Targeted Mode: Select one species from the map’s catch pool. When this mode is active, the hook rate for small and medium-sized individuals of that species increases by 60%, and the hook rate for large-sized individuals increases by 30%. Giant-sized and larger individuals cannot be caught.

’Hot damn, I’m already back up to over 9,700 Gold Coins,’ Gu Nan thought. ’Once I finish my dailies tonight and use a Gold Coin card, it won’t be long before I can afford that purple Seven Star fishing rod.’

Even so, his normal catch rate for them wasn’t as high as it used to be. He figured he could probably just barely keep up with the demand, so he decided he might as well keep selling them.

From the elite catch pool, the Gray Large-eye Bream, White-edged Slender Grouper, Twin-spot Hogfish, Twospot Snapper, and Malabar Grouper were also poor sellers.

As for the two ornamental fish, he decided to remove them as well. ’Ornamental fish don’t really sell around here anyway,’ he figured. ’I’ll just wait until someone asks for them.’

So, that left him with nine elite species. In total, he had simplified the pool of 32 fish down to 19. This would significantly increase his productivity from now on.

He already had stock of the thirteen species he’d filtered out, either in his aquarium or in chilled storage. The shop still had some inventory left, so he could just sell it off slowly.

Then there was the Targeted Mode. The hook rate for the elite boss was abysmally low; in all this time, he had only just caught his second one.

But now, with this mode, he could farm that species in large numbers.

Unlike marlin, groupers sold well regardless of size. The wild Blue-bodied Large-spot Grouper was also quite rare. He figured many people, upon learning he had them for sale, would probably buy one to raise at home.
