Lukas remained standing before the second sphere of energy, watching its red glow pulse slowly within that completely white space.
The light was different from the first sphere he had absorbed, more intense, more concentrated, like a flame burning with a silent passion.
It was different from the first one. The colorful sphere that contained his Affinity with Beings ability gave off a warm, welcoming feeling, as if it represented the bonds he had built throughout his life, the connections that united him with the creatures he loved.
This one, however, was simple. A single color. A deep, intense red, like blood or fire, that seemed to contain a primordial and powerful energy. There were no variations, no nuances, only that vibrant and unmistakable color.
Even so, Lukas felt the same sense of familiarity. As if that energy had always been a part of him and had merely been waiting for the right moment to awaken, to reveal itself, to fully merge with his essence.
He took a deep breath, feeling the nonexistent air of that white world fill his lungs in a way that made no physical sense, yet was absolutely real to his consciousness.
Without the slightest hesitation, he slowly reached out his hand. His fingers touched the surface of the sphere.
At that very instant, it dissolved into countless red particles. The tiny lights completely enveloped his body before passing through him without meeting any resistance, as though they were made of the same substance as he was.
There was no explosion. No pain. Not even a surprise. It was simply... natural. Like breathing. Like taking a step. As if that energy were merely returning to the place where it had always belonged, as if it were finally coming home.
A pleasant feeling of completeness spread throughout his entire existence, filling spaces he had never even realized were empty. It was as though a missing piece of a puzzle had finally found its proper place.
At the same time, countless pieces of information began to emerge within his mind. They were not words he read like the previous descriptions. They were understood, absorbed, and integrated. It was as though that knowledge had always been hidden deep within his soul, merely waiting for that very moment to awaken.
A few seconds later, two words appeared before his eyes, shining with an intense crimson light.
[Conquest Bond]
Lukas silently stared at the name, allowing the words to engrave themselves into his mind. He knew. Instinctively, he knew. This was his second true ability.
Just like Affinity with Beings, it belonged exclusively to him. It was not an ability that anyone could awaken, nor something that could be learned or copied. It was unique, special, made for him alone.
New words began to appear just below, forming a detailed description that expanded before his eyes.
[Conquest Bond (Unique)]
[Upon completely defeating a being in battle, a Conquest Bond may be formed between the two of you. This is not a conscious choice, but a natural consequence of your victory.]
[A bonded being will acknowledge your victory and will have extreme difficulty harboring hostility, a desire for revenge, or betrayal toward you. This is not mental manipulation but a profound understanding that you are superior.]
[The bond does not control the mind or alter the individual’s personality. They retain their own will, memories, and ability to make decisions. What changes is their perception of you.]
[After the conquest, the affinity between the two of you will naturally increase much faster than normal, provided you do not betray the trust that has been built. Victory creates a foundation for respect.]
[The stronger the bond forged after the battle, the faster the affinity will grow. A difficult victory, an epic battle, will create deeper bonds than an easy victory.]
[Upon reaching ninety-five percent affinity, the Affinity with Beings ability may permanently grant you one of that being’s natural talents or abilities.]
Lukas remained completely motionless, processing every word, every detail of that description. So... this was how the two abilities worked together.
If he encountered a friendly creature, he could earn its trust naturally. By talking, helping, and living alongside it. The path of friendship, partnership, and companionship is built day after day.
But... not every creature in that world was peaceful. There were violent monsters that attacked without hesitation. Territorial beasts that fiercely defended their domain. Extremely aggressive animals that viewed any intruder as a threat. Perhaps even people, enemies who would never yield to words alone.
With this second ability... even an enemy could one day become an ally. He simply had to defeat them, prove his superiority, and show that he was worthy of respect.
His heart raced, pounding powerfully within his chest. It was not an ability that granted him strength. Nor did it increase his mana. Nor did it make his attacks more powerful. It merely created an opportunity.
An opportunity that would depend entirely on him.
’So...’ Lukas lowered his head, reflecting deeply on the implications of that ability.
’If I want to make full use of this ability... I’ll have to become much stronger.’
The conclusion came naturally, a truth he could not ignore. He would have to be capable of defeating his opponents, of proving his superiority in battle. Only after victory could the Conquest Bond come into existence.
After that... his first ability would do the rest. Affinity would naturally grow, nurtured by the respect that victory had created. And once it reached the required level, another ability would be obtained.
A smile slowly appeared on his face, a smile of understanding and admiration. It was a cycle. First, he became stronger through training and dedication. Then he defeated new beings, proving his worth. They became allies, bound to him through victory.
Affinity increased, growing through coexistence and mutual respect. He gained new talents, abilities that expanded his power. And those talents made him even stronger to face even more powerful opponents.
The more he thought about it, the more perfect that combination seemed. It was almost as if the two abilities had been created to work together, as though they were two sides of the same coin.
"Fantastic..." His voice echoed through that white space, a whisper filled with admiration.
Lukas closed his eyes for a moment, feeling the weight of what he had discovered.
He had never imagined awakening two abilities. Much less two Unique Abilities, two abilities that existed only once in the entire world.
His dream of traveling the world, discovering new species, making friends, and becoming stronger suddenly felt much closer. Every creature was an opportunity, every encounter a possibility. With these abilities, building a gigantic zoo in the future would no longer be just a dream, it would be an achievable goal, a future he could truly create.
Then he took a deep breath, feeling an unusual sense of peace within that strange place. He felt that this place had nothing more to show him. Everything he needed to discover had already been revealed.
Instinctively, he wished to return.
At that very instant... the entire white space began to disappear.
