This girl shooed that molester protagonist away. Perhaps she knows him, or he has done something to offend her, as she looked so against him.

Was she that underage girl?

"I’m 24 years old. How old are you?" Diana, who was walking ahead with Rakkas, suddenly turned and asked him.

Loid was taken off guard by her sudden, unexpected questions.

"Me..eigh... twenty-one years old. Why did you ask?"

She smiled, slowed her pace, and started walking by his side.

"No reason, just you look too young, so I was just curious"

The brown-haired guy gave Loid a cold death glare. This guy introduced himself as Rakkas, the loyal guard of Lady Thika. Loid was sure this guy didn’t like it when this pink-haired girl talked to him.

Loid decided to ignore this guy’s dislikes; what else could he do?

But seriously, she was 24 years old, look bearly adult to me. She sure lied about her age like me, but why did I lie though? I’m doing weird things.

"My Lady, I don’t think it’s a good choice to trust a stranger so easily.’’ The brawn-head said, swinging his sword, cutting the bushes, then turning his head, giving a sharp glance to Loid.

Oh man, you don’t need to target me; I’m already in a relationship, but I agree with you it’s not a good choice to trust a stranger...

"Don’t teach me, Rakkas!" Diana frowned and said in a cold voice, the exact opposite of the peaceful kind side she was showing just now. "And you will stop following me after entering the sect and introducing yourself as my guard..."

"But my lady" The color was drained from his face as he stopped his steps and looked at her like she stabbed him in the guts. "I..

"You think I don’t know why you’re here?" Diana didn’t show any mercy to his wronged expression; a slight trace of disdain appeared in her eyes.

"You’re wrong, my lady. Even though I was sent by your father, I won’t report..."

"It doesn’t matter; it’s already too late for anyone to control my life." Diana cut short his explanation.

Loid just stood there silently.

Okay, I’m pretending I didn’t hear anything, as they were pretending I’m not here...

Just as she suddenly looked toward him, her look softened immediately.

"And you keep walking with me; why did you stop?" Diana asked, smiling at Loid.

"Okay", Loid shrugged and walked. This girl changed her colors too fast.

"Tsk!" Rakkas gave him another sharp glare at Loid before turning and starting to walk ahead.

Loid didn’t know what drama was going on here, nor was he interested in knowing.

He just wanted to know about things that mattered to his situation, which would help him to meet with Elizabeth and Lalica.

He wanted to know about Beastheart or ask about whether they had any idea how or when this trial would end.

This way of taking a trial to enter a sect appeared very unfair to him, too much based on luck.

If some good, talented person encountered a strong opponent at the start, then he would be done for... while those who didn’t deserve it would get selected if he or she just had good luck and did not encounter any opponent.

Or, maybe they should have done something to handle this situation, and he was just not aware because if they didn’t, then it was so stupid to select disciples this way.

"Ask if you want to ask something." Diana turned her head toward him.

How does she know that I want to ask her something? Loid looked at her in surprise.

’’I don’t want to ask anything." He smiled and said casually. "Though why do you think I want to ask something?’’

Yes, he wanted to ask many things but decided not to. It’s better not to be seen as a suspicious person again because of his pointless questioning, since he didn’t know what information was common here or what was rare, so he was sure something flagged gonna slip from his mouth and make others guarded; he wasn’t even sure if they would believe him that he wasn’t from this kingdom or maybe even this world.

"Oh, that’s weird. I thought you would be interested to know about this trial, as that Sect Elder didn’t explain anything ’’ Diana said, and narrowed her light-blue eyes at him.

"Well, oh yeah, I just thought you didn’t know either, so do you know something ’’ Loid asked.

Seriously, if you ask questions, then you are suspicious, and if you don’t ask questions, then you are suspicious too.

"Good for you, I know." Diana chuckled. "Well, it’s simple; we just have to survive one day here. This round is just to eliminate a massive number who were just truly worthless, can’t even run away and protect themselves, fighting isn’t the true goal here ’’ Diana explained

"I see, but what if a strong opponent chased a talented guy and because of him he gets eliminated, but another guy who was a worst then him survived because of luck, won’t this be the wrong way to pick the best...’’

"Not really, sect believe luck is also part of the strength, and in the last round they can simply challenge people for their spots, but they have to pay the cost...They had to pay the entry fee to start the challenge round, and if they won, the money would be returned, but then there only those people challenge who are sure they will win, because if their opponent wins, they can simply choose to destroy their Beastheart, so it’s risky."

Loid raised his brows.

Now again, what is this beastheart? Destroying their beastheart sounds cruel. If I had to guess, it’s like a mana core; what else can it be? Mana core, Magic core. Aura core.. It must be a source of their power, right? Why do gave a such a fancy name, Beastheart? What role do the beasts play here? Should I ask her?

"How far away are you from awakening your Beastheart?" She asked, curiously.

Loid didn’t know what to answer her.

"Ah, I didn’t start the process yet.’’ So, He just said the truth.

"O God, why? You must have gone through some hard times. Everyone starts cultivation when they are just six. You must have gone through something very bad, not even trying to awaken a Beastheart. I heard some people just choose to die, give up on living... anyway, it’s better if you decide to awaken a Beastheart. Though don’t get too sad if you don’t awaken a Beastheart. Not everyone can awaken a Beastheart; it’s decided by their fate. Not everyone is born with a fate to become a Beastheart Master. Do you learn the cultivation technique?"

"A... no- not yet.’’ Loid was speechless; she said so many words in one breath. And this girl was making her own things and believing it. Sure, the world has all types of people.

" Don’t worry, when this trial ends, I will teach you," Diana said, confidently petting her own chest.

"T-thank you..."

"Who are you really, peasant? You don’t even try to awaken a Beastheart and don’t even know basic cultivation techniques when they’re available to everyone. Were you committed some crime and got imprisoned, or your parents..."

"Shut up, who gave you permission to talk to my friend like this?!" Diana snapped at him.

"What? My lady, I just.."

"Shut up, I never knew you were such a person. First, I was just, tsk, forget it; you are not worth it. Just make sure you know your place, or just leave if you have problems with people I’m trying to be friends with."

"I’m sorry, Lady Thika. I will be careful from now on, " Rikkas turned this time without giving Loid any warning glare.

Did I become the reason for their fight? Now I need to watch my back from him; for God’s sake, I didn’t do anything.

"Geaaa! Geaa!!’’

The sound attracted their attention.

’’ A beast coming this way’’ Rakkas clenched his sword tightly and held it in front, in the direction of the commotion caming there way: running horse-like footsteps, rustling of the bushes.

Soon, a big wild boar jumped out from the bushes. And stopped running after seeing them.

"Geaaa! Geaa!!’’

It didn’t look happy.

"It’s just a first tier,’’ Diana said, relaxing her shoulders and removing her hand from the hilt of her katana.

" My lady, I will handle it,’’ Rakka said.

"Whatever’’ Diana shrugged.

The Boar rubbed his feet on the ground, throwing mud behind before dashing toward them. Or you can say toward Rakkas as he stood in front of them.

I think I’ll get away from behind him.

Loid was about to walk, but he stopped by Diana.

’’Don’t worry, it just newly became a first-tier beast, so he can handle it easily. Thought, don’t move too much; you will attract its attention toward you, then it’s gonna chase you instead of Rakkas.’’ Diana warned.

"Oh, okay." Loid stopped on the spot and fixed his eyes on the fight. Finally, he could find out what type of ability they had, like some magic slash or something else.
