I Can Level Up Infinitely

Chapter 202: The Demon Sword

"This sword... How did it end up here?" Leon muttered in shock. Tears still lingered at the corners of his eyes. Ariana’s death remained vivid in his mind. He didn’t know her. He didn’t even understand why she felt so familiar to him.

Yet the sudden appearance of Logan’s greatsword was enough to pull his thoughts away from everything else.

Slowly, he walked toward it and wrapped his hand around the hilt.

Hummm!

A metallic melody echoed through the area. It sounded as though something had finally reunited with someone it had long been waiting for.

Leon tightened his grip and tried to pull the greatsword free.

But...

It didn’t move.

The weapon felt like an immovable mountain. He grabbed the hilt with both hands and pulled with all his strength.

Still...

Nothing.

"What’s going on?"

Ding!

The familiar chime of the system echoed in his mind. Leon shifted his gaze toward the translucent panel.

[Congratulations, Host.]

[Host has awakened the second bloodline without a Curse Eradicator Key.]

Leon immediately began reading the notifications that had piled up.

[Bloodline: Demon Monarch’s Bloodline.]

[Bloodline Rank: Elite.]

[Bloodline Effect 1: While in use, the bloodline multiplies the wielder’s overall strength. The multiplier depends on the wielder’s level of anger.]

[Bloodline Effect 2: The wielder grows stronger after every life-and-death battle. The increase depends on the severity of the injuries sustained and the experience gained during the battle.]

[Bloodline Effect 3: The wielder’s comprehension reaches the absolute peak. With a single glance, the wielder can master any technique, skill, or ability.]

[Bloodline Effect 4: The wielder can absorb the souls of others to increase their own soul strength.]

Leon stared at the notifications with astonishment. "Demon Monarch’s Bloodline..." he whispered. "What an incredible bloodline. The effects truly live up to its name. Growing stronger after every battle... multiplying my strength whenever I use it... mastering techniques with a single glance..."

He took a deep breath.

"What terrifying abilities..." His gaze settled on the final effect. "And this last one... It sounds evil... but it’s still an incredible ability. There are beings whose souls I wouldn’t hesitate to absorb." The image of the green orc flashed through his mind.

Then...

Ariana’s death.

His fists clenched tightly as rage surged through him once again. He still couldn’t erase that scene from his mind. His heart ached every time he remembered it.

The notifications, however, weren’t over yet.

[Due to the Host’s second bloodline, Berserk Mode has evolved.]

[Berserk Mode Level 2: When activated, the wielder’s overall strength will be multiplied by twenty, and it will last for two minutes. The paralysis duration after the ability is used has been reduced by half.]

Every notification brought astonishing news.

Under normal circumstances, Leon would’ve been overjoyed.

But not today.

None of these newfound abilities could lift his mood. He looked back at the greatsword.

"If this sword really exists... Then everything I saw actually happened. Logan... Is that Logan... actually me? My past life? The man in my dream called me Logan too. Is that why he wanted me to grow stronger so desperately? So I would never have to experience the same helplessness I did in my past life?"

Leon fell silent. A few moments later, he slowly raised his right hand and clenched his fist. "If that’s truly the case... Then I will become stronger. Not only to protect... But to avenge. To avenge Ariana. If the people responsible are still alive... I will massacre every last one of them."

His eyes turned bloodshot.

Once again, Leon grabbed the hilt of the greatsword and pulled with all his might.

The weapon didn’t budge in the slightest.

"What the hell is wrong with this thing?" Leon almost shouted. "Why is it so unbelievably heavy? Logan could wield it when he was only a Martial Apprentice. So why can’t I?"

Just then...

More notifications appeared before him.

[Scanning complete.]

[Weapon: Demon Sword.]

[Introduction: The Demon Monarch’s closest companion, a weapon that fought beside him through countless battles. Over the years, it developed a soul of its own and will not move unless it acknowledges someone as its master. The weapon must first be fed blood. If it accepts the blood, it will recognize that person as its new master.]

[Weapon Grade: Unidentifiable.]

[Effect 1: Can absorb the life force of slain enemies and convert it into spiritual energy, which can later be used for cultivation.]

[Effect 2: Can deflect any magical attack with twice its original power.]

[Effect 3: Can absorb energy-based attacks to either release them later or convert them into cultivation resources.]

[Effect 4: Damage +500%.]

Leon’s heart skipped several beats. The sword’s abilities... They felt like something straight out of a dream.

"F-five hundred percent damage bonus?" he muttered in disbelief. "No wonder Logan was able to defeat people so much stronger than himself."

He stared at the greatsword in awe. "So... I have to feed it my blood, huh?"

A determined look flashed across his eyes. "Then drink as much as you want. But no matter what, I am making you mine today."

Without the slightest hesitation, Leon slammed his palm against the edge of the blade and dragged it from top to bottom.

Blood immediately gushed from the wound, flowing down and staining the entire sword crimson.

Ariana’s death had completely changed him.

He was no longer the same Leon. This transformation wasn’t physical. It was mental.

Hissss!

The greatsword greedily absorbed every drop of blood. The massive blade then began to tremble violently.

The next instant...

It burst free from the ground. The colossal weapon spun wildly through the air, emitting a deep metallic hum.

Leon instinctively raised his hand.

The moment he opened his palm...

Thwack!

The hilt slammed firmly into his grasp.

Rumble!

Rumble!

The entire area shook violently. Even outside the volcano... The entire mountain range trembled as though a massive earthquake had struck.

[Congratulations, Host. The Demon Sword has accepted your blood and formed a bond with you.]
