Coming out of the room and seeing Qin Miao, the father-in-law was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "Sanshui? When did you get back? You really should have let us know you were coming. We were just watching your award ceremony on TV yesterday."

"Dad," Qin Miao called out, before standing up and saying, "I came right after the award ceremony ended, wanted to surprise you."

"Was the trip tiring? You’ve worked hard overseas for nearly a year; it’s good to come back and rest. Have you had breakfast? If not, I’ll fix you something."

"The trip was fine, I slept on the plane all the way back," Qin Miao replied with a nod. "I had breakfast before the plane landed, no need to fuss over me. By the way, where’s this dog from?"
