Chapter 1912: Chapter 1030: Deliberations_3

Yet this Stabilization was not a sign that the crisis had been dispelled, but rather the prelude to a far more terrifying beginning.

This mutation meant that the last layer of Space barrier separating the Gaia Main World from the Abyss Plane had completely dissolved.

The two had now achieved a thorough, all-encompassing connection, with no blind spots remaining.

At the instant the barrier collapsed, a vast flood of Abyss Breath, thick to the extreme, surged out of the rift like a breach of black waters, madly spewing forth.

Pitch-black Abyss mist rolled and roared; wherever it passed, the air turned icy and bone-piercing in an instant, and plants withered and yellowed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Within this Abyss Breath was mingled the bloody foulness accumulated over countless years, and a frenzy of brutality that pierced down to the very origin.

Every wisp of mist carried a terrifying Strength that corroded the minds of living beings and twisted the forms of all things, sweeping across the land like a sky-covering tide, seeking to stain this region into a human Purgatory where not a single blade of grass could survive.

And at this moment, the Elf Clan would not sit still and await doom.

In the buffer zone between the Abyss rift and the Elf Royal City, stretches of Life Ancient Trees that had taken root for ten thousand years blossomed with faint light one after another.

Their aged, vigorous branches actively extended, crossing and intertwining; fine vines wove together and locked tight, shaping a green Barrier that spanned heaven and earth.

Pure and mellow Emerald Divine Power surged along the veins of the ancient trees; layers of radiance coiled about the branches, flooding the midair, and finally condensed before the rift into a vast and weighty Jade Barrier.

The Jade Barrier, lustrous throughout, was solid as a wall; Emerald Divine radiance flowed without cease, standing firm before the surging black Abyss mist.

The raging Abyss Breath crashed ceaselessly against the Barrier, unleashing dull thunderous rumbles; black mist and green light entwined again and again, contending and eroding one another.

One side sought to ravage and corrode at will; the other side held fast in desperate Defense. Neither could breach the other’s line, and thus heaven and earth fell into a perilous stalemate of confrontation.

Just as the Barrier strained to endure, Stormy Skies surged upon the vault of heaven. A Floating City, wholly azure and shimmering with flowing light, slowly cut through Space, hovering steadily above the Jade Barrier.

The entire city was built from rare Magic Ore; upon the city walls were engraved intricate, ancient Magic Patterns, with countless runes shining brilliantly, circulating with a vast and majestic Magic Power gleam.

In an instant, a surging torrent of Magic Power burst forth from within the Floating City; limpid and pure Magic Power poured down like rivers and seas, all of it channeled into the Jade Barrier below.

The Barrier, which had been faintly trembling and had suffered grievous Divine Power loss, flared with Divine radiance in a heartbeat; its momentum rose layer upon layer, fusing with the Floating City’s Magic Barrier into a single whole.

The dual-layer Defense Strength firmly locked down the spreading path of the Abyss Breath, greatly easing the Guardian burden of the Life Ancient Trees, making the standoff grow ever more stable.

Upon the highest viewing platform of the Floating City, Lis stood upright, his long robe snapping and whipping in the wind.

His gaze was heavy as he looked far into the distance at that hideous World Rift, and at the endless Abyss Plane lying beyond its end.

All around him, the surging Magic Power and the violent Abyss Breath collided and clashed; fierce winds howled and lashed at him, yet could not shake him in the slightest.

Countless bouts of contest against Abyss Evil Gods had honed his keen perception, allowing him to clearly sense that deep within the endlessly rolling Abyss mist, it was not empty.

Beneath the layered shroud of black fog, several obscure, icy, and greedy terrifying wills lay quietly in ambush.

That was the prying Strength of the Abyss Evil Gods. They had withdrawn the vast majority of their oppressive might, hiding within the chaotic mists, fixing their gaze upon him with unwavering intensity.
