Chapter 2095: Chapter 596: Got It, My Dear Husband_2

"Sigh! President Mu! Honestly..."

Zhao Huai suddenly remembered that Yang Qin was in the car, so it was no surprise when he lifted his eyes to glance at the rearview mirror. In the back seat, Mu Yichen was resting with his eyes closed, while up front, Yang Qin’s expression looked dejected.

Maybe it was because he noticed he was being watched, President Mu quickly isolated the entire back row. There was a bit of movement in the front, and Zhao Huai instinctively said to Yang Qin, "Check whether it’s raining in Feng City."

"Okay."

Yang Qin agreed, but her voice was very dry.

"There’s water next to you. If you’re afraid of the cold, you can heat it up."

Zhao Huai added another sentence to her.

Yang Qin suddenly chuckled lightly. "I still have to thank you guys for what happened with Zhang Hongyun."

Just that one sentence of concern from Zhao Huai made her feel how important colleagues were. Their thoughtfulness even made her feel a little guilty.

"We didn’t really do anything. We just hope you won’t hold a grudge over what we did before."

Zhao Huai glanced at her again.

"I forgot about that a long time ago."

Yang Qin smiled as she spoke to him, then turned to look out the window.

The brotherhood between those three was admirable and enviable, but as someone so small and insignificant, she wasn’t going to risk her neck running headlong into the barrels of their three guns. Since she was the one with the least status, she’d just be even more humble, endure a little more.

After that, the car fell into absolute silence again. After driving for more than ten li, the sky cleared up.

——

At noon, only Qin Mu and Qin Mingzhu ate together. Wang Li and Xiang Hang went for a checkup.

The two of them found a wonton shop and ordered two big bowls of wontons. Qin Mingzhu looked at the bowl that was bigger than her face. "If I can’t finish this, they’re not going to say I’m wasting food, right?"

Qin Mu was just about to start eating when she looked up and saw her comparing her face with the bowl. She let out a helpless little laugh. "If you can’t finish it, I’ll eat the rest for you."

"You’ll eat it all? Since when can you eat that much?"

Qin Mingzhu gave a noncommittal smile. She didn’t think Qin Mu could eat that much.

"You’ll see in a bit."

Qin Mu said as she started eating.

Although Qin Mingzhu was a bit flustered inside, she still picked up the spoon, gently blew on it, then slowly put a wonton into her mouth. She hadn’t eaten this stuff much before, but after spending a lot of time with Qin Mu, it went from noodles and dumplings to wontons.

There were so many big restaurants nearby, but Qin Mu never took her to any of them. Qin Mingzhu could only resign herself to eating whatever Qin Mu brought her to.

But the wontons really did taste great, and the soup was delicious too. After a few bites, Qin Mingzhu couldn’t help saying, "Mm, this is pretty good. I want to bring Huanyu over to try it. He loves these flour-based foods the most."

"So that woman who never had a heart is finally growing some flesh around it now? You even know to save something tasty for your husband?"

Qin Mu looked at her and suddenly had the feeling that her own child had finally grown up. She wondered if President Mu felt the same way about her as she did about Qin Mingzhu.

"I’m not that bad. I was just a little young and clueless, okay?"

Qin Mingzhu couldn’t help but act spoiled again, but she suddenly thought of how Qin Mu was the same age as she was, and her voice instinctively dropped on the last few words.

Qin Mu snorted a laugh. "Hurry up and eat."

Being let off the hook, Qin Mingzhu hurried to eat.

The two of them had just finished lunch and were about to leave the shop when it started raining again outside. A bunch of young people who’d come out to eat didn’t seem to have the habit of bringing umbrellas, and now they were all stuck in the shop, just like them.

Bored, Qin Mingzhu ordered two drinks and sat by the window with Qin Mu to enjoy the rain for a while. Then something occurred to her.

"Sis, did that person come to you again?"

Qin Mingzhu had one hand propping up half her face as she asked Qin Mu.

"He did me a favor that day. Today I paid him back a favor."

Qin Mu explained calmly.

"He did you a favor? What do you possibly need his help with?"

Qin Mingzhu looked at Qin Mu skeptically.

Qin Mu leaned back in her chair and glanced out the window. "That day I took the two old gentlemen to Jixiang Restaurant for a meal. The grandpas wanted the best table on the second floor, but he’d already reserved it. Later, he gave it up for me."

"So he said you owed him a favor for that? He’s shameless."

Qin Mingzhu looked like she knew that man all too well.

"He didn’t do anything overboard, so let’s just call it even."

Qin Mu said.

"Hmph! Good thing it’s over. If it wasn’t, just wait till I see him next time, I’d roast him to death. No, even if it’s over, he better not let me run into him, or I’m still going to roast him."

Qin Mingzhu’s posture looked lazy and disheartened, but that mouth of hers was sharp as ever.

Qin Mu couldn’t help but laugh. "You’re standing up for me now?"
