The collision between Cherry’s palm and the Shadow’s glaive exploded across the battlefield.
BOOOOM!
Dust and debris filled the air as Cherry slid backward, her twin swords still firmly in her hands.
The Shadow was pushed back four steps before stopping himself with the shaft of his glaive.
Cherry breathed steadily.
Her eyes never left him.
The Shadow glanced down at his weapon before looking back at her.
“Alright.”
He raised the glaive.
“That is enough.”
His stance changed.
“Let me show you the difference between us.”
The moisture in the atmosphere began gathering around him.
Cherry noticed droplets forming along his arms and weapon.
He's drawing water from the air?
The Shadow lowered his center of gravity.
“Elemental Touch…”
The water rushed toward the glaive.
“Water Reinforcement.”
A dense layer of water wrapped around the weapon, constantly circulating along its blade and shaft.
The Shadow slowly lifted it—The glaive seemed heavier.
Cherry could feel the difference from where she stood.
The Shadow stepped forward.
Cherry immediately tried to move back—But her leg wouldn't move.
Her eyes widened.
She looked down —Her foot was stuck in the ground.
“When did he—?”
The Shadow smiled.
“I changed the moisture of the ground.”
He tightened his grip on the glaive.
“Let's see you run now.”
Cherry calmly looked up at the incoming glaive.
Then—
She smiled.
“I'm guessing you can't use a technique with such a heavy weapon.”
She reached for her bow.
The Shadow's eyes narrowed.
Cherry drew the string.
“Rain of Arrows.”
TWANG!
An arrow left the bow.
Then—
It split.
One became many.
Dozens of arrows shot toward the Shadow at top speed.
His eyes widened.
He raised his heavy glaive.
CLANG!
The first arrow struck the weapon.
Then another.
And another.
The Shadow struggled to block them all.
But Cherry was already moving.
“Wind Step.”
WHOOSH!
A small burst of wind exploded beneath her leg —The force ripped her foot free from the muddled ground.
The Shadow's eyes shifted toward her.
At the same time—Several arrows slipped past his glaive.
His expression changed.
“Second Step.”
WHOOSH!
His body disappeared.
The arrows tore through empty air.
He reappeared several meters away.
But Cherry was already prepared.
“Wind Step!”
BOOM!
Wind burst beneath her feet.
She launched herself forward —The Shadow barely had time to steady his stance.
Cherry was already in front of him.
She raised her palm.
The Shadow's eyes narrowed.
“Full Moon.”
BOOM!
Cherry's palm shot toward his chest.
The Shadow reacted instantly.
“Elemental Touch…”
The water surrounding the battlefield suddenly rushed toward his chest.
“Water Pull!”
WHOOSH!
A mass of water gathered between Cherry's palm and his body.
Her palm pushed through it—
But the water absorbed and slowed the force of the impact.
BOOM!
The Shadow's body was pushed backward.
He staggered—
One step.
Cherry landed in front of him.
Her eyes narrowed.
