I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 1914 - 1031: Seeking Cain’s Help (2)

Chapter 1914: Chapter 1031: Seeking Cain’s Help (2)

Lis sought Cain’s help.

The reason Lis asked Cain for help instead of the Elf Gods or other Order Gods had his considerations.

Most importantly, Cain’s understanding of the Endless Abyss surely surpassed that of the Order Gods.

One must know, Cain’s identity within the Endless Abyss is extremely mysterious, yet without a doubt, he is a quite powerful Evil God.

Even Demogorgon treats Cain with caution, undoubtedly seeing him as an equal.

Although Lis wasn’t sure why Cain remained so low-key, rarely appearing in either the Endless Abyss or Gaia World.

But just that one intervention on the Twelfth Floor of the Endless Abyss proved Cain’s strength.

Faced with Lis’s inquiry, Cain was silent for a moment.

He did not answer directly, nor did he refuse, but calmly said:

"Let your avatar in the Endless Abyss come to see me."

"Hmm? I understand."

Lis nodded, not refusing.

Though he didn’t know why Cain requested this, naturally, the big boss had his reasons.

Compared to the Dark Lord Grazte, Lis undoubtedly trusted Cain more.

"Where should I go to find you?"

Lis asked Cain.

"At Vivian Tavern within your territory."

Cain’s voice then disappeared.

Lis wasn’t surprised and promptly returned to Kane Floating City.

Meanwhile, the vampire avatar located on the 106th floor of the Endless Abyss slowly opened its eyes.

During this time, Lis’s vampire avatar did not waste any time.

As the lord of the 106th Abyss Plane, Lis could utilize Abyss Power to transform his Abyss Plane, to comprehend Abyss Rules.

In this period, Lis could be said to have wielded the authority of an Abyss Lord to the utmost.

The entire 106th floor had changed drastically.

Aside from keeping a portion of the Desolate Flame Plain near the core for the Balrog to survive, the other areas had been transformed by Lis into something else.

Regions like the Death Tomb of the Undead, Poisonous Swamp, Ice Hell, Gale Canyon, Endless Blood Sea—created different zones that the Abyss Demons of the 106th floor were quite unaccustomed to.

They couldn’t quite figure out what this new Abyss Lord intended, but no demon dared to voice their opinion, forced to adapt passively.

After all, their new lord became the master here by forcefully killing two Abyss Lords.

Lis didn’t care about the Abyss Demons within his territory, even though many demons followed the Abyss Will to other Abyss Planes to partake in Abyss Blood Battles.

The commotion Lis stirred up on the 106th floor was already significant enough; maintaining a low profile in other matters to avoid Demogorgon’s attention was better.

With his dedicated efforts during this time, along with the feedback from mastering World Rules, the vampire avatar’s strength had reached the verge of demigod status, only a thin veil away.

However, for now, Lis did not continue his research but left the castle to head to Vivian Tavern.

He had not changed the former lord’s Demon City, so Vivian Tavern was still in the old location.

Upon entering the tavern, Lis quickly noticed some differences.

Previously, the owner of the tavern, the enchanting demon Vivian, was no longer present, but a "familiar" face appeared before Lis.

It was the Legendary Enchanting Demon who once fought alongside Dominic against the Witch Demon Garrison.

Lis remembered her name, which was Veronica.

However, Veronica did not exhibit the flamboyant demeanor she had on the battlefield last time but instead pulled in all her charm, respectfully saying to Lis:

"Honorable Lord Lis, Veronica is pleased to see you."

"What would you like to drink?"

"A cup of the Gift of Blood, please."

Lis surveyed the Vivian Tavern and found no sign of Cain.

Or rather, besides Lis, there were no other demons in the tavern.

"Alright, please wait a moment."

Veronica nodded respectfully and then began to prepare a drink resembling blood.

Unlike before, this was a completely normal drink, not the soul-based one favored by demons.

At this moment, Veronica’s stern expression wasn’t demon-like but more akin to an angel devoutly serving a divine being.

Though this angel was perhaps a bit too "big."

Lis admired her for a few moments before noticing a distortion of light and shadow in the seat before him.

After a moment, a figure in a jet-black robe appeared before Lis.

Though unable to see the face, Lis was quite certain this was Cain.

"Here is your drink."

Veronica respectfully served Lis a cup of thick, blood-like yet fresh-smelling liquor, then placed a cup of drink resembling a blue starry sky before Cain.

After doing all this, Veronica retreated a few steps respectfully, lowering her head and waiting behind the bar for further commands.

Lis did not pay attention to Veronica, his gaze fixed on Cain.

"Lord Cain, what is your reason for summoning me here?"

"You want to resolve the trouble Demogorgon brings, which can’t be done in Gaia World."

Cain lifted the cup before him, lightly swirling it as if admiring the flowing starlight, without tasting it.

"Please enlighten me."

Lis respectfully said.

He initially did not intend to do much within the Endless Abyss.

Because Lis now clearly understood that to gain more power, Demogorgon had already merged himself with the Endless Abyss Will.

This meant that anything Lis did in the Endless Abyss would likely be discovered by Demogorgon.

Should the Demon Prince notice, Lis doubted his vampire avatar would hold any resistance.

"Don’t worry so much."

Cain shook his head slightly, then continued:

"You might already know what Demogorgon has done, but even so, it’s impossible for him to perceive everything."

"Moreover, in order to maintain his own existence, Demogorgon will somewhat resist merging and communicating with the Abyss Will."

"I understand."

Lis’s mind cleared upon hearing this.

Indeed, while Demogorgon’s merging with the Endless Abyss grants him greater power and authority, it also subjects him to the corrosion of the Endless Abyss Will.

To the rational and collected Demogorgon, this is undeniably a considerable threat.

Without a definite assurance of ultimate victory, there’s no way Demogorgon would go to such extremes.

Temporarily delaying the integration process with the Endless Abyss Will grants him more time.

In this particular aspect, Cain undoubtedly knows more than the Dark Lord Grazte.

"Lord Cain, where should I start?"

After pondering for a moment, Lis asked Cain.

Though he understood Demogorgon’s current limitations, it did not mean Lis had found a solution.

"Demogorgon chose this because the time left to him is insufficient, and also because the power of Gaia World has indeed been weakened."

Cain straightforwardly said:

"Of course, no matter how much Demogorgon plans, the likelihood of ultimate success is very low."

"Hence, Demogorgon surely has prepared a fallback plan."

"Although I have yet to see through Demogorgon’s entire plan, he definitely wouldn’t stake everything."

"Are you saying the key point is within the Saltwater Swamp?"

Lis asked with a frown, trying to inquire.

The Saltwater Swamp is Demogorgon’s territory, and if he has any arrangements, that’s the most likely place.

"Of course... not."

Cain chuckled lightly and said:

"Since he chose to place the Saltwater Swamp in the open, Demogorgon wouldn’t lay his fallback there as well."

"I believe it should be within those Abyss Planes connected to Gaia World!"
