Morning arrived quietly.
Golden light filtered through the towering trees.
Kael opened his eyes.
He had spent the night beneath a massive tree, resting only after treating his wounds.
His body still ached.
But something had changed.
He stood.
Without thinking...
He took a step.
Then another.
His feet moved naturally.
Not faster.
Smoother.
Less effort.
A faint smile crossed his face.
"It really stayed..."
The Razor Fox had escaped.
But it hadn't escaped empty-handed.
Neither had he.
Kael picked up his sword.
He swung once.
Then moved.
One step.
A turn.
Another step.
His body flowed into position almost effortlessly.
Not perfect.
Far from it.
But it was enough.
He sheathed his sword.
"...Time to hunt."
---
Less than an hour later...
A deafening roar echoed through the forest.
A Bronze Ironhide Bear burst through the trees.
Its massive body crushed bushes beneath its weight.
Unlike the Razor Fox...
This beast relied on overwhelming strength.
It charged without hesitation.
Kael didn't retreat.
The bear swung a massive paw.
Instead of jumping backward...
Kael shifted his weight.
One smooth step.
The paw brushed past his shoulder.
The bear's eyes widened.
It had missed.
Kael was already at its side.
"Ripple Slash."
SHING!
A deep cut opened across its ribs.
The crimson mark appeared.
First Blood.
The bear roared in pain.
It spun around wildly.
Its movements...
Immediately became heavier.
Kael didn't waste the opportunity.
He circled it.
Every step became easier than the last.
His movement no longer felt forced.
The bear attacked again.
Too slow.
Kael slipped past the strike.
Another slash.
Blood sprayed across the ground.
The bear stumbled.
It tried one final desperate charge.
Kael inhaled.
One step.
Shift.
Turn.
The beast rushed past him.
Its balance collapsed.
Kael appeared behind it.
One clean slash.
The bear froze.
A crimson line slowly appeared across its neck.
Then...
It crashed to the ground.
Silence.
Kael stood quietly.
"...Much easier."
He knelt and removed the Bronze beast core.
Then looked at the corpse.
"The movement works..."
"But it still needs work."
He stored the core inside his pouch.
By now...
Several Bronze beast cores rested inside.
Far more than when he entered the forest.
Kael looked deeper into Blackstone Forest.
There was no hesitation in his eyes anymore.
Only purpose.
Without another glance at the corpse...
He continued deeper into the forest.
This time...
He wasn't wandering.
He was hunting.
