Morning arrived.
Golden sunlight streamed through the window.
Kael opened his eyes.
After a simple breakfast...
He made his way to the Hunter Association.
The mission hall was already crowded.
Compared to before...
The requests on the Bronze Rank board were noticeably fewer.
But each one demanded far more than an ordinary hunt.
Kael stood before the board.
His eyes moved from one request to another.
Escort Request.
Target: Merchant Caravan.
Destination: Eastwatch Town.
Reward: 45 Silver Coins.
He moved on.
Investigation Request.
Location: Mistwood Forest.
Objective: Confirm reports of missing hunters.
Reward: 70 Silver Coins.
Kael paused briefly.
Then continued reading.
The final request caught his attention.
Subjugation Request.
Target: Three Bronze Rank Shadow Wolves.
Reward: 80 Silver Coins.
His gaze lingered on it.
Three beasts.
Not one.
It was dangerous...
But straightforward.
No civilians.
No unknown variables.
Just a hunt.
As Kael reached for the request...
Another hand grabbed it first.
The two hands stopped inches apart.
Kael looked up.
Standing opposite him was a young man with short brown hair.
A spear rested across his back.
The hunter looked at Kael.
"You wanted this one?"
Kael nodded.
"I did."
The young man glanced at the request.
Then back at Kael's bronze badge.
A smile appeared.
"So did I."
For a moment...
Neither spoke.
Then the young man laughed.
"No point arguing over paper."
He removed the request from the board.
"Three Bronze Rank beasts."
"One hunter can handle it..."
"But it'll take longer."
He extended the request toward Kael.
"Interested in teaming up?"
Kael remained silent.
He had always hunted alone.
Working with another hunter meant trusting someone else with his life.
The young man seemed to understand his hesitation.
"My name's Leon."
"I became Bronze about six months ago."
"I don't care about taking all the credit."
"I just want the mission done."
Kael studied him.
There was no arrogance in his voice.
No attempt to provoke him.
Just a simple proposal.
After a few moments...
Kael spoke.
"How will we split the reward?"
Leon smiled.
"Half."
"And the beast materials?"
"Each keeps what they kill."
Kael considered the offer.
It was fair.
He gave a small nod.
"Alright."
Leon grinned.
"Good."
He turned toward the reception desk.
"Let's register before someone else decides to join us."
Kael followed behind.
His first Bronze Rank mission...
Would not be one he faced alone.
