I Became the Blacksmith NPC

Chapter 58: The God of Wealth Has Arrived

"It's Big Dumb Duck! Big Dumb Duck's team successfully obtained the Guild Establishment Permit!"

"Big Dumb Duck is awesome… wait, if they got it, why haven't they registered a guild yet?"

The nearby players heard this and curiously looked toward Big Dumb Duck, whose face immediately flushed with a hint of embarrassment. He wanted to register right away, but the Guild Establishment Permit contained no information and couldn't be used directly.

"Boss, should we go find the Village Chief first? Something this important — he should know about it."

The Transit Stone was still in their hands, and even if they placed it on the teleportation array now, it would take another 24 hours before they could travel to the Xingye Continent. If there was no way to register a guild in the Starter Village, they'd probably become the laughingstock of every player on the server.

Fortunately, the Starter Village's Village Chief didn't disappoint them. When he saw the Guild Establishment Permit, he was completely stunned — this place could actually produce something like this? He did have the authority, though.

"Please wait a moment, I'll go get the seal."

The Village Chief smiled and turned to walk into his house, after which a series of clattering and banging sounds rang out from inside — it was obvious he couldn't even remember where he'd put the seal.

Five minutes later, the Village Chief returned in a disheveled state.

"Please select nine other members to sign the Guild Establishment Permit."

"Big Dumb Duck, my name is Long Wind — can you put my name down? I can help you guys with promotion!" A shout suddenly rang out from the crowd of onlookers.

Almost forgot about you.

"No. 1, No. 7 — you two sign this paper first, then go deal with that guy called Long Wind!"

That guy had been posting all kinds of weird stuff on the forums, and if it weren't for that shout, he would've completely forgotten about him!

"Understood!" No. 1 and No. 7 excitedly wrote their IDs on the Guild Establishment Permit, then turned and pushed their way through the crowd.

Soon, ten members including Big Dumb Duck had finished signing, and the Village Chief immediately stamped it with the seal.

The next second, the Guild Establishment Permit suddenly burst into a golden radiance that shot straight up into the sky! The surrounding players erupted in waves of astonished cries.

Then the system announcement rang out.

[Huaxia Region-Wide Announcement] When the winds of change converge, heroes rise together! The world's progress has broken through a critical threshold at this moment. Player [Big Dumb Duck], with the bearing of a king, has been the first to rally like-minded companions, completing guild registration in Starter Village No. 0113 and officially establishing the guild — [Dawn Verdict]. A new legend is born!

[System Announcement]: Congratulations to [Dawn Verdict] for becoming the first guild in the entire region, Guild Number 00001. Special rewards are hereby granted:

1. Guild starting level +1.

2. All guild members receive the title: [Pioneer].

3. A [Dawn Verdict] monument will be permanently erected in Starter Village No. 0113.

4. All guild members receive +30 attribute points.

Aside from the attribute point reward, what Big Dumb Duck was most satisfied with was the third reward — having a guild monument permanently erected in the Starter Village was undoubtedly the best form of publicity. Of course, there was one thing he wasn't satisfied with: the guild name. He had originally wanted to call it the Ducky Duckling Strike Squad, but the rest of the team collectively shot it down.

"Boss, we're the first guild ever established — isn't 'Ducky Duckling Strike Squad' a bit too silly? When the region-wide server announcement goes out, we'd be laughed to death…"

"Doesn't it match my ID though?" Big Dumb Duck held his ground for a few exchanges, but ultimately gave in.

Even though everyone was being paid to do a job, there was no denying that the drive these people had shown throughout the pioneering/clearing new content process was worth far more than the money alone. After dozens of consecutive hours fighting side by side, he couldn't bring himself to treat them as mere subordinates.

As for Night's Gentle Chill and the others, they didn't emerge from the dungeon until over an hour later. Although they had also obtained a Guild Establishment Permit, Night's Gentle Chill's expression was far from pleasant. The first phase of the Void Lord had been extremely difficult — even the tank couldn't withstand the attacks of copies with ten times the attributes. The only thing they could do was keep dodging, but the Blood-Light Moths that were originally meant to train their dodging skills had all five of them hiding behind Sunny Sky, so they'd made virtually no progress. The second phase was nominally 30 players versus 30 copies, but in reality, their group of five only counted as about 2.5 people…

"Now that it's done, I should be on my way." With the mission complete, Sunny Sky waved at the group and left the party without another word. During the dungeon, Night's Gentle Chill had tried to convince him to stay, but he was used to playing solo and ultimately declined. Besides, he was exhausted — between the copies and five total deadweights, he'd nearly had a breakdown.

Spent a fortune, only to come in second?

Registering the guild in the Starter Village came with no rewards whatsoever — there wasn't even much of a crowd watching. After Big Dumb Duck established his guild, the price of the Guild Establishment Permit had plummeted by two million, but at 6.4 million, it was still enough to drive many players into the Void Space.

Compared to the sullen Night's Gentle Chill, Ye Weinuan didn't mind at all. She'd been fed up with being stuck in the dungeon for so long, and her mood had improved considerably after getting out. Seeing that the blacksmith shop was already open, Ye Weinuan broke into a quick jog.

"Master Liu! I've got… hold on — 460 mystery boxes! Help me open all of them!"

These mystery boxes had all dropped from the Path of Samsara. She hadn't had that many to begin with, but she'd spent a bit more money buying some from other players.

Hearing this, Liu Kongkong felt a surge of joy in his heart — the God of Wealth had finally arrived!

He made a show of picking up the mystery boxes one by one, slowly retrieving piece after piece of junk equipment from the storage…

"I don't even understand why you buy so many of these things. The equipment you open can't possibly be better than what you're already wearing." Night's Gentle Chill was already in a bad mood, and watching Ye Weinuan happily receive piece after piece of junk equipment made him inexplicably irritated.

"You mean this?" Ye Weinuan glanced at her own gear — she had already completed the full Furious Lion Set with help from other teams. "This doesn't look good, and it's not like we're fighting anyone right now. What's wrong with me wearing something nicer?"

"Equipment is supposed to have strong stats! What was the point of all that time we spent running dungeons?! And spending all that money on these mystery boxes…"

"Chill out, chill out — Wanwan likes it. Guild leader, just let her have this one," the five Bear brothers chimed in from the side.

"Did I spend your money?! How funny — you didn't beat Big Dumb Duck, so why are you taking it out on me? If you've got the guts, go find him. Don't throw your attitude at me!" She had never liked running dungeons to begin with, and though she'd swallowed her complaints during the intense pioneering phase, now that Night's Gentle Chill was speaking to her with a hostile tone, she finally snapped.

Hearing this, Night's Gentle Chill immediately lost his temper — she was right, he hadn't spent her money, and in fact the whole business with Sunny Sky had cost him quite a few of Ye Weinuan's in-game coins.

"Wanwan, don't be upset — I've got your back. Today we're opening mystery boxes until you're satisfied. Do you want more? I'll go ask other players for you!"

Big Bear, Second Bear, and the others all chimed in to comfort her.

"Hey~ Guild leader, I've always said women are unreasonable. You've given so much to this team, and I see it all. I'm on your side this time." No. 4 Bear sidled up next to Night's Gentle Chill and sent a private message dripping with sarcasm.

"…Thanks, but please stay away from me."

Meanwhile, Liu Kongkong judged that the timing was just right.

"Oh my~! This young lady has incredible luck — she's drawn a hidden reward!"

A hidden reward?! Hearing this, Ye Weinuan's face immediately lit up with delight as she turned to look at what Liu Kongkong was holding.

"A Cerulean Sword discount voucher?!"
