HP: Alchemy? Nah, It's Crafting

Chapter 447 - 447: 447: Private Wine Cellar

"Looks like you handled it pretty easily," Dumbledore said with a smile.

"Obviously, Voldemort came prepared this time. He used Mr and Mrs Demoulin as hostages, and he also used another strange kind of power. It felt like occult power," Kasen said with a frown.

"But he still died," Dumbledore finished for him.

"That's right. So, what are the two of you planning to do?" Kasen asked, turning to the Demoulin couple.

Vivian was still clinging tightly to both of them, leaving them unable to move.

"Perhaps we should also leave the country for a while and lie low," Mr Demoulin said slowly, clearly still shaken by how close he had just come to death.

However, he soon remembered something else.

With trembling hands, he removed the ring from his finger and cast a small spell on it with his wand. In the next instant, the ring transformed into a little brass key.

He then solemnly offered it to Kasen with both hands.

Kasen's expression instantly turned stern.

"You're insulting me."

Mr Demoulin hurriedly waved his hands. "The vault doesn't contain only money. It's actually a small vault I secretly opened at Gringotts behind my wife's back. It's filled entirely with all kinds of fine alcohol I've collected."

Kasen's expression immediately changed completely. He looked at Mr Demoulin as though he were his own brother.

"You really understand me!"

Dumbledore looked helplessly at the hopeless Kasen, while involuntarily drooling himself.

Kasen had always treated Dumbledore's drinks cabinet like his own personal supply.

Now that Kasen had struck it rich, perhaps it was finally time for Dumbledore to recover some of his losses?

Hmm...

"Vivian, Clay, what are the two of you planning to do?" Mrs Demoulin asked, looking at the two young kids.

"There's nowhere safer than Hogwarts," Clay replied.

"That is certainly true for young wizards. When the Christmas holiday begins, I'll send you Portkeys directly. Once you leave the Hogwarts Express, you can use them immediately to leave London Station," Mrs Demoulin said with a nod.

"Why am I included?" Clay asked in complete confusion.

"You-Know-Who already knows you exist. This time, we'll leave the country together with your parents. Otherwise, once You-Know-Who recovers from his injuries..." Mrs Demoulin stopped halfway and looked at Kasen. "Professor Kasen, how badly did you injure You-Know-Who?"

"I killed him. But because of the Horcruxes, it's only a matter of time before he returns," Kasen answered.

"De... dead?"

Everyone in the office except Dumbledore stared at him in utter disbelief.

It was no secret among respectable members of the wizarding world that Kasen could escape unharmed from Voldemort, or even make Voldemort suffer a little.

At his age, merely fighting Voldemort to a draw would already have been extraordinary, much less gaining the upper hand over him.

But now...

No.

What had they just heard?

Kasen had...

killed Voldemort?

Voldemort, who had cast a shadow over the entire British wizarding world on and off for more than a decade, had just been killed that casually?

At that moment, Mr Demoulin could not help but reevaluate Professor Kasen standing before him.

This was no longer a matter of Kasen continuing to grow and perhaps becoming a second Dumbledore someday.

This was no longer a question of whether he might become a second Merlin in the future.

At this rate, there was even a possibility that Merlin would end up with Kasen tattooed across his back.

"That's exactly why we need to move quickly," Mr Demoulin said.

"Uh... you two?"

Kasen waved a hand in front of the Demoulin couple's dazed faces, finally snapping them back to their senses.

"Where were we just now?"

"You were saying that you planned to leave England together with Clay's parents," Kasen reminded them.

"Yes, that's right..." Mr Demoulin nodded blankly, still staring at Kasen as though he were Merlin himself.

"All right. Then I'll see you off," Kasen said as he stood up. "Unless there's anything else you still need to say?"

"We can say it in a letter," Mr Demoulin replied.

The dazed expression on his face faded slightly, replaced by sorrow. Clearly, the thought of leaving England and abandoning his ancestral home weighed heavily on him.

"Clay, where does your family live?" Kasen asked.

"In Manchester, Professor. I'll write down the address for you."

Before long, Kasen had Clay's home address.

He enveloped the Demoulin couple in an Ender Field, and in the next instant, all three disappeared.

When Mr and Mrs Demoulin regained their vision, they found themselves standing on an unfamiliar street in front of an unfamiliar house.

"Do you need me to go inside with you?" Kasen asked.

"No. We've met them more than once before. We only need to explain how serious the situation is," Mrs Demoulin replied.

"Mm. Then I'll be leaving... If possible, you'd better leave the country privately or travel using Muggle methods. There's no guarantee Voldemort doesn't have spies inside the Ministry who can pass information to him. Also, take these."

Kasen took out four beacon pendants and handed them to Mrs Demoulin.

"These can block tracking magic, as well as occult methods of tracking. I'll give Vivian and Clay one each too, so don't worry."

"Thank you, Professor. I'm ashamed that we didn't make your acquaintance sooner," Mr Demoulin said, his face still pale.

"I understand. I know I probably look rather frightening from your perspective."

"Then, goodbye."

"Mm-hm."

After returning to Hogwarts, Kasen looked at Vivian, who had finally calmed down, and Clay, who was curiously staring up at the Orbital Dragon-Slaying Cannon.

He tossed each of them a beacon pendant.

"These will keep you from being tracked. The two of you are officially on Voldemort's radar now, so be careful above all else."

The two immediately put the pendants on.

They were nothing if not obedient when given good advice.

"Next..."

Kasen sat down and rubbed his brow.

Clay and Vivian assumed he was contemplating some grand strategy for fighting Voldemort.

Then Kasen spoke.

"It's time to go see what Mr Demoulin's private wine cellar looks like!"
