I Am Already A Queen
Chapter 68: Correct The Manager About The MisunderstandingChapter 68: Chapter 68: Correct The Manager About The Misunderstanding
Qiao Meixia simply could not bring herself to ruthlessly reject him when he looked at her with such hopeful, earnest eyes. It was a strange weakness she was still adapting to.
Thus, she quietly followed Jiang Suhan out of the high-end restaurant and directly into one of Hannan City’s largest and most exclusive luxury shopping malls.
Without a single moment of hesitation, Jiang Suhan bypassed the ordinary retail shopping floors entirely, steering her straight into one of the mall’s internationally renowned, high-end designer furniture boutiques. The moment they stepped inside the pristine showroom, several sales associates immediately straightened their posture. At the same time, the elite floor manager personally hurried over to greet them with an enthusiastic, practised smile, clearly recognising the powerful heir of the Jiang family.
"Mr Jiang, welcome... Welcome back to our boutique..." The manager greeted respectfully, his smile widening to a near-servile degree.
"I want to look at some premium bedroom furniture." Jiang Suhan said straightforwardly, getting straight to the point.
"Certainly, Mr Jiang. Please come right this way." The manager nodded repeatedly, gesturing elegantly before personally leading the way down the polished showroom floor.
Qiao Meixia silently walked a step behind Jiang Suhan and the manager, her hands casually tucked into her pockets as she observed the lavish displays with an air of complete detachment. Soon, the three of them arrived at the sprawling bedroom furniture section, surrounded by imported silks and heavy mahogany frames.
"We currently have a wide, exquisite variety of bespoke bedroom styles available." The manager introduced enthusiastically, sweeping his arm toward one of the most luxurious, heavily decorated display sets in the centre. "This particular avant-garde design is one of our best-selling collections for young, affluent couples. The bed frame itself is engineered to be exceptionally sturdy and durable. Even with... highly vigorous movement, I assure you it remains perfectly stable and silent."
The manager stopped, flashing Jiang Suhan a deeply meaningful, knowing grin. In his mind, he had already confidently concluded that the famous, fiercely unattainable eldest young master of the Jiang family was finally preparing to tie the knot. This breathtakingly beautiful, quiet young woman standing closely beside him must undoubtedly be his hidden, future wife.
Jiang Suhan was far from an idiot. The exact millisecond he heard the manager’s highly suggestive, borderline inappropriate explanation, he immediately realised that the man had completely and utterly misunderstood his relationship with Qiao Meixia.
"This furniture is for my biological sister’s bedroom." Jiang Suhan clarified, his voice dropping to a calm, terrifyingly freezing temperature.
The manager froze entirely on the spot, his tongue catching in his throat. The enthusiastic smile on his face stiffened instantly, turning into a comical mask of sheer panic before he hurriedly bowed his head in a frantic apology.
"I... I am terribly sorry, Mr Jiang! I completely and unforgivably misunderstood your relationship." The manager apologised awkwardly, beads of cold sweat immediately beginning to form along his hairline.
"That’s enough." Jiang Suhan replied indifferently, his sharp gaze cutting the man’s stuttering short. "Just show us the catalogue and the rest of the furniture."
"Y-Yes... Certainly, right away." The manager nodded repeatedly, his heart hammering against his ribs, no longer daring to make a single unnecessary assumption.
His attitude instantly shifted into a much more professional, albeit trembling, demeanour.
Jiang Suhan then turned back toward Qiao Meixia, and the icy, unyielding expression on his handsome face vanished, instantly softening into a doting look.
"Qiaoqiao, choose absolutely whatever catches your eye." Jiang Suhan smiled warmly. "Eldest Brother will buy every single thing for you."
Qiao Meixia glanced around the vast showroom filled with ostentatious, luxurious furniture before giving a small, pragmatic nod.
"Hmm..." Qiao Meixia nodded.
Standing nearby, the manager finally put the pieces together. So, this young woman was not Jiang Suhan’s future wife. She was his biological sister. However, as far as he could remember from the high-society tabloids, the Jiang family’s only daughter, Jiang Yanna, looked completely different from this girl.
Even though countless scandalous questions immediately surfaced in his mind, he wisely swallowed every single one of them. People in his elite line of profession understood one golden rule. The less they knew about the private, tangled affairs of wealthy families, the longer they kept their high-paying jobs.
....
Meanwhile, back at the elite campus of First Hannan School...
The atmosphere during the lunch break was buzzing. Jiang Yanna was sitting elegantly in the shaded courtyard, chatting amiably with Jin Zexi, when a prominent group of wealthy high-school girls suddenly walked over toward their table.
"Jiang Yanna, I just heard something incredibly juicy and interesting about your eldest brother today." One of the girls, Chen Xiaoqing, suddenly said, an amused, slightly malicious smile playing on her lips.
Both Jiang Yanna and Jin Zexi stopped talking and turned their heads to look at the approaching group.
"My brother?" Jiang Yanna blinked in feigned confusion, tilting her head beautifully. "Which one do you mean? My eldest brother or my younger brother?"
"Your eldest brother, Jiang Suhan, of course." Chen Xiaoqing answered immediately, crossing her arms.
"What happened to him?" Jiang Yanna asked again, maintaining her perfectly gentle, unbothered smile, though her instincts flared.
"Well..." Chen Xiaoqing deliberately paused for dramatic effect, looking around at her friends before grinning widely. "It seems you are about to have a new sister-in-law very soon."
The moment the words left Chen Xiaoqing’s mouth, Jiang Yanna’s eyes widened in profound shock. She abruptly stood up from her chair, her knees knocking against the desk. Everyone sitting around the courtyard was startled by her unusually intense, uncharacteristic reaction. The elegant facade she usually wore had cracked for a split second.
"Oh? So... you did not know about it either?" Chen Xiaoqing smirked, thoroughly enjoying the reaction as she folded her arms tighter.
