Chapter 5: Chapter 5
Lysander’s pov
Classes hadn’t even ended when my phone vibrated again.
I already knew who it was before checking.
Gideon.
A cold feeling settled heavily in my stomach as I unlocked the screen beneath the desk.
A hotel address stared back at me, another message appeared immediately afterward.
Be there after class, little bitch. You can scream however you want there.
My grip tightened painfully around the phone as disgust crawled violently beneath my skin.
For several long seconds, I simply stared at the message while nausea twisted in my stomach.
Around me, students continued packing their bags and chatting casually while the professor spoke at the front of the classroom.
Meanwhile, it felt like my entire life was collapsing quietly beneath the surface.
Slowly, I forced myself to type back.
I’ll come.
The moment the message was sent, I locked my phone and shoved it deep into my bag like I wanted to bury it.
No matter how desperately I wanted Drake, the person touching me wasn’t him. The thought alone made shame burn through my chest.
I left campus almost immediately and by the time I returned home, my nerves were stretched so tightly I felt sick.
The mansion was quiet.
I headed upstairs immediately and locked myself inside my bedroom before finally opening the Gallerylive again for the first time since last night.
The moment the app loaded, my chest tightened painfully.
Hundreds of unread notifications flooded the screen.
Private messages, mentions and donations from last night’s clip.
Humiliation crashed over me so hard I nearly closed the app again immediately.
As expected, almost everyone assumed Gideon was my "Master." The comments were filled with teasing messages asking when he would appear again. Some people even said we looked perfect together.
My stomach twisted violently.
No.
Gideon wasn’t my Master.
The only person I’d ever wanted was Professor Drake, always Drake.
Even after everything that happened, that feeling hadn’t changed at all and somehow, realizing that made something inside me finally harden.
Because the truth was simple.
What happened with Gideon wasn’t what I wanted, it never had been and maybe for the first time since last night, I realized I didn’t have to remain trapped forever.
I scrolled silently through the messages until one stopped me completely.
Are you okay?
That guy was too rough. You didn’t look happy.
My throat tightened instantly.
Out of all the disgusting comments and fantasies people sent me, that single message almost made me cry.
Because somebody noticed that something was wrong. My fingers hovered over the keyboard for several seconds before I finally replied.
Don’t worry. This will all end soon.
I stared at the message after sending it and for the first time all day, I truly believed it.
Because Darius would return home soon and no matter how cold or distant he seemed sometimes, Darius cared about one thing more than anything else:
The family reputation.
There was no way he would tolerate the truth about Gideon or accept the fact that his own son forced himself onto his stepbrother.
As long as Darius learned the truth before Gideon twisted the story first, everything could still return to normal.
My life could go back to the way it was before.
And maybe I could finally confess to Drake properly.
The thought alone made my chest ache softly.
Besides, I looked too much like my mother.
As long as I seemed frightened enough, vulnerable enough, Darius would believe me.
I just needed everything to happen naturally.
He needed to "discover" the truth himself.
That would work better than accusing Gideon directly.
So I waited and waited.
Half an hour passed beyond Darius’s usual arrival time.
Still nothing.
Meanwhile, my phone kept vibrating nonstop with messages from Gideon.
Leaving yet?
Don’t make me come get you myself.
You know what happens when you disappoint me.
Every message made my anxiety worse.
I lied repeatedly just to buy more time.
I’m still shopping.
Traffic is bad.
I had to stop somewhere first.
But eventually even excuses stopped helping.
I kept glancing toward the bedroom door every few seconds, pulse pounding harder each time.
Finally, the sound of a car entering the garage echoed faintly from downstairs.
Relief hit me so hard my knees nearly weakened.
Darius was home.
Immediately, I hurried into the bathroom and grabbed the eyedrops from the cabinet.
My hands trembled while I forced several drops into my eyes until they turned red and watery. I messed up my hair deliberately and pulled open the collar of my hoodie just enough to expose the bruises on my neck.
Perfect.
Footsteps echoed faintly from downstairs.
Darius was coming up.
My heartbeat became unbearably loud.
I cracked my bedroom door open slightly before quickly calling Gideon.
The call connected almost immediately.
The footsteps grew closer.
Now.
This was my chance.
Before fear could stop me, I forced my voice to shake.
"Please... don’t do this," I said loudly enough for the hallway to hear. "I’m your brother, at least in name..."
My pulse thundered wildly in my chest.
"Bastard!" I choked out deliberately. "Dad will never forgive you! Stop forcing me!"
I even let my voice break near the end.
He went silent.
The silence felt wrong.
For one horrible second, I wondered if the call disconnected somehow.
But when I checked the screen, the call was still active.
Cold unease crept slowly down my spine when suddenly—
A familiar laugh sounded directly outside my bedroom door.
My blood turned to ice instantly.
Slowly, I looked up.
Gideon stood there leaning lazily against the doorway, smiling and holding his own phone in one hand.
The realization hit me so hard I nearly stopped breathing.
Which meant— he heard everything my desperate attempt to trap him.
Gideon’s smile widened slightly as understanding settled across my face.
"So I guessed right," he said softly, amusement dripping from every word. "Poor little brother still doesn’t understand what’s happening."
I instinctively stepped backward.
Gideon entered the room slowly, trapping me.
"I sent Father on vacation with his wife this morning," he continued lazily. "A full week away."
My stomach dropped violently.
No.
No, no, no—
For the first time since entering the room, genuine excitement darkened Gideon’s expression.
"There’s only the two of us here now."
He repeated the words again, slowly.
"Only. The. Two. Of. Us."
Real fear crashed over me instantly.
Gideon leaned against the doorway like a satisfied cat cornering prey.
Then casually, he flicked something once in his hand.
A whip.
The sharp sound sliced through the room.
My entire body froze.
The amusement faded slightly from Gideon’s face, replaced instead by something darker.
"The game’s over," he said quietly, his lips curled into a cruel smile.
"And now the punishment for bad boys finally begins."
At that moment, standing trapped inside my own bedroom while Gideon blocked the only exit, I realized something horrifying.
I was completely doomed.
