High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices
Chapter 469: New Martial ArtsXu Wuyi watched for a moment, having already reached a conclusion.
’This Spear Technique is a perfect fit for me.’
’The fire of my Golden Crow Burning Heart is overbearing and fierce, seeking ultimate lethality and incineration, but it lacks control. And the Gravity Manipulation of the Profound Nether Celestial Spear is the perfect complement for that. In battle, I can first use a Gravity Field to restrict an enemy’s movement before incinerating them with flames. Or, I can use flames to force them out of position and then trap and kill them with a Gravity Field, creating a perfect cycle of offense and control.’
"Redeem *Profound Nether Celestial Spear*," he decided.
"Redemption confirmed. 1,200 Contribution Points deducted."
Next, Xu Wuyi pulled up *Quicksand Step*.
In the demonstration video, a holographic Martial Artist sped across the sand, its footwork unpredictable and ever-changing, its form flickering in and out of sight.
At times, a single step would cause the sand to surge, propelling the body forward. At others, it seemed to blend into the environment, becoming difficult to track.
"The core of *Quicksand Step* lies in ’Leveraging Momentum’ and ’Stealth’," Anna explained. "In special terrains like deserts, marshes, or snowfields, you can use the environment to boost your speed and evasiveness. The footwork is also deceptive, capable of interfering with an enemy’s ability to lock on."
Xu Wuyi thought back to the battle in the Quicksand Star Realm.
’The Feathered People are skilled at aerial combat, and even their ground troops rely on wings for mobility. If I’d had a High-Tier Body Technique suited for desert terrain back then, hunting down the stragglers would have been much easier.’
’Redeem *Quicksand Step*.’
"Redemption confirmed. 1,000 Contribution Points deducted."
With two A-level Martial Arts acquired, Xu Wuyi didn’t stop there.
He then turned his attention to the Coreflame Iron, an item he definitely needed.
With his remaining points, Xu Wuyi thought for a moment before redeeming five uses of a Grandmaster-Level Restoration Pod and a set of twelve B+ Level Spiritual Stability Potions.
"Redemption complete," Anna’s voice announced. "All items will be delivered within the hour. The Martial Arts manuals will be transmitted as encrypted digital files to your terminal, which you can access to study at any time."
Xu Wuyi closed the light screen and leaned back in his chair.
’In just a few short minutes, I’ve spent tens of thousands of Contribution Points.’
’But it was worth it.’
’Improving a Martial Artist’s strength requires a massive amount of resources. Unspent Contribution Points are just a number. Exchanging them for tangible Martial Arts and resources is the proper way forward.’
About half an hour later, the doorbell rang again.
The delivery consisted of a fist-sized, dark red ore. Its surface had naturally formed, flame-like patterns, and it was warm to the touch. He could faintly sense the surging Fire Attribute Energy within it.
Coreflame Iron.
There were also two small boxes. One contained the Restoration Pod Permission Card, and the other held the Spiritual Stability Potions.
Xu Wuyi stored the Coreflame Iron, placed the Potions in a storage room, and linked the Permission Card to his personal terminal.
Once that was done, he summoned Anna again.
"Bring up *Profound Nether Celestial Spear* and *Quicksand Step*."
"Right away."
Two encrypted files were transmitted to his terminal and unlocked after identity verification.
Xu Wuyi didn’t rush to the Cultivation Room. Instead, he sat on the sofa, closed his eyes to focus his mind, and began to read the contents of *Profound Nether Celestial Spear*.
Text, diagrams, energy circulation routes, insights on Mental Realm Enlightenment... a massive amount of information flooded his mind.
Unlike the Martial Arts he had encountered before, cultivating the Gravity Attribute was a more abstract process.
It didn’t rely on tangible elements, but rather on the fundamental understanding and manipulation of "force."
A Cultivator first needed to perceive the surrounding Gravity Field, then use their Qi and Blood as a conduit and their Spirit as a bridge to establish a connection with it.
This was a new challenge for Xu Wuyi.
In fact, before he broke through to the Innate realm, given his understanding of the Rules, it would have been questionable whether he could have learned this Spear Technique at all.
’If one’s strength and understanding of Martial Arts are insufficient, it’s impossible to master a High-Tier Cultivation Technique, even if it’s handed to you for free.’
The fire of his Golden Crow Burning Heart was fierce and direct, focused on explosive bursts and incineration. Gravity Manipulation, on the other hand, required precise, sustained, and versatile Spiritual Control Power.
’I’ll give it a try first.’
Xu Wuyi stood up and walked to the Cultivation Room in the villa’s basement.
Taking the Liaoyuan Long Spear from the weapon rack, he took a deep breath, the technique for the Profound Nether Celestial Spear surfacing in his mind.
His Qi and Blood flowed along a specific path, while his Spirit extended outward like tentacles.
At first, he couldn’t sense anything.
The Gravity Field was formless and intangible; an ordinary person would be completely unaware of its existence. Xu Wuyi could only rely on the Cultivation Technique’s guidance to gradually "feel" it.
Ten minutes, twenty minutes...
Just when he thought he would make no progress for the day, he suddenly felt a subtle change.
The space around him no longer felt uniform.
It was as if the air was filled with countless invisible "lines," pulling everything vertically downward. These lines were dense, stable, and omnipresent—this was the Gravity Field.
Xu Wuyi tentatively used his Spiritual Power to "touch" one of the lines.
The moment he made contact, he felt a heavy resistance. It wasn’t a physical drag, but a kind of "weight" on the level of the Rules.
He carefully attached a wisp of Qi and Blood to his Spiritual Power, moving it slowly along that line.
Suddenly, the body of the spear grew heavy.
The once-light Liaoyuan Long Spear now felt at least three times heavier.
Xu Wuyi opened his eyes. As he looked at the long spear in his hands, realization dawned in them.
’So that’s how it works... I’m not directly changing Gravity, but ’borrowing’ the Gravity Field and applying it to the spear.’
He slowly raised the long spear.
As the tip of the spear moved, he could clearly feel the air grow viscous.
It wasn’t that the spear’s speed had decreased, but that wherever it passed, the Gravity was temporarily intensified, causing the air density to increase.
"First Stance, Juntian Stance."
Xu Wuyi stepped forward and thrust.
The thrust wasn’t fast; one might even call it slow. But as the spear moved, the air let out a dull, compressed groan.
Three feet in front of the spear tip, the Gravity was noticeably stronger. If an enemy were standing within this range, the damage they took would be greatly amplified.
The floor of the Cultivation Room trembled slightly.
"Second Stance, Profound Nether Pull."
He spun the long spear, its shaft tracing an arc through the air.
This time, Xu Wuyi attempted to alter the direction of the Gravity.
He locked onto an area to the spear’s right and, combining his Spiritual Power and Qi and Blood, briefly twisted the direction of Gravity in that area from "down" to "left."
The effect was minuscule, lasting less than half a second.
But Xu Wuyi could feel the air in that spot stir unnaturally.
’I still need a lot more practice,’ he thought, retracting his spear. He wasn’t discouraged.
’Gravity Manipulation is extremely difficult. Getting the hang of it on the first try is already a sign of decent talent.’
Next up was the Body Technique.
Xu Wuyi pulled up the contents of *Quicksand Step* and began practicing the basic footwork.
Unlike the Spear Technique, the Body Technique focused more on variations in footwork and physical coordination. The core of *Quicksand Step* was to "go with the flow," using the power of the environment to enhance mobility.
There was no sand in the Cultivation Room, but Xu Wuyi could practice the basic footwork on the regular floor for now.
Following the diagrams, he began to move.
