"Are you sure?!" Rindo asked loudly while he held his weapon in front of the fist of another undead.
The metal bent under the pressure and he was pushed several steps back.
"No!" Seris answered harshly and started running herself, her eyes fixed on Cindar.
Was she sure her idea was correct? Of course not, how could she be sure about something like this?
But she could not let the Calamity be expelled from the world and besides, after seeing that Cindar could not move, this was the best chance to get rid of him.
"But this is the best chance we have right now!"
Of course, she first attacked the Black Silence, if she could kill this creature in this state too, that would be even better.
However, the Calamity easily dodged her attacks, and even the attacks that hit him could not leave even a scratch.
The Black Silence only defended and dodged, and could not attack, but it made no difference.
After that, she tried to attack him from other angles too, but after seeing that it was useless, she moved toward Cindar.
And after reaching him, she moved her sword behind her body and prepared to strike.
Darian also changed his focus from a distance, the Seven-Colored Sky Bow was lowered in his hand.
Now it rose again, the bowstring was pulled, and the seven lights gathered around it.
Tavern had also heard Seris’s voice, his face, which had been broken from the moment he saw the Founder, now showed nothing but cold anger.
Cindar noticed it, his eyes left Lian for a moment.
Seris was getting closer, Darian was preparing his arrow, Rindo was leaving his battle and Tavern had raised his sword.
Cindar could not move his hand away from his chest, something like real anxiety appeared on his face.
His head turned toward the four undead.
"Stop them." He ordered in a cold voice.
But no one moved, the swordsman stood several dozen meters away.
The Root Controller stood among a wave of broken roots.
The Cindari mage was still standing among steam and fire with his half-destroyed body.
And the Cindari Big had also stopped his attack for a moment.
The four only looked at him.
"I said stop them." Cindar raised his voice this time while keeping the pressure on the seal on his chest.
Again, there was no movement and they completely ignored him, something changed in his eyes, disbelief and then anger.
"I gave you an order!" he shouted.
But again there was only silence, the four undead took their eyes away from him.
Slowly, almost at the same time, they turned them toward Lian, this simple movement was enough and Cindar understood.
Years ago, when he was still controlling everything from inside the coffin and the hidden network of the later generations, he had allowed the story of the "Father" to take shape.
Not because of faith but because of necessity, every generation needed something greater than itself to worship.
Something that would tell them that protecting the tree and the process of transferring the Calamity from the Titan to the tree and preparing the return of the Black Silence was not only a political duty.
It was a sacred duty and after generations passed, the story became a belief, the belief became a ritual and the ritual became worship.
Above the Founder...was the Father.
And the Black Silence was one of the Father’s children.
For the first time, Cindar saw the real result of something he himself had planted, those four creatures did not serve him.
When they were forced to choose between the Founder and the Father’s Child, their choice had already been decided.
"I created you!" He shouted with broken anger and for a moment even the focus of his seal shook.
There was no answer, not a single word, no bow and not even a look, the swordsman only turned his face completely toward the Black Silence.
And the others also looked at the Calamity so they could hear his order, but he said nothing, and did not try to stop Cindar’s death....as if a new idea had come to his mind.
This silence was more humiliating than any other answer.
The tradition Cindar had created to control generations had now become his own nightmare.
At that moment Darian released the bowstring.
Fisssh!
A line of seven-colored light crossed the battlefield.
Cindar saw it from the corner of his eye, raised his free hand, and invisible pressure formed.
The arrow was deflected two meters away from his body, but this time the defense was not complete.
The seven-colored light passed beside his shoulder, tore away part of his dried flesh and ancient armor, and dark blood came out of his body.
And this one second was enough for Seris.
[Moonless Severance.]
A cutting line appeared directly on Cindar’s neck, he moved his head back, and the cut only opened the surface of his skin.
But before he could release another wave of pressure, Tavern arrived from behind, his sword went directly into Cindar’s side.
He turned his body, and instead of his heart, the blade passed through his side.
More blood came out and Tavern gritted his teeth.
"That was it?!" Cindar looked at him with hatred and released another wave of invisible pressure from his body.
Tavern blocked it with his sword in front of himself, but he was still thrown several meters back.
Rindo entered from the other side, his sword struck the thigh of the Cindari Founder and created a deep wound.
Cindar struck with his free hand, Rindo rolled on the ground, but before he could stand up, two other Cindari who had been ready with Tavern also attacked their own Founder.
For several seconds, something broke in Cindar’s expression, people from the race he himself had created were trying to kill him.
"Ungrateful..." He said angrily and released another wave of invisible pressure around him.
One of the Cindari was thrown into the air, his armor broke and the other fell onto one knee.
But the attack did not stop, Darian raised his bow again, and light gathered.
Seris approached from the left.
Tavern pulled himself up from the dirt.
Cindar looked at all of them, he had to fight several enemies at the same time while using a large part of his power on the Anchor.
Should he let it go? But he knew that even if he let it go, nothing would change, the Black Silence was angry with him!
And the moment the process stopped, the Calamity would attack him!
Even if it did not kill him, it would certainly seal and imprison him so he could no longer cause any trouble...and he could not let that happen.
If the process went further toward completion...the Calamity would certainly have no choice but to surrender! And then he would win.
He just had to endure a little longer...just a little more.
[Expulsion: 12%]
The black strands between him and Lian became stronger.
The Black Silence was motionless, but the pressure of his presence became stronger every second and at that moment a huge sound came from behind.
BOOOOOOM!
One of the Titan’s remaining chains broke, and the entire battlefield shook for a moment.
Part of the darkness stored inside the Titan immediately started to come out, but because the expulsion process was still active, the flow of darkness was pulled between the two points.
Lian.
Cindar.
This pressure from both sides caused another chain to make a cracking sound.
Crack... crack...
The Black Silence looked at it and a smile appeared on his face again...his idea had worked and these fools were helping him without even knowing it.
Seraphina vomited blood in the distance, the four lines of light connected to the chains shook for a moment.
[Time remaining for the final command: 03:17]
She fell to one knee, but did not lower her hands.
"Not yet..." She said under her breath through clenched teeth and kept the flow of mana.
Cindar saw all of this, but he could not stop the process, if he stopped it now, everything would be over.
Centuries of planning, all the sacrifices, his goal, everything would be over!
So he kept it going.
Even when Seris attacked him again.
Even when Rindo came from the right side.
Even when Darian prepared his next arrow.
Tavern pulled himself up from the ground, blood was running from the corner of his lips, but there was no sign of doubt in his eyes anymore.
Cindar looked at him for a moment, his old pride returned to his face.
"You owe your existence to me." He said with contempt and raised his free hand.
"No, you abandoned us! Did you forget?" Tavern answered in a calm voice.
Cindar’s eyes opened slightly wider for a moment.
"We built our cities ourselves." Tavern said and gripped his sword tighter.
"We raised our children ourselves."
"We survived our wars ourselves."
"You only created us so you could use us." He then looked directly into the Founder’s eyes.
And then he attacked, Cindar released the invisible pressure, but at the same moment Darian released his arrow.
The seven colors gathered at one point, and the explosion of light directly hit the invisible pressure shield.
His defense finally broke and his body was completely open for half a second.
Tavern arrived, his sword went directly into his side and the blade came out from his back.
Cindar opened his mouth, dark blood came out, but he was not finished yet.
Rindo entered from the other side and struck his sword into Cindar’s free arm with all his strength, the bone broke and the arm hung down.
But he still did not release the seal on his chest.
Seris moved forward, everything slowed for a moment in her eyes.
Cindar turned around.
There was something in his eyes that she had never seen before.
Fear.
Fear of death.
Fear of failure.
Fear that all the centuries he had waited would become nothing, and at that moment he finally took his hand away from the seal, he had no other choice.
But Seris did not care, and it was already too late, and she swung her sword.
[Heavenfall Execution.]
The movement of the blade was short, but a huge wave of energy was released and a thin line passed through Cindar’s neck.
His head tilted slightly and a red line appeared on his neck, his eyes were still open, as if he himself still could not believe it.
Then his head separated from his body.
Slowly.
Without glory.
Without a final word.
The body of the man who had sold a world and sacrificed generations stood like that for a moment.
Then the seal on his chest went dark, the black strands broke and Cindar’s body fell to its knees and then onto the ground.
[The First Anchor has been destroyed.]
His head stopped several meters away on the ground, his eyes were still open, but there was nothing left behind them.
Seris only looked at the body for several seconds.
That was it?
This man had caused all of this.
The destruction of the world, the destruction of civilizations, the death of the Forgotten Tree, the return of the Calamity...all of it was his fault and now there was only a headless body on the ground.
Seris felt no satisfaction, not even happiness, only a cold feeling.
It was over.
But at that moment, a panel opened in front of Seris’s eyes.
[The hidden condition of the Evolution Quest has been discovered.]
