I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain
Chapter 258: Direct ConfrontationAs soon as Divine Doctor Xue spoke, Bian Suwen tensed instinctively, her posture tightening. But before she could voice any question, a figure stepped into the room—and her face darkened.
It was none other than the Saintess of the Poison Sect, Shao Wanwan.
Bian Suwen immediately took a step forward, shielding those behind her with a calm but vigilant expression. Inside was Qiu Qianwei and the still-recovering Wang Haoran, and outside the door stood Liu Yue, Ji Shuyao, and Lin Chen. She couldn’t afford even a moment’s carelessness; if Shao Wanwan made any sudden moves, it could endanger them all.
But Shao Wanwan only chuckled lightly, clearly amused by her alertness. “No need to be so nervous. I only came to see you frown and worry. I’ve no other intentions.”
Wang Haoran lay quietly on the bed, his position partially hidden from view. With Bian Suwen standing in front of him, Shao Wanwan hadn’t noticed him yet. But he, through his X-ray Vision, saw her clearly—and instantly recognized her. This was the woman he had encountered on the roadside the night before, the Poison Sect’s Saintess.
From Bian Suwen’s reaction, it was obvious there was bad blood between them. Naturally, Wang Haoran sided with Bian Suwen—she was the one he cared for more. Still, Shao Wanwan was also a female lead. He couldn’t just have her killed for Bian Suwen’s sake, right? That would be a waste. She was beautiful, after all.
No, he’d just lie low and observe. Let things play out. He’d make a move only when the time was right.
Bian Suwen locked eyes with Shao Wanwan, her voice cold. “You’re ruthless. To win a simple duel, you even used the Poison Sect’s forbidden poison. If it had gone out of control, would your sect be able to handle the fury of the hidden clans?”
Those words made Bian Suwen’s heart sink.
She could now be nearly certain—the Poison Sect’s Ancestor was still alive. Otherwise, Shao Wanwan wouldn’t be speaking so casually. And that realization chilled her to the bone.
Over a century ago, the Ancestor was already a legendary name among the reclusive sects. If he truly still walked this world, Bian Suwen knew she had no way to oppose such a force. Still, as the Valley Master of Yixian Valley, she had a duty to remain composed. Even if fear gnawed at her heart, she couldn’t show weakness—not when the honor of her sect was at stake.
She straightened her spine and met Shao Wanwan’s gaze with unflinching calm. “There’s no need to wait. The forbidden poison has already been resolved. You’ve lost.”
The poison from the Blood Prison of the Poisoned Feather had somehow been dispelled, though Bian Suwen didn’t know how. Still, it was a blessing, and she had no qualms about claiming credit for it.
“Impossible.” Shao Wanwan’s denial was immediate and firm.
They had been rivals for too long. She knew Bian Suwen’s limits. Even the last Medicine Immortal herself might not have been able to solve such a poison within a day and a half—let alone her.
“Take her to see for herself,” Bian Suwen instructed Divine Doctor Xue, anticipating this reaction.
Xue hadn’t been prepped beforehand, but he wasn’t old for nothing. The moment she spoke, he caught on.
“This way,” he said politely, gesturing for Shao Wanwan to follow.
She hesitated briefly, then stepped out with him. Ten minutes later, she returned to the room—face pale with disbelief.
“Impossible,” she said again, her voice shaken. “You couldn’t have done it. No one could have done it except the Poison Sect’s Ancestor!”
She remembered clearly the three people she had poisoned. Their features were etched in her mind. It was impossible for Bian Suwen to have swapped them with look-alikes.
Which could only mean one thing—the poison had truly been neutralized. But that truth was something Shao Wanwan couldn’t accept.
“Only the Ancestor can resolve the Blood Prison of the Poisoned Feather? Bullshit. I did it,” Wang Haoran muttered internally, scoffing at her arrogance. Still, her mention of the Ancestor piqued his curiosity.
He had mastered the Supreme Poison Scripture. He was the unrivaled sovereign of poisons—how could he accept the existence of someone more fearsome?
As a proper villain, he couldn’t allow another “bad guy” to outshine him.
With a thought, he summoned the system. “Look up info on the Poison Sect’s Ancestor.”
The system had a search function. So long as the person wasn’t the protagonist or a heroine, it could identify people based on title or affiliation.
【Searching will cost 500 Villain Points. Proceed?】
What the hell? When he looked up that skin-thickened battle god and the genius protagonist Lin Chen, it only cost 200 points. This old fossil needed 500?
He grumbled to himself, but with over 30,000 Villain Points sitting on his panel, he wasn’t too concerned.
“Search.”
【Poison Sect Ancestor has been dead for over fifty years. No further data available.】
“…That’s it?” Wang Haoran’s face nearly cracked from disbelief.
So the old man was long dead? What a waste of points. Then again, that did mean there was no one left who could threaten his reign as the poison master.
Nearby, Bian Suwen sneered. “What, you think your Ancestor helped me? If I didn’t resolve it, then who did? The truth is right in front of you. Are you really going to deny it?”
Shao Wanwan bit her lip. According to custom, she had lost—she should take her own life. She had delivered the challenge with her own hands, after all.
But could she accept such a fate? If she backed out, the Poison Sect would become a laughingstock among the hidden clans.
While she wrestled with herself, Bian Suwen spoke again. “Our two sects have been at odds for years. We’ve both suffered losses, but neither side has ever gained true ground. I’ve won this time, but I don’t need your life. All I ask is that, for the next twenty years, the Poison Sect does not engage Yixian Valley in any conflict.”
“You’re the Saintess. Though your Ancestor still lives but dont take charge of your sect affairs, that makes you the one in charge.”
Her voice remained composed, but inwardly, she was cautious. If the Ancestor truly were still alive and she forced Shao Wanwan to die now, it might provoke a storm of retribution that Yixian Valley couldn’t withstand.
But in twenty years? She had full confidence that her skills would surpass anything they could throw at her. She’d use the time to reach new heights—and by then, she’d fear no one.
Shao Wanwan saw through her intentions at once, but one question still lingered. “I only met the Ancestor by chance last night and found out he was alive. How did you know?”
At that moment, Wang Haoran’s heart jolted.
So that’s what this was about. The “Ancestor” Shao Wanwan ran into last night… she’d mistaken him for the Poison Sect’s founder?
He nearly burst out laughing on the spot.
