The expression immediately caught his attention, a word that stood out among the others. That meant there was a limit, an invisible boundary that defined the range of his ability. It did not work on every rat in the world, only on those within a certain region.

But... how large was that region? A few meters? Hundreds of meters? The entire forest? He had no idea, and there was no way to know without testing it.

The only concrete information was the experience from the previous night, the glimpse he had experienced. The rats, through which he had seen, seemed to be scattered across several different points of the forest, some nearby, others farther away, some in places he had never visited.

Some were so far from the mansion that Lukas wondered how his ability could even reach them.

This indicated that his area of influence was probably quite large, extending across a significant portion of the forest. Still, it was only an assumption, an estimate based on a single experience.

He continued reading, his eyes moving across the following lines.

The second description appeared just below, its letters glowing with a soft intensity.

[As the Rat King, you can connect your consciousness to any rat under your domain.]

Lukas felt his heart accelerate, his heartbeat echoing in his ears. So... that was exactly what had happened. He really had not imagined anything, nor had he dreamed. His consciousness had been directly connected to the senses of those animals, allowing him to experience the world through their eyes, ears, and noses.

The memory of the vision close to the ground immediately returned, vivid and clear. The dry leaves stretched out like a miniature forest. The sounds, the smells, the sensations.

Then, the underground tunnels, the darkness, the thick roots crossing the ceiling. Finally, the rat balanced on the branch of the tree, Dmond Mansion stretching out below it.

Everything made sense now, every piece falling into place.

He remained silent for a few seconds before continuing, absorbing that revelation.

The third description caught his attention even more, its words glowing with a more intense light.

[Using mana, you can send mental commands to the rats under your domain. The greater the number of rats used simultaneously, the greater the mana consumption.]

Lukas’s eyes widened slightly, his breathing quickening.

"Mental... commands?"

Could he command the rats, guide them, and use their collective intelligence to accomplish tasks?

He stared at that sentence for a long time, its implications unfolding before him like an endless tapestry. The possibilities were vast, almost beyond his imagination.

He could use the rats as eyes and ears, spreading them throughout the forest to watch and report. He could send them to gather information, find paths, and warn him of dangers.

His first impulse was to test it immediately, to send a simple command to some nearby rat and see what happened. But he quickly restrained his curiosity, holding it back with a firm hand.

"No. Not yet."

He had just awakened that ability, barely understanding its basic functions. Acting on impulse would be a mistake, an unnecessary risk. Especially after Clavor’s words throughout all the training, the lesson he had learned so well: knowledge always came before practice.

He took a deep breath, calming his excitement. He continued reading.

The fourth piece of information appeared slowly, its letters forming with a deliberation that suggested importance.

[This is an evolutionary ability.]

Few words, but enough to awaken even more questions in his mind.

Evolutionary. That meant it could still grow, that this was not its complete form, but only the beginning. Perhaps new abilities would emerge in the future, new ways of using the ability. Perhaps his area of influence would increase, allowing him to reach rats in more distant regions.

Maybe... No.

Lukas interrupted his own thoughts before they could begin creating unfounded expectations, a web of assumptions that had no basis in reality. It was still too early to speculate, too early to dream about distant possibilities. First, he needed to understand what he already had.

The final line appeared just below, the letters forming with a clarity that drew his attention.

[Origin: Rourke. Ability acquired through affinity with the Mutant Rat.]

This time, Lukas remained completely motionless, his breath caught in his throat. Mutant Rat. So that was how the ability itself classified Rourke, not Rat King, not Rank A Monster, but simply a mutant rat, a unique variation of his species.

The information seemed to confirm part of his suspicions, giving substance to his theories.

Perhaps Rourke really was a new existence, something different from the old monster, free from the corruption that had consumed it. Something unique, which could not be compared to what had come before.

Lukas let out a slow sigh, the air leaving his lungs like a release of tension.

The wind began to blow over the hill again, cool and pleasant. Even with his eyes closed, he could feel the breeze touching his face, the warmth of the sun on his skin. In the distance, he heard Astra’s characteristic cry cutting across the sky, a sound that was both familiar and comforting.

Somewhere in the forest, Tilbo continued exploring peacefully, his presence a silent constant. And Rourke... was probably still sniffing around for roots and seeds, completely unaware that he carried such an extraordinary ability.

A small smile appeared on Lukas’s lips, a smile of acceptance and gratitude.

"It seems that the two of us still have a lot to learn..."

He slowly opened his eyes, his eyelashes lifting like butterfly wings. The silver panel disappeared like mist beneath the sunlight, its edges dissolving into the air. The great rock once again filled his entire field of vision, its surface gray and uneven.

Before him, the forest remained peaceful, illuminated by the golden rays of the afternoon. The trees swayed gently in the wind, their leaves producing a constant whisper. The birds sang, the insects buzzed, and life continued on its course.

For a few moments, Lukas simply remained seated, allowing all that information to settle into his mind like sediment in a calm lake. The ability existed, it was real, and although it was still surrounded by countless mysteries, one thing was already certain.

From that day onward, his understanding of Rourke would never be the same.
