After taking her medicine, the tight knot in Mu Nanzhi’s brow finally loosened a little. The pain had subsided slightly.

But Bian Suwen could no longer hold back her growing suspicions. In a careful tone, she asked, “Nanzhi… is there something you want to tell me?”

Mu Nanzhi’s expression turned complicated. Her lips pressed tightly together, and she said nothing.

Seeing that only made Bian Suwen more certain of her guess. She leaned forward slightly and said, “You can’t just keep running from this. If you tell me what happened, maybe I can help.”

Then, realizing how little help she could offer in terms of actual strength, she quickly added, “Well… maybe not me personally. But my eldest and second sisters, they’re both powerful. Especially my big sister—if anyone dares to bully you, she’ll stand up for you and cut that bastard to pieces. No—she’ll finish them off on the spot.”

Mu Nanzhi let out a strained breath and murmured, “There’s nothing for her to cut.”

“Eh?” Bian Suwen blinked, not quite catching her meaning.

Mu Nanzhi knew she couldn’t hide it from her. She also trusted Bian Suwen enough to believe she wouldn’t breathe a word to anyone else. So, after hesitating briefly, she finally opened up and told her everything that had happened.

The moment Bian Suwen finished listening, her face darkened with fury. “That witch! I’ll make her pay for this!”

In a way, Mu Nanzhi didn’t even have anything to do with the original conflict. It was just that Shao Wanwan redirected her anger—and her vengeance—onto her instead.

“She’s got… something on me,” Mu Nanzhi said hesitantly, seeing Bian Suwen ready to charge out and raise hell. “She’s using it to blackmail me.”

“What kind of leverage?” Bian Suwen asked, confused.

Mu Nanzhi looked torn, her cheeks coloring with shame. But in the end, she leaned in and whispered the details into Bian Suwen’s ear.

Once she heard it, Bian Suwen clenched her small fists. Her chest heaved with anger. “That’s… that’s downright vile. We can’t let her get away with this!”

“I don’t want to, either,” Mu Nanzhi said bitterly. “But she still has the upper hand.”

“Then we take it back,” Bian Suwen said firmly. “Once her leverage is gone, she can’t threaten you anymore.”

Mu Nanzhi’s eyes dimmed. “And how are we supposed to do that?”

She was completely shaken. Her mind was too clouded to think of any solutions.

“With someone like her, we don’t need to play fair. We’ll pay her back by her own trick.” Bian Suwen’s eyes burned with determination.

Normally, she would never entertain such thoughts. But knowing Mu Nanzhi had suffered because of her feud with Shao Wanwan, she couldn’t sit back anymore.

“She’s a witch,” Mu Nanzhi said doubtfully. “Do you really think she’d care?”

“She’s a witch, no doubt about that. She acts wild, flirty, and fearless on the outside… but deep down, she’s actually pretty conservative. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s still a virgin,” Bian Suwen said.

Mu Nanzhi’s eyes widened. “Seriously?”

“Trust me,” Bian Suwen said with certainty.

Seeing how serious she was, Mu Nanzhi didn’t question it further. If that were true, then this might actually work. It wouldn’t just be revenge—it would let her reclaim the leverage Shao Wanwan held over her.

But then, a troubling thought struck her.

Their eyes met, and both women realized the same problem at once.

They were both women. They couldn’t do it themselves. If they wanted to carry out this plan, they needed help.

“You come up with something,” Mu Nanzhi said first.

Bian Suwen frowned, clearly troubled. Finding someone to carry out the plan wasn’t going to be easy.

She couldn’t ask some shady character from the underworld—those people were too unreliable. But if she picked someone honest and upright, they’d probably refuse outright.

Worse, to keep things quiet, it had to be someone absolutely trustworthy.

She racked her brain, flipping through every memory, every name she knew. Then suddenly, a person came to mind.

In fact, from a certain angle, whoever pulls it off would actually stand to gain quite a lot.

So why let a stranger benefit from this? Why not give that chance to one of her own?

Someone she could trust completely, without any fear that the secret would ever leak.

Even if she didn’t care about her own name being dragged through the mud, she still had to consider the reputation of Yixian Valley.

This wasn’t something the righteous path would condone.

“You thought of someone?” Mu Nanzhi asked, noticing the light that sparked in Bian Suwen’s eyes.

“I did.” Bian Suwen nodded.

“Who? Are they reliable?” Mu Nanzhi asked again.

“My boyfriend,” Bian Suwen said after a pause, voice a little hesitant. “I can trust him completely.”

Mu Nanzhi stared at her, stunned. “You have a boyfriend?”

“Sorry… you’re only finding out now,” Bian Suwen said sheepishly.

“No wonder you’ve been lingering in Qingling,” Mu Nanzhi murmured, some of her past suspicions finally clicking into place. Then she looked even more surprised. “Wait… you’re going to let your boyfriend do that? You’re not jealous?”

“Of course I’m jealous,” Bian Suwen said through gritted teeth. “But I hate Shao Wanwan even more.”

“Will he even agree to this?” Mu Nanzhi asked, still uncertain.

“I’m not planning to tell him the truth.”

Bian Suwen wasn’t stupid. Her boyfriend wasn’t hers alone. If her second and seventh sisters ever found out, there would be hell to pay.

“Then how are you going to make it happen without him knowing?” Mu Nanzhi asked, confused.

“It’s simple. I’ll make him think Shao Wanwan is me. Cover his eyes, and he won’t know a thing.” Bian Suwen’s plan was ruthless, but it was clear she thought it through.

Mu Nanzhi trembled. The words “cover his eyes” struck a raw nerve.

That method felt far too familiar.

A deep bitterness welled up inside her, and she suddenly said, “When the time comes, I want her to confess who the man she dragged in was.”

Even if that man had been taken by force, he was still involved. He was not innocent in her eyes.

She had no intention of playing the merciful victim. No thoughts of forgiveness lingered in her heart.

“No problem. When the time comes, you can decide if he lives or dies,” Bian Suwen promised.

Once they had laid out the plan, Bian Suwen didn’t leave.

She knew Mu Nanzhi wasn’t the type to hurt herself over something like this. But still, in her current fragile state, she needed someone nearby to talk to, someone to keep her grounded.

The next morning, as the sunlight broke through the clouds, Bian Suwen dragged Mu Nanzhi, whose discomfort had mostly faded ou,t for breakfast.

Mu Nanzhi did not want to go. She really didn’t want to see anyone.

But Bian Suwen understood that if she let her lock herself away, the emotional burden would only grow heavier.

She needed to reconnect with the outside world, to slowly dilute the weight this trauma had left on her soul.

Mu Nanzhi eventually relented and followed her down to the hotel restaurant.

Bian Suwen ordered a feast. Mu Nanzhi had no appetite at all, but after much coaxing, she managed to force down a few bites.

“Nanzhi?”

A surprised voice called out from nearby.

Mu Nanzhi had been keeping her head low, but the sound made her look up instinctively.

A man wearing a baseball cap stood not far from them. The brim of his hat was pulled down low, obscuring most of his face.

She didn’t recognize him.

The man saw the confusion in her eyes. He looked around quickly, then stepped closer and lifted the brim of his cap just enough to show his face.

“Master?” Mu Nanzhi blinked in shock. She recognized him immediately.

Qin Fan lowered his cap again and casually took a seat at the table beside hers.

“What a coincidence, Nanzhi. Never thought I’d run into you here,” Qin Fan said with a cheerful smile.

But Mu Nanzhi’s expression remained calm.

She was full of regret. If she hadn’t come to Qingling, none of this would’ve happened. She wouldn’t have suffered so much.

Qin Fan noticed something was off. “You don’t look well. What happened?”

Mu Nanzhi didn’t want anyone else to know what had happened to her. Aside from Bian Suwen, no one else could understand. She forced a smile and shook her head.

“I’m fine. Really.”

Qin Fan didn’t believe her, but he didn’t push.

Even though she was sitting right there, Mu Nanzhi was lost in thought. She couldn’t bring herself to chat or catch up. She quietly picked up a piece of cake and chewed without much interest.

Qin Fan waited until she finished, hoping to speak with her then. As he waited, his fingers moved on instinct. He pinched them together in calculation, trying to get a glimpse of his pretty disciple’s future love life.

A moment later, his brows furrowed deeply.
