I Built a Divine Zoo in Another World

Chapter 211: Forming the Mana Source (7)

The walk back to the mansion was silent, wrapped in a tranquility that felt different from every previous night.

Not because there was anything left to say, but because they both knew that moment deserved only to be lived, savored like a rare fruit at the peak of its ripeness.

The nighttime forest remained peaceful, illuminated by the silvery glow of the nearly full moon, which seemed to have leaned closer just to witness that moment.

Its light filtered through the high branches of the ancient trees, painting long, dancing shadows across the dirt path covered with dry leaves.

The wind blew gently between the trunks, carrying the scent of damp leaves, moss, and fresh earth.

Lukas walked a few steps behind Clavor, his feet finding the path with the familiarity that training had granted him.

His body felt as heavy as lead, each step demanding an effort he had not felt in weeks. His legs still obeyed the commands of his will, but every muscle protested quietly after hours of physical training during the day and more than two hours of absolute concentration while forming the Lunar Source.

The physical exhaustion was immense, his muscles crying out for rest after so many hours of effort. But the mental exhaustion was even greater, a deep weariness that seemed to come from somewhere beyond the body.

Keeping his mind completely still while guiding mana particle by particle through his own body had required a level of concentration he had never imagined he possessed. A focus so intense that it had drained the deepest reserves of his mental energy.

Even so, a smile stubbornly remained on his face, an expression of pure happiness that no amount of exhaustion could erase.

Whenever he focused his attention on his chest, he could sense that tiny presence, fragile, minuscule, almost imperceptible, yet real. His Mana Source.

It was still only a tiny newly formed core, incapable of strengthening even a single finger, yet its very existence changed everything.

For an entire week, he had believed that he might never even be able to sense mana, that his talent was insufficient, that his path as a warrior had been blocked before it had even begun.

Now, that tiny moon pulsed within him, a promise of everything he could one day become.

Without realizing it, he raised one hand to his chest, his fingers pressing gently against the fabric of his robe. He felt nothing but the cloth against his skin, yet he knew that hidden beneath his flesh, protected by his own heart, that tiny crescent moon continued to pulse softly, like a second heartbeat perfectly synchronized with his own.

Clavor noticed the gesture, his eyes catching the movement even in the dimness of the night.

"Can you still feel it?"

Lukas nodded immediately, his voice carrying a happiness that was difficult to hide.

"I can. It’s very faint... but it feels alive."

A faint smile appeared on Clavor’s face, one filled with understanding and memory.

"Because it is."

They continued walking, their footsteps echoing softly through the silent night.

"The Source isn’t just a reservoir of mana," he explained, his voice taking on the instructive tone that Lukas had already learned to recognize.

"Once it is born, it begins to grow together with your body and your mind. The better you cultivate it, the more powerful it will become."

Lukas listened attentively, every word being engraved into his mind like a precious lesson.

"So it never stops growing?"

"Never." Clavor kept his eyes on the path, his voice calm and steady.

"A warrior spends an entire lifetime strengthening their Source. Even those who reach the highest realms continue expanding its capacity, discovering new limits, overcoming old barriers."

Lukas fell silent, absorbing that information. It made perfect sense. The greater the Source, the greater the amount of mana available, the greater the strengthening of the body, and the greater his power would become.

It was a path without end, a journey that would last his entire life. Without realizing it, his determination grew even stronger, a flame burning within his chest.

Not long afterward, the trees began to thin out, the vegetation opening into increasingly larger clearings.

The gardens of the Dmond Mansion appeared ahead, their familiar shapes emerging from the darkness. The night-blooming flowers scattered throughout the flowerbeds released a soft, sweet fragrance that drifted through the air, while small magical lanterns discreetly illuminated the stone path leading to the main entrance.

Most of the mansion was already completely dark, its windows as black as closed eyes. The servants had probably already gone to rest, their duties finished until dawn.

Even so, two figures remained waiting at the front entrance, their silhouettes outlined by the faint glow of the lanterns.

Aurora and Judite.

The moment they recognized father and son crossing the gardens, both hurried down the steps, their hurried footsteps echoing through the silent night.

"Lukas!" Aurora called as she quickly approached. Her face showed obvious concern, her eyes searching her son for any sign that something was wrong.

"You took so long... Is everything alright?"

Before he could even answer, Judite had already stopped in front of him, her eyes quickly scanning his face, then his arms, his clothes, and his hands, as though searching for some hidden wound. Some sign that something had gone wrong.

"You look pale..." She frowned, a crease of worry appearing on her forehead.

"Did something happen?"

Lukas looked at the two of them, feeling the exhaustion weighing heavily on his shoulders. His fatigue still made his legs feel heavy, his mind seemed empty, and his eyes burned with exhaustion. Even so, he smiled so broadly that it practically lit up his face, an expression of pure joy that swept away every trace of concern.

"I’m better than ever, Mom."

Aurora blinked in surprise.

"Better than ever?"

"Yes." He let out a soft laugh, a sound carrying all of his happiness.

"I’ve never been this happy."

His answer only deepened their confusion. Aurora glanced at Clavor, her eyes silently asking for an explanation.

That was when he calmly rested one hand on his wife’s shoulder, his touch firm and reassuring.

"Everything is fine." His voice was calm, carrying a certainty that allowed no room for doubt.

"But he truly needs to rest."

He looked briefly at Lukas, his eyes assessing his son’s condition.

"His body and, above all, his mind have reached their limit today."

Aurora turned back to her son, her motherly eyes noticing details that had previously escaped her.

The faint dark circles beneath his eyes, the paleness of his skin, his slumped shoulders, his heavy breathing. Even while smiling, Lukas was clearly completely exhausted, his body and mind desperately asking for rest.

She sighed, a mixture of concern and relief.

"Alright..." She stepped closer and gently stroked his white hair, her fingers gliding softly through the unruly strands.

"You can tell me everything tomorrow."
