Kael's wide slash was stopped by the Silver Rank's sword.
The Silver Rank's free hand slipped beneath his cloak.
A black knife appeared between his fingers.
"Knife Art: Stunner."
The knife shot forward.
Not at Kael.
At the incoming Gale Shot.
BOOM!
The knife collided with the arrow, detonating both techniques in midair.
Dust and wind burst outward.
Blindspot immediately burst through the swirling dust, heading straight for the Silver Rank.
His eyes narrowed.
Without hesitation, he flicked another knife from his sleeve.
CLANG!
The two knives collided.
The Silver Rank was forced back half a step.
At that exact moment—
Kael stepped in.
His sword surged toward the Silver Rank's side.
The Silver Rank reacted instantly.
His left fist shot forward.
BOOM!
The punch crashed into Kael's ribs.
A sickening crack echoed.
Blood spilled from Kael's lips.
The force threatened to send him flying.
But Kael planted his foot.
He refused to yield.
Ignoring the agony tearing through his body, he drove his sword the remaining distance.
SLASH!
A fresh line of blood opened across the Silver Rank's side.
For the briefest moment...
Everything fell silent.
Blood trickled down the Silver Rank's side.
Then—
The silver aura surrounding his body flickered.
Once.
Twice.
Then...
The silver aura completely vanished.
