Xero stared at the teleportation stone for a while. For some reason he had acted without his cerebrum coordinating his actions. It was the similar case when he killed his uncle and also when he killed the man next to him.
He didn’t know what his system was turning him into. He had acted purely out of his own will. The teleportation stone in his hand now was the man’s own and he planned to send him back to the open ground.
"Hey. Why did you kill him? You could have beaten him down to 1 HP and forced him to give up. Why kill him?" Lora asked as she stared at him.
But instead of answering the question that was just asked by her, he asked her a question of his.
"You should have followed her. Why didn’t you go with her? Basically, I’m extremely useless in this situation now and she has a better chance of survival than I do. Teaming up with me means if a team attacks us then we are dead because I’ll die and you will be the only one fighting. But with her, you had a chance of survival. So why did you decide to stay with me?" Xero asked as he looked at her.
Logically she wasn’t even supposed to team up with him in the first place but she had defied all odds and still went ahead to team up with him. Now she was risking her life for him.
"As to that, I know I have slim chances with you. I figured that if we remain in this room no one will find us. We will just have to be quiet." She said and Xero just stared at her dumbfounded.
"Now, I asked you a question. Answer it for me." She lamented. Xero slowly turned to the man and then back at her. He was finding his words hard.
"I didn’t intentionally kill him. Just wanted to reduce his HP to 1 but he died on me." Xero said and lowered his head. Lora took some time studying him before she sighed and raised his head up to meet her gaze.
"Look don’t feel bad. We just have to leave him here or probably drop his body outside the door that way we will protect but ourselves and be getting rid of him too." She explained but Xero had another thought going through his head.
"That’s true. Lonel Brayn had told them that the zero HP meant either death or a complete knock out." Xero said and turned to look at the man.
"Wait how? I remember he said that but look at him, he has lost more blood than we can imagine." She muttered.
"Sir Bryan only wanted us to be focused on the death aspect. That way firing us up to protect our lives and return straight back to the open ground." Xero reasoned. Lora nodded her head understanding what he was saying.
"I’ll send him to the open ground. He has to be healed up. Probably the school has a hospital or something like that." Xero said and walked over yo the man.
Then he used the man’s index finger to press the blue hole on the teleportation stone hard. The next second, the man began to scatter away like dust.
"You think we did a good thing?" Lora asked. Xero turned sharply to look at her.
"You don’t always have to bear with me in my mistakes and actions. I’m sure you do have your own personal issues at hand. You will need to learn to be a little concerned about yourself first." Xero said and sat against the wall. Lora just stared at him for a while before sitting on the opposite direction.
[00:23:16]
"We had used more than an hour to face these guys. Well thanks to them we don’t have to worry about time. All we have to do is to wait here." Xero thought to himself.
[Skill Obtained]
[Blood Scythe: Allows host to use a person’s blood as a combat weapon. The durability depends on how good the blood is. It can only be activated within 5 metres reach against the opponent.]
Xero stared at the hologram. Skill? Hmm. He had always wanted a skill to use, something that gave him an edge for an ability. So this was it. Blood Scythe huh?
He wasn’t going to worry so much about it. All had to was to survive this entrance exam and be sure of his schooling here. He wondered how many people that were now on the open ground.
Judging by how long had passed he guessed that most of those that had survived up till now were in the same shape as they were in. If that was the case everyone will definitely be playing defensive now. No one would risk being put out at the last minute of the exam.
He looked at his watch again. (Level 1) (2/10 HP) (00:12:16). Time was really passing away. All he prayed for was that bad luck didn’t kiss them with another team to face.
For now everywhere was quiet. Lora wasn’t speaking like would have. She had become so quiet that Xero was beginning to fear that she was losing consciousness. Then he remembered that he had spoken to her harshly. A sense of guilt washed over him and he walked over to her side and sat beside her.
"Sorry for that. I was only scared. I didn’t mean to hurt you." Xero muttered but Lora didn’t respond. Her gaze was level and she didn’t look at him as he spoke.
"Hey. I know you are hearing me. I said I’m sorry." Xero pleaded again.
"Heard you the first time. Now be quiet I can hear footsteps approaching the door." She said and silenced him. Xero turned to the door. Now he could hear faint foot steps from behind the door.
[Ability Detected: Voice Copy]
[Voice Amplification]
"Everyone get down to the Assembly Hall now!!" The voice said.
"Is that Lonel Brayn?"
"Damn..." Xero muttered and looked at the time. Only 5 minutes to go. This was obviously a freaking trick.
