Chapter 1119: Chapter 67: The Divine Spirits’ Game
Napoleon’s incarnation will be instantly killed if it encounters Clenwoe.
But in a sense, if Clenwoe descends in his true form or incarnation, he has also lost the real war, as he has lost the intimidation of the Death God.
"Let everything descend into chaos."
"Only a few divine spirits have died, is this worthy of being called a Saint’s Calamity? We need something more like the Twilight of the Gods."
Duncan’s will quickly locks onto a new hunting target—the Minotaur King, Baphomet.
Meanwhile.
Netherworld, Crystal Tower.
Under the dim red sun, a young and handsome man is frowning as he gazes into the distance, his appearance is subtly marked by a sense of weariness. He is clad in bright silver chain armor, holding a heavy sword in his hand called the Touch of Destiny, a weapon that ascended to godhood together with Clenwoe.
"My Lord."
"In a tributary of the Nether River passing through the Shadow Realm, we found the Nether River soul thieves from the Bottomless Abyss."
"They are stirring."
A Death Angel kneels respectfully before Clenwoe. This is His newly transformed Otherworld Divine Envoy. After taking over the mantle of the Death God, many of the previous Otherworld Divine Envoys were unsuitable, and He had to choose His trustworthy ones.
The Otherworld Divine Envoys left by the Death Triumvirate were too evil and cruel and not in line with Clenwoe’s beliefs.
"Are the demons stirring again?"
A glint of coldness flashes in Clenwoe’s eyes; even as a god he remains pure Warrior.
Just then, a faint sound of footsteps echoes.
Outside the doors of the Crystal Tower, an old man, clad in a tattered gray robe and looking very emaciated, appears. He exudes a scholarly aura, holding an ancient scroll in his hands, with deep and inscrutable eyes, standing quietly just gazing at Clenwoe.
"Lord Ye Ge."
Clenwoe, just about to personally handle the demons, stops in his tracks and turns to the old man behind him, softly asking, "Is there something you need?"
After the Saint’s Calamity ended, Clenwoe spent most of his time with Ye Ge in the Crystal Tower of the Netherworld, learning from him about the responsibilities and demands of the title of King of the Dead. Though Ye Ge’s cold and unyielding perspective and merciless nature troubled Clenwoe, he greatly respects the Ancient Death God Ye Ge.
"Do you intend to personally deal with those demons?" A hint of disappointment appears in Ye Ge’s eyes.
Clenwoe is a good Warrior, but not a good Death God.
Upon hearing Ye Ge’s words, Clenwoe hesitates for a moment, then slowly nods, "This is the most effective way."
Ye Ge hears and gently shakes his head, softly saying, "Remember what I told you about the Abyssal Will of the Nightmare Abyss?"
Clenwoe shows a thoughtful expression, saying, "You mean the Abyssal Will?"
"Fear not, My Lord."
"I will not recklessly enter the Bottomless Abyss again."
And nobody thought He would do that, if Clenwoe played with fire and angered the Abyssal Will, a new candidate could be ready for the Death God of the City of the Dead by now.
When Duncan opens up in the Bottomless Abyss, he must first seize the Law of the Demon Domain from Yenogu.
Can divine spirits casually enter the Bottomless Abyss and kill demons?
If the Abyssal Will awakened, an all-out feast could begin.
Ye Ge’s emaciated form slowly walks to the balcony of the Crystal Tower, gazing at the distant blood-red sun, softly saying, "You are no longer a Mortal, nor are you just a simple Warrior."
"Divine spirits have their own way of conducting matters."
Saying this, Ye Ge gazes at Clenwoe, who is earnestly receiving guidance, calmly saying, "How many divine spirits are there in this kingdom?"
Clenwoe thinks for a moment and says, "Many."
"Even in the Ferren realm, there are many divine spirits."
Ye Ge continues asking, "And how many of them wield Mighty Divine Power?"
Clenwoe hesitates for a moment, softly saying, "Quite a few. Shirek, the Magic Lady, the Knowledge King, the Battle King, the God of Justice, the Lord of Dawn, the Lord of Storms, the Night Goddess, the Lady of Love, Mother Earth..."
A long list of divine names is mentioned.
In this realm, the existence of Mighty Divine Powers can hardly be counted on ten fingers.
Even though Duncan previously clung to the Lady of Love, relying on her Mighty Divine Power, seemingly able to wreak havoc in the Bottomless Abyss. But in fact, such Mighty Divine Powers pile up in the Material Plane, the Lady of Love is just a gatekeeper among the Mighty Divine Powers.
This is just within the Human Pantheon. The Elf divine powers, Dwarf Pantheon, Half-Elf Pantheon, Beastman Pantheon, Elemental Pantheon, and so on are another heap of Mighty Divine Powers.
That’s why Duncan is so restrained in the Material Plane, because a pile of mighty divine spirits is pressing down.
Ye Ge listens to Clenwoe’s words, expressionlessly asking, "How many of these are your enemies?"
Clenwoe’s heart sinks instantly upon hearing this.
"Divine spirits, in essence, are rulers of a realm. You are the King of the Dead in the Netherworld, not a general, not a Warrior."
"The demons of the Bottomless Abyss."
"For thousands of years, they have always been invading the Netherworld. Whenever there’s an opportunity, they will swarm in."
"They can never be fully killed, never fully cleansed."
The Ancient Death God Ye Ge sighs softly, saying coldly, "This scale of invasion erupts in the Netherworld every few years."
"During the era of the Death Triumvirate, the demons were never content."
"Their coveting of souls is in their nature."
