Homo Sapiens

Chapter 136: Forceful Takeover

June 5th.

Wu Xinlan and the financial office of the Internal Affairs Division completed their final move, acquiring all of the remaining 1.5% of floating shares on the stock market.

This meant that Donghua Group now had only three shareholders: Homo Sapiens Company with 54.1%, Wu Heguang with 34%, and Wu Xinlan with 11.9%.

That same day, Wu Xinlan convened a board of directors meeting.

In attendance were Wu Xinlan, several managers from the Wu Family, Kong Zhao Lin’s father Kong Jide, and Wu Heguang’s sister Wu Mingyue.

Also present were over a dozen other executives, including President Huang Kang of the parent company and Gao Ming, the General Manager of Donghua Investment.

Just then, the doors to the conference room opened. A secretary hurried in and whispered a few words in Wu Xinlan’s ear.

Wu Xinlan’s brow furrowed. "Let them come up."

"President Wu, are there more shareholders coming?" Huang Kang asked, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

Wu Xinlan was falling apart inside. She could only watch, her body remotely controlled by Gao Ming. "I’m not sure. You’ll know when they get here."

Gao Ming, standing to the side, inwardly sneered at the clueless fools before him.

A moment later, over a dozen formally dressed uninvited guests walked into the conference room, led by the secretary.

The middle-aged man in the lead walked directly to the seat opposite Wu Xinlan and sat down. "It is a great honor to meet all of you. My name is Long Yuanzhi, and I am the General Manager of Qingye Investment Company, a subsidiary of Qingye Group."

’Qingye Group?’ Huang Kang, Wu Mingyue, and the others reacted instantly. Many within Donghua Group knew of this company and the person behind it.

After all, some of Donghua Group’s current real estate holdings, as well as its machine tool and paint factories, had previously been assets of Xinxin Group.

The strange circumstances of his son’s death had made Kong Jide particularly sensitive. Upon hearing the name "Qingye Group," his mind immediately started racing, and he was unable to control his emotions. He blurted out:

"You’re not welcome here. Please leave at once."

"Sir, you don’t seem to be the chairman of Donghua Group, are you?" Long Yuanzhi retorted with a chuckle.

SLAM! Wu Mingyue, who was sitting nearby, shot to her feet and slammed her hand on the table. "Did I give you an inch? Get the hell out of here, you bastards! Security!"

But the unflappable Long Yuanzhi simply slapped a document onto the tabletop. "Whether I leave or not isn’t up to you."

Gao Ming, who was closest, pretended to inspect the document. He then looked around with a strange expression before handing it to Huang Kang next to him.

Huang Kang was also curious about its contents. As soon as he took it, his expression shifted before he even finished reading. "This... this is..."

"President Huang, what does it say?" the others asked, noticing the change in his expression.

Huang Kang didn’t know how to explain, so he simply passed the document to the next executive. All the executives who read it had the same slight change in expression, but they all chose to remain silent.

When the document finally reached Kong Jide, his eyes widened in disbelief. "This is impossible! How could Heguang have chosen him as his heir? You forged this!"

"What?" Wu Mingyue grew frantic. She snatched the document, scanned it quickly, and roared, her eyes blazing with fury:

"Do you think forging a will is going to get you my older brother’s inheritance? You’re dreaming! Tell that little bastard to give up right now!"

Long Yuanzhi smiled. "A forged will? Feel free to investigate. This will has been notarized by the public notary office and is fully legally binding. I am now here, on behalf of my boss, Li Qingye, to formally take control of all assets belonging to the late Mr. Wu Heguang."

"This includes 34% of the shares in Donghua Group, his personal shares in Xinxin Group, as well as the real estate and bank deposits under his name. My company’s legal department is already on site. Let’s begin the handover now!"

Seething with rage, Wu Mingyue shrieked like a shrew in the street, "I’m calling the police! I’ll have you all arrested! It’s all fake! My brother would never write a will like this..."

Unfortunately for her, representatives from the Modu Public Notary Office soon arrived. With their assistance, the will was confirmed as authentic and had already been filed with their office.

After hearing this, Wu Mingyue lunged forward, flailing wildly. "I don’t believe it! How much did Li Qingye pay you all? I’m going to sue you... None of you will get away with this..."

Meanwhile, Wu Xinlan remained silent with a seemingly calm expression. As for what she was truly thinking, only she herself knew.

Long Yuanzhi completely ignored Wu Mingyue and the others, instead announcing to everyone, "My boss now holds 34% of Donghua Group’s shares, making him the largest shareholder. I hereby announce the restructuring of the board of directors and management. Who agrees? Who objects?"

’Object my ass,’ Huang Kang complained internally.

After all, according to the will, Li Qingye had inherited Wu Heguang’s 34% stake. Wu Xinlan only held 11.9%. Unless another major shareholder was willing to step up, a restructuring of the board and management was a foregone conclusion.

And Wu Xinlan also chose to remain silent.

Long Yuanzhi was very direct. "On the authority of Mr. Li Qingye’s power of attorney, I am now the president of Donghua Group."

"My first order of business as president is to deal with the previous issue regarding the ammonia synthesis equipment and the contract with Kailuo Company. Due to mismanagement, Kong Zhao Lin’s dividend shares will be revoked. Any objections?"

"I agree," Gao Ming said, standing up to show his support.

The few other non-Wu Family executives quickly switched their allegiance as well.

Seeing this, Wu Mingyue and Kong Jide were so angry they could have spit fire. She once again started shrieking like a shrew.

Kong Jide, however, didn’t resort to cursing. Instead, he reminded them with a cold smile, "Heh, don’t celebrate too soon. If you don’t solve the breach of contract issue, Donghua Group will go bankrupt. And then none of you will get a thing."

"We won’t trouble you with that concern. I will have the HR department terminate your employment contracts. You can both take your leave now."

"Hmph! Let’s go!" Kong Jide knew the situation was lost. He grabbed his wife, Wu Mingyue, and left the conference room.

The other Wu Family executives who held no shares were also kicked out by Long Yuanzhi, leaving only Wu Xinlan.

After the reshuffle in the conference room, Huang Kang and the other original Donghua Group executives were walking on eggshells. They didn’t dare voice any opinions, forced to watch as Long Yuanzhi purged the Wu Family’s faction.

"Finally, some peace and quiet. Let’s get down to business. Vice President Huang Kang."

"Here, President Long. Your orders?" Huang Kang chose to lay low.

Long Yuanzhi gave a direct order: "Have the Donghua Equipment Manufacturing Factory begin dismantling and packing everything up. Prepare to transport the equipment to Luzon. You will be in charge of this."

"But..."

"You don’t need to worry about Kailuo Company. I will handle it," Long Yuanzhi said, offering no further explanation.

Next, Long Yuanzhi ordered, "General Manager Gao Ming, you are in charge of asset liquidation. Package all of Donghua Real Estate’s properties for sale. At the same time, begin preparations to delist the company."

"Understood. I’ll get it done as soon as possible," Gao Ming nodded.

With Wu Heguang gone, the network of connections that Donghua Group had cultivated in the real estate industry naturally vanished with him. Li Qingye had no intention of running a real estate company in Huaguo, nor did he have any interest in dealing with those wolves in sheep’s clothing. He might as well package it all up and sell it for cash.

The assets Li Qingye truly valued were Donghua Group’s machine tool factory, chemical plant, chemical equipment factory, and all of their technicians.

Hongsawaddy was currently undergoing a massive reconstruction, and relocating these factories there was the best course of action.
