High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices
Chapter 491: Feathered People GatheringAt the same time, on the other side of the Tianshui Star Realm, deep within the Feathered People’s Raging Tide Fortress.
Inside a massive virtual conference hall, fifteen figures stood in a circle.
They were not physically present, but had projected their consciousnesses here through a spiritual link constructed by a High-tier Priest.
Although the Feathered People Civilization was also technologically advanced, it differed from the Federation. A large part of its foundation relied on Spiritual Power, rather than basic electromagnetism.
This was the natural choice for a civilization with innately powerful spirits. The Federation had learned some of their ways after making contact, with runic technology being one such result.
Each figure was shrouded in a faint gray halo, the phantom of wings unfurling behind them, emitting powerful Energy Fluctuations.
This was a gathering of all the Feathered People’s Sub-King Level powerhouses in the Tianshui Star Realm.
In the center of the conference hall, a massive, dynamic sea chart was suspended in the air.
Clearly marked upon it were the locations of three strongholds destroyed within the last five days, as well as the Federation forces’ routes of attack.
Every point marked in red represented a disastrous defeat.
"Have you all had a good look?"
The figure of light and shadow in the head seat spoke, his voice hoarse and low, filled with suppressed rage.
He was the guardian of the Raging Tide Fortress and the supreme commander of the Feathered People forces in the Tianshui Star Realm: "Gray Wing" Helos, a peak Sub-King Level expert.
"In just five days, we’ve lost over fifteen hundred elite warriors, twenty-three Priests, twelve patrol cruisers, and two resource platforms."
With every number Helos announced, his voice grew a shade colder.
"And what price did the enemy pay? Zero. Absolutely zero!"
The conference hall fell deathly silent.
"Can anyone tell me how that human, Xu Wuyi, actually managed to do it?" Helos’s gaze swept over everyone present.
"I’ve read the battle reports from the Quicksand Star Realm. At the time, I thought it was due to carelessness, an intelligence failure. But now, the same thing has happened three times in Tianshui!"
Although the Quicksand Star Realm was important, it was nothing compared to the Tianshui Star Realm.
Here, the two sides had gathered nearly forty Quasi-Grandmaster Level experts, and the number of Innate and Priest Level combatants was countless. This was already one of the primary battlefronts.
A tall figure of light spoke in a low voice, "Lord Helos, according to descriptions from survivors on the front lines and analysis of residual Energy, this person’s Heart Image fire possesses extremely strong area-of-effect damage and continuous burning Traits."
"Our Energy Shields and Priestly incantations cannot effectively block it. Once he cuts into the center of the battlefield, our ordinary warriors are completely powerless to fight back."
"Then why did you let him cut into the center of the battlefield?" Helos said coldly. "What about our reconnaissance? Our early warnings? What about the Sub-King Level expert we had stationed there?"
Another figure of light gave a bitter smile. "His raids are too fast. Every time he makes a move, he’s closely protected by at least two human Quasi-Grandmasters, including ’Iron Wall’ Tie Zhan."
"Once our Sub-King Level expert is tied down by them, even for just a few minutes, it’s enough time for Xu Wuyi to clear the field."
"Moreover..." a third voice added hesitantly, "the humans seem to have mastered some sort of advanced illusion and interference technology."
"During the third attack on the fleet, our detection systems only picked up the abnormal Energy Fluctuation three minutes before the incident, and by then it was too late to mount an effective response."
Helos fell silent.
’Of course, he knew these reasons were all facts.’
’But a loss was a loss.’
"This Xu Wuyi... must die." After a long silence, Helos spoke slowly, the killing intent in his voice almost tangible.
"He killed nearly two thousand of our people in the Quicksand Star Realm, and now over a thousand more in Tianshui. If we let him keep slaughtering like this, the morale of the entire Star Realm will collapse."
"But, Lord Helos," someone pointed out, "the humans are protecting him with extreme care. During all three raids, he was accompanied by two or three Quasi-Grandmasters."
"Even if we gather several Sub-King Level experts for an ambush, we might not be able to break through their protection quickly. If there’s any delay, human reinforcements will arrive."
"Then let’s change our approach." A gray light flashed in Helos’s eyes. "No more bait."
All eyes turned to him.
"Order all outer strongholds and patrol fleets to pull back the defensive line completely. Abandon all non-essential resource points and concentrate all forces in the five main fortresses," Helos said, pointing to the sea chart.
"If the humans want to advance their front line, they’ll have to attack our fortresses. And Xu Wuyi can only be in one place at a time."
"You mean... an all-out war?" someone asked in astonishment.
"Not an all-out war. We’re luring them into attacking," Helos sneered. "The moment Xu Wuyi shows himself on any front, we will immediately gather all available Sub-King Level forces and, at any cost, forcefully crush him."
"Even if we have to trade three Sub-Kings for his one life, it’s worth it."
Gasps echoed through the conference hall.
’Three Sub-Kings for a single Innate?’
’The price was just too high.’
"You think it’s not worth it?" Helos’s gaze swept over them. "Then tell me, if we let him continue to grow, what happens when he advances to the Quasi-Grandmaster, or even Grandmaster Level? How many lives will we have to sacrifice then?"
No one answered.
"He is the most terrifying military Genius the human Federation has produced in a century, a monster born specifically to slaughter massed forces," Helos’s voice was resolute.
"He must be eliminated before he has fully matured. To that end, any price is worth paying."
He paused, his tone softening slightly. "Of course, we won’t actually trade three for one. My plan is to mobilize at least six Sub-King Level experts the moment he shows himself. We will use our absolute numerical superiority to encircle and annihilate him."
"At the same time, we’ll launch feint attacks on other fronts to tie down the other human Quasi-Grandmasters, preventing them from providing support."
"Six..." someone murmured. "The humans only have a dozen or so Quasi-Grandmasters in the entire Tianshui Star Realm. Mobilizing six at once... we would indeed have a chance to break through their defenses quickly."
"But that’s all on the condition that Xu Wuyi will take the initiative to attack our fortresses," another person questioned. "The human commanders aren’t fools. They’ll see that we’re pulling back our defensive lines and concentrating our forces. Under these circumstances, would they still dare let Xu Wuyi risk a direct assault?"
Helos smiled, but it was a cold smile.
"They will," he said. "Because the humans, just like us, need victories. They need to advance the front line."
"Xu Wuyi is the sharpest blade in their arsenal. Now that it’s been drawn, they won’t sheathe it so easily. As long as the opportunity we present is tempting enough... they will definitely take the bait."
His gaze fell upon the sea chart, landing on the Feathered People fortress closest to the human’s Mountain Stone Base—Broken Star Castle.
"Weaken Broken Star Castle’s defensive forces by thirty percent. Reduce its patrols, adjust the fluctuation frequency of its Energy Shield—and this can’t be a disguise. It must be a genuine weakening. The intelligence department will coordinate to ’leak’ this information to the humans."
