Hogwarts: Bloodline Legend

Chapter 1092 - 344: Journey to Ancient Egypt (Part 3)

Some say it’s the personification of nature worship, some say it’s a tool for consolidating the pharaoh’s regime, and some even propose a bold hypothesis—the Egyptian Gods might be extraterrestrial beings.

In fact, the rumor that the pyramids were built by aliens is quite prevalent among the Muggle community. Precisely because of this, after the gods of Northern Europe and Greece were closely tied to extraterrestrial Titans, Ian’s speculation that the ancient Egyptian gods might also be connected to aliens is not entirely without merit. Is the origin story of Magic the process of extraterrestrials dividing Earth’s gods?

"Ancient Egypt... the era when gods walked among the human world."

He murmured softly, fingers unconsciously caressing the Greek spoils in his Money Bag, "I wonder what the difference is between the ’gods’ here and those folks from Olympus."

The scorching sunlight baked the yellow sand, the heatwave distorting the distant contour of the Pyramid.

"No matter what, seeing is believing." Ian stood on a sand dune by the Nile Riverbank, his deep green eyes slightly squinting as he examined this ancient and mysterious land.

He traveled north along the Nile River for half a day.

Ian arrived at one of the most prosperous cities of Ancient Egypt. The towering Obelisk reached the skies, the Temple’s colonnades were covered with hieroglyphs, and street vendors on both sides hawked dates, linen, and shiny glassware. The air mixed with the scent of spices, baking bread, and river mud, with the priests’ long chanting echoing from afar.

To avoid being too conspicuous and standing out, Ian made some local disguises without needing to purchase clothing, which of course was no challenge for a master of Transformation Technique.

It’s just a matter of Magic.

"Magic is really useful." Ian, draped in a linen Cloak, hid his green eyes in the shadow of the hood as he walked leisurely among the crowd. His outfit wasn’t out of place, as this was a bustling international city, where foreigners from Nubia, Hittite, and Crete were everywhere.

"Fresh figs! Figs blessed by Amun!"

"Protective Talisman! Eye of Horus Protective Talisman! Can fend off Evil Spirit!"

"Nile Perch! Caught just this morning!"

The calls were ever-present, Ian stopped in front of a stall selling Protective Talismans. The stall owner was a one-eyed old man, his neck adorned with various Scarabs and Ankh Crosses.

"Foreigner, want to buy a Protective Talisman?" The old man grinned, revealing several gold teeth, "The Protective Talismans here are blessed at the Karnak Temple!"

What a fellow.

This familiar tone.

Truly different eras, but the same marketing strategy.

"More honest than the Ancient Greek Temple, I dare say."

Ian picked up an Eye of Horus Pendant, his fingertips gently caressing the patterns on it. A weak Magic Power fluctuation emanated—not an illusion, these Protective Talismans indeed contained some sort of extraordinary power. Certainly, it’s not Divine Power, just the Wizards’ Alchemy Creation, yet still truly extraordinary.

"This thing is really interesting." He tossed the old man a piece of Greek Silver Coins, "Do your Temple priests... really ’bless’ these trinkets?"

The old man took the silver coin and bit it, his smile even brighter, "Of course! Every new moon night, the High Priest prays for our goods at the Holy Altar. However—"

He lowered his voice, "The most efficacious ones are those ’true god-blessed’ Holy Artifacts, and if you want to obtain them, you need to undergo the trials of the gods..."

He recognized Ian as a Wizard.

So he played to his interests.
