Soon they reached the front of the study hall building; it was another tall pagoda.
Loid counted; it had twenty-eight floors, but before they would enter, they were stopped at the gate by a fat figure in yellow robes.
He had a long, thick black beard and a big mustache with a bald, round head which was shining under sunlight.
But Loid’s gaze again moved to the pagoda, and specifically to the board above and the words written on it; that’s weird.
"I see, so new disciples were here, the bald fatty said. Greet great. " I’m sure Elder Wuhun didn’t explain anything to you guys; it was so like him- old fart hahaha!’’
He laughed loudly at his own joke with many other disciples who laughed with him, though they all together can’t match his loudness.
After a minute, he stopped laughing and spoke in a slightly serious voice.
"Well, then let me explain something to you guys. Those rules were important,nt so listen carefully... though now you were the disciples of the Divine Leaf Sect. But that doesn’t mean you guys secured this tag forever; you can still be kicked out.’’ He said loud and clear so everyone could hear him.
’’So hear the rules carefully if you guys want to become core disciples in this sect.’’
’’First and foremost rule, no law would be broken by anyone that was created by an Empress herself; if some break the Empress’s law, then that person would be killed immediately." His words landed like a supreme truth.
Every person became grim, especially many male disciples; they gulped for breath and touched their necks. Some just glared at the blade-fatty.
"Now then, don’t give me such a look; we need to see our own survival first after all. hahahaha.." He laughed for another minute before speaking again.
"So, if you guys want to bully other sects’ disciples, then you are very well allowed; just remember every law first. And killing anyone inside the sect was also not allowed. To settle the conflict, you can take in the arena."
"And when anyone hit the major breakthrough, then you must inform the hunting hall. You were not allowed to try to hunt beasts on your own; if anyone didn’t follow those rules, even if you came back alive, you would be punished severely."
"And to enter the inner sect or core sect, everyone needs to earn good merits. How? Well, after finding some treasure and giving it to the sect or completing the mission... and there was also a competition every five years you can try your luck there... "
His explanation went on for a while after he finally let them go.
"Now you guys can enter the study hall. Though don’t be loud..." He said, walking his way.
Every one start walking toward the study hall so did Loid and Diana. Loid glanced at the pink- haired girl beside him, who made a face as saying finally that the over-talking fat lady was gone.
Then she suddenly looked at him and smiled for no reason.
"What does he mean by hunting beasts?’’ Loid asked, he know what mean by hunting beasts, but specific hunting after breaking through, it would play some role in beastheart, right?
"After every major breakthrough, we need to hunt beasts to get their hearts and absorb those hearts into our beastheart. It will increase our strength and give us unique abilities, though abilities mostly depended on what type of beastheart you had awakened and what beast’s heart you had absorbed.’’ Diana explained to him without asking any questions back.
"I see..." Loid muttered and started thinking about what type of beastheart he would get, though he didn’t even know the types. And he wished to awaken a beastheart in a day like the Empress; Diana had told him. But if not a day, then in a month like Princess Zalanda, he didn’t want to spend more time on this, but he couldn’t do anything other than wishing and practicing whatever cultivation technique he was about to get inside.
"Are we allowed to leave the sect..’’ Loid asked,
"Yes... You want to go anywhere’’ Diana looked at him, raising her brows.
"No,’’ Loid muttered as they stepped inside the building. It was like a library, a really big library, with a smell of wood and dust.
" I will provide the best cultivation technique for you,’’ Diana said cheerfully.
Loid nodded, while thinking his luck was truly great in this world, at least in terms of meeting good people... then it became bad in just a few days...
He saw other people asking for help from people in light yellow robes; they probably had other disciples working for money or something else like merits.
Diana stepped ahead of him to pick a technique, and Loid followed her.
Just then, his gaze fell on the two guys... he knew, the protagonist and that big guy who attacked him in the forest.
Great, they met and seemed to become friends, well, just great.
Luckily, they were walking in the other direction, so they didn’t see him and Diana.
He was afraid those two would see them and come to talk, which he didn’t want.
He already knew nothing good was going to come out of talking; he didn’t like them, and they probably also hated him, so only conflict was going to happen... and since they can’t do anything to him here, then only bad mouthing, word quarrel, that’s all going to happen, which Loid hated and wanted to avoid.
He moved his gaze away.
After a while, Diana picked a green book for him, with a tree drawn on the cover.
"This was a good awakening technique, though awakening techniques were mostly the same, but this was counted as the best by everyone from the last six hundred years."
Loid took a book from her hand.
600 years. Don’t those people improve? Looks like people aren’t very experimental here.
Loid takes a look at what is written on it
