Cole will find out you’re sneaking around here with me, up to no good?”
She glared at him again. How dare he say that?
Was what they were doing something they could show anyone?
Stephan chuckled, “Alright, come to my room tonight and sleep with me. I’ll play along with you for a bit.”
Alana was stunned. “Come over again tonight?”
Stephan smiled and asked, “Do you want to? If you want it, I can give it to you.”
She immediately shook her head. “No, no!”
He was too much; she couldn’t handle it.
Stephan raised an eyebrow. “Then come to my room. I’ll hold you while we sleep.”
She grimaced.
Just sleeping?
“I share a room with another colleague. If I go to your room, she’ll definitely find out.”
Stephan played the stubborn, deadpan card. “I don’t care. I have to hold you while I sleep tonight, or I won’t be able to fall asleep. If you don’t come sleep with me, I’ll sneak into your room and hold you while you sleep.”
She really didn’t know what to do with him.
She relented helplessly, “Fine, fine, I’ll figure something out. I’m going out first. You can’t leave until I’m gone, got it? Otherwise, you’ll be sleeping alone tonight!”
Stephan laughed.
Alana’s legs felt incredibly weak.
She silently cursed the man in her mind.
Only then did she slowly emerge from the hot spring, pick up the bathrobe from the floor, and quickly wrap it around herself to cover the suggestive marks all over her body.
She tied the robe in a hasty knot, glanced back at the man, and silently parted her rosy lips.
“Remember what I just said, or you’ll be in for it!”
Stephan chuckled, neither confirming nor denying her warning.
Only then did Alana find the courage to walk to the door and open it.
But to her surprise, the moment she opened the door, she saw Cole still standing outside...
The moment she saw Cole still standing outside the door, Alana’s heart nearly stopped from the shock.
Cole noticed the fleeting panic on Alana’s face and instinctively looked inside the door.
Alana reacted even faster, darting out and slamming the door shut.
Although she might have seemed like a guilty party, with Stephan still inside, she couldn’t worry about that anymore.
Alana closed the door just in time; even if Cole wanted to keep watching, he couldn’t see anything now.
Alana stood in the doorway, looking at Cole nervously. “Cole, why are you still here?”
He couldn’t possibly have actually seen or heard anything, could he?
Cole stared at the tightly closed door. “I wasn’t entirely at ease leaving you alone, so I stayed to wait for you to come out so we could leave together.”
Alana couldn’t help but say, “I’m out now. Shall we go?”
Cole lowered his gaze and glanced at her.
Although she had been trying to stay calm, the fleeting panic in her eyes betrayed her anxiety.
