Chapter 2571: Story 2572: The Judgment Beyond Creation

The white gateway remained suspended above the collapsing realm.

Unlike the crimson darkness surrounding it, the gateway emitted no heat, no pressure, and no sound.

It simply existed.

Waiting.

Victoria Kane stood beneath it, the Living Dawn glowing steadily within her heart.

Behind her, the seven successors gathered around the weakened First Hunger.

Valerius stood among them without his crown.

For the first time in centuries, he looked like an ordinary man.

Dr. Evelyn Brooks stared into the white light.

"Where does it lead?"

Nox’Rath answered quietly.

"Beyond creation."

Cole frowned.

"That doesn’t sound reassuring."

Father Gabriel smiled faintly.

"Neither did Asterion."

Victoria looked toward the First Hunger.

The enormous creature had become strangely still.

Its crimson eye no longer radiated hatred.

Instead, it watched Victoria with something resembling curiosity.

"You chose not to destroy us," Victoria said.

The creature’s voice echoed inside her mind.

"You offered something I had never possessed."

"Choice."

Victoria nodded.

"Then what will you choose?"

For several seconds, there was silence.

"To remember."

Golden light spread across the creature’s enormous body.

The darkness covering it began changing.

Not disappearing.

Transforming.

The First Hunger became smaller, its monstrous form folding inward until a towering humanoid figure stood before them.

Its body remained covered in crimson shadows, but its eyes were no longer empty.

They were filled with countless stars.

Nox’Rath stared.

"You changed."

The being looked at him.

"So did you."

Nox’Rath lowered his head.

Perhaps, after all this time, the Endless Shadow had finally found forgiveness.

Suddenly, the white gateway expanded.

A powerful voice emerged from beyond it.

"THE CHILDREN OF CREATION HAVE ARRIVED."

Everyone froze.

Victoria stepped forward.

"Who are you?"

"THE JUDGES."

The word shook the realm.

Seven enormous silhouettes appeared within the white light.

They had no faces.

No weapons.

No crowns.

Only seven brilliant eyes.

Evelyn’s journal opened violently.

For the first time, its pages filled with golden writing.

The Seven Judges existed before the First War.

They do not rule creation.

They determine whether creation deserves to continue.

Cole stared upward.

"That’s comforting."

Victoria ignored him.

"What are you judging?"

The seven figures answered together.

"Your choices."

The white gateway released a wave of light.

Every person present suddenly saw visions.

Victoria saw herself abandoning Asterion.

Cole saw himself saving only those closest to him.

Lucas saw himself becoming consumed by fear.

Selene saw a world where freedom became chaos.

Roland saw himself drowning in guilt.

Father Gabriel saw hope becoming blind faith.

Evelyn saw knowledge without compassion.

Valerius saw himself destroying another world to prevent the First Hunger from awakening.

Even Nox’Rath saw the Endless Shadow consuming everything.

Each vision revealed what they could become.

Victoria clenched her fists.

"This isn’t punishment."

One of the Judges spoke.

"Correct."

"It is temptation."

"Correct."

Victoria looked toward her companions.

"We’re being shown what happens when we choose fear over responsibility."

The First Hunger stepped beside her.

"And what happens if you choose control over freedom."

Valerius lowered his head.

"I already know."

Victoria raised the Dawnblade.

"Then we choose differently."

One by one, the others stepped forward.

Cole rejected selfishness.

Lucas rejected fear.

Selene rejected control.

Roland released his guilt.

Father Gabriel chose hope without certainty.

Evelyn chose compassion alongside knowledge.

Nox’Rath chose redemption.

Finally, Valerius stepped forward.

"I choose to protect without destroying."

The seven Judges became silent.

Then their eyes began glowing brighter.

"THE CHOICE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED."

The white gateway transformed.

Beyond it appeared an endless landscape filled with newborn stars.

Victoria stared in wonder.

The Judges spoke once more.

"Creation may continue."

"But something has changed," Evelyn whispered.

A dark shape appeared among the newborn stars.

The First Hunger looked toward it.

Victoria’s expression hardened.

"What is that?"

Nox’Rath slowly raised his head.

"The Judges weren’t the final trial."

He stared into the distance.

"They were warning us."

A new voice echoed from beyond the stars.

"The Dawn has returned."

"The Hunger has awakened."

"And now..."

The stars began turning black.

"...the Void remembers your names."

Victoria tightened her grip on the Dawnblade.

The journey was far from over.
