Silence.
For a moment, the entire forest was silent.
No footsteps.
Only the wind moving through the trees.
Everyone stood frozen, trying to understand what they had just witnessed.
Kael's breathing was heavy.
His sword remained in his hand, but his body refused to move.
The battle had not ended.
But for that brief moment...
Nobody dared make the first move.
The bandits stared forward.
The hunters watched carefully.
And Kael could feel it.
The atmosphere had changed.
Something about the battlefield was different now.
Then—
A single step broke the silence.
One of the bandits moved.
Then another.
The moment of stillness was over.
Three bandits closed in at once.
A sword came from the left.
She moved before the blade could reach her.Three bandits closed in at once.
A sword came from the left.
She moved before the blade could reach her.
Her body shifted just enough for the attack to pass by, her coat brushing against the edge of the weapon.
The spearman followed immediately.
No hesitation.
No wasted movement.
The spear shot forward like a snake.
She twisted sideways, letting the tip tear through the air beside her.
A knife flashed from behind.
She turned her bow around and knocked the blade away before it could touch her.
The three attackers froze for the smallest moment.
High above—
THWIP!
An arrow screamed through the air.
Straight toward her back.
She spun.
Her hand moved faster than thought.
Her fingers closed around the shaft.
The arrow stopped.
But her movement never did.
There was no pause.
The moment her fingers caught the arrow, her feet pushed against the ground and carried her into another turn.
The captured arrow slid onto her bowstring.
She fired mid-air.
THWANG!
The sound echoed through the forest.
The archer's eyes widened.
He had no time to move.
The arrow pierced straight through his head.
His body fell from the tree and crashed into the branches below.
She landed softly.
Already moving.
Already facing the next enemy.
While singlehandedly holding three bandits off, she quickly threw a glance at Kael's situation.
Her fingers moved.
Another arrow was already on the string.
THWIP!
---
Kael barely caught the first strike.
The bandit's blade slammed against his sword, forcing him backward.
Before he could recover, another enemy appeared at his side.
Too fast.
There wasn't enough time to turn.
THWIP!
An arrow cut between them.
The bandit instinctively twisted to avoid it.
That single movement created an opening.
Kael saw it.
He didn't hesitate.
His sword moved.
A clean slash.
The bandit's eyes widened as the blade passed through.
His body collapsed before he could even understand what happened.
Before the corpse reached the ground—
Another arrow had already left her bow.
The final bandit looked up.
Too late.
The arrow shot forward.
But before it could strike—
CLANG!
An axe cut through the arrow, splitting it in two.
The broken pieces fell to the ground.
The battlefield went silent.
The vice leader had finally made a move.
The massive axe slowly slid from his shoulder.
The sound of metal scraping against metal echoed through the clearing.
He gripped the handle with both hands.
The lazy confidence that had covered his face disappeared.
His expression changed.
This was no longer a game.
He lowered his stance.
The air around him grew heavy.
Then—
He stepped forward.
And vanished.
Her eyes narrowed.
The axe appeared from her blind spot.
A massive swing tore through the air.
She raised her short sword.
CLANG!
The collision exploded across the forest.
The force of the impact shook the ground beneath them.
Her boots dragged through the dirt.
Two deep trails formed behind her.
The vice leader remained still, axe resting in his hands.
Kael stared in disbelief.
Since the fight began...
No one had managed to move her.
But just now...
She took a step back.
